Great stuff. I rarely have my vintage watches restored… don’t know anyone to do it correctly and I really don’t mind the patina… thank you Kalle for posting!

WOW!! PROFFESIONAL POLISHING JUST MADE SENCE!! thank you for the lesson. I can see the difference in my collection. and all the watches that have been "miss-polished" are going in the trash!

So Interesting. Looking forward to the next instalment. As a home hobbyist using a 5' x 3' table, which also holds my computer, the facility to polish and repair cases is not an option I could do. However, these videos will give a good insight and are of great benefit to the knowledge needed to restore watches. Thank you Kalle.

Enjoyable video. And I have a question for the viewers here. A few years ago I watched a three part series on UA-cam on watch case polishing (at least I think it was 3. It may have been 2). I think each video was 20-30 minutes and I think it was hosted by a watchmaking school in Switzerland. The presenter beat up a new watch case with a hammer and then polished it clean. Does anyone know who hosted those videos? I can't find them anymore. I remember the presenter had a very calm and soothing voice.

@@dplanetta Dang it! I'm pretty certain they took it down. I've done some pretty deep dive searches.

Best way to polish vintage watch without ruining it: "The Visa Polishing" - I send it to Kalle along with my CC number ;-) Seriously, as a hobbyist there are certain watches I will never work on, including my dad's Omega that I inherited. If I messed it up I couldn't forgive myself. Most watches, though, are fair game, so thanks for showing us how this works!

Hello mate after watching your videos for some time I trust your opinion. How would you suggest one find a coach for this locally? What profession is closest perhaps. I am quite isolated in Perth Australia but I believe I could do this at a professional level. I would like to start properly with a certified pro

Depending on the material of the watch case, they have to be treated differently. Most of the time it's not worth to polish gold filled or plated cases. Adding texture like a sunburst treatment is difficult to do with out correct machines.
