I used to live in the east,then shifted to west about 15 years ago. But to me, east side food is the best!!! Especially in bedok,every 10 steps,you see a coffeeshop,hawker centre. Then theres simpang bedok, siglap,geylang,upper east coast etc
Good recommendations from him, but for rojak … I would prefer the ABC Brickworks rojak stall .. their rojak gravy is more generous n palatable… Clementi stall gravy is too thick …. Go n try for yourself to understand better
Hi Alison, To me Lai Heng Teochew Kueh I would not say is good or bad to me is so so only. But as everybody will each got their own taste bud or should I say sense of taste differ.
Yes, u did a gd job get Grab Driver to intro u best foods in SG, cos their r "Local Snake" knw where the best foods located. Hope we can hv East, Centre, North Grab driver version best foods.

Hi, Alison. 喜歡你推薦本地美食。Bang Kuang 在台灣應該是叫“沙葛”。在第一段你吃的 soon kueh, 因該也是用 bang kuang 做餡料。如果是真正的 soon kueh 是用竹筍做的，所以就叫做“筍粿”。因為筍的價格比較貴，很多人用沙葛來代替。😅
沙葛的正式中文名字是「中國蕪菁」，直接由英文名字翻譯， Chinese Turnip !
筍還有季節性（所以在潮州本土只有冬天和春天有筍粿），工序也很多！
台灣叫做番葛，沙葛是廣府人的稱呼
