Calibrate the controllers there are options just choose a n64 controller or a normal version of the switch controller not the seperate ones the ones that look like standard controllers
I understand you are probably ranking these off of game compatibility and ease-of-use. But you did not mention emulation accuracy once. Project 64 has been by far the worst N64 emulator for years. I really don't understand why people keep recommending this. Simple64 should probably be at the top of the list for accuracy and ease-of-use + great netplay. And also RMG and Ares deserve to be somewhere on 2nd and 3rd place. (can't decide which order). For their ease of use and accuracy. Oh and P64 should probably be at the bottom lmao. Too many plugins to set up for someone new to understand just to play one specific game without game breaking issues.
Also adding a mention regarding the list in the video...Retroarch isn't an emulator itself. It's a frontend for hosting emulator cores. It's silly to list it among "emulators".
Project 64 has at least one severe security vulnerability which should disqualify it completely from consideration except on a system which has no personal information on it and which isn't connected to the internet or any network, but probably you should just use a different emulator anyway even in that case.
Simple64 seems like a very pleasant new entry! Plays perfectly even the hardest (to emulate) titles and offers a few settings to mess with, including the essential rendering resolution and vsync. Superb!
I got pj64 good running in fullscreen, 2k, upscaled textures without even downloading hd texture packs, crisp audio in even large areas (only need to wait a moment to load/buffer the environment to get smooth audio again, and I also for a trick to quicker get smooth audio when it slows down, hold z direction behind link and it kinda fixes the lag The Missing Link hack was so beautiful
i tried mupen,it detect a controller but cant bind any key with the x box controller, simple64 doenst open the rom and now 1964 has the same shit system where it detect controller cant beind the keys.Project 64 got cooldown, none of those works anymore.
I like project 64, it just sucks I get this bug on super mario 64 (and maybe others I'm not sure) where it tells me it's loading combiner shaders but it never goes up and just stays at 0.0

I have no thing but problems with Project64 when I use it, hard to confgure controllers, not the most user friendly and sometimes will randomly speed your game up like 200 percent. For other emulators I feel there's a lot of ease of access to configure and set up but this one, to me is not worth the hassle
think it's alright now, I had to try 4-6 emus and the audio was bad or i can only get good audio in windowed, except for project 64 current stable. hooked up my switch controller and it's a beauty esp when my controller got memory buttons to bind to D up (C up in emulator to have link 1st person view) and B (down face button, x for playstation) as Z button. (A for A button ingame, and I press X (up face button) for the feel of n64 B) the program buttons are behind the con so emulates the Z feel well and easy to fine turn with a shortcut for c up
So I have 3.0.1, I do get the pop up on the donation thing, but I have had no issues with it and been enjoying B3313 (Mario 64 ROM hack) I'm pretty sure it is safe but people still say it is not. I've had no issues but I wanna know if I will be ok.
@savagecabbage9715 I know that 4.0 is safe but I would still use a anti virus Also the virus comes from roms when you load it in pr64 it will activate the backdoor to your pc. I would recommend mupen64+.
A couple things wrong with this list: 1) RetroArch is not an emulator, and RetroArch also has multiple N64 cores which you didn't specify in this video. 2) Simple64 was done dirty, it's the most plug and play emulator by far, and plugins for emulators in gernal are getting more and more archaic, that's why PCSX2 got rid of them. This emulator dropping them is actually a plus, also this emulator has great online support too. 3) RMG should have been on this list, it's basically Mupen64Plus but with a usable GUI. Also Mupen64 has been better and more accurate than Project64 for a while which leads perfectly to point number 4. 4) Project64 should not be used as a matter of principle. The dev injecting malware into it years ago is reason enough to never use this emulator. It got better, but still bad when the malware got replaced with a nagware screen, but that's still inexcusable. Also if you still need to use particular plugins Mupen64 or any of its forks, like RMG has support for them, so there is zero reason to ever use Project64, which is a good thing, this dev and this emulator should be left behind and forgotten.
@@deejones8552I'd honestly recommend Simple64. It has great accuracy, as a name implies it's plug and play, and if you care about stuff like upscaling it supports that too.
How does everyone deal with the lack of controller profile configuration options in these emulators?

i deleted that emulator and searching for RMG
only 1.6 has this virus

Just want to recommend Ship of Harkinian for ocarina of time. It's not technically an emulator, but the best way to play that game.
Yea, Its a port that adds Randomizer settings, Graphic enhancements (such as much higher frame rate and also higher quality graphics)
problem is that u cant use rom hacks with it

M64 plus actually has malware inside the software, so does Project 64. But only with versions older than 3.0

Does simple64 have malware?
They dont. Peiple are gullible and paranoid. It was investigated.
