The fact that it has a headphone jack and USB C itself is an upgrade over the real iPhone.

I remember seeing a phone like this come into our shop a while back. The guy dropped it and wanted to see if we could fix the screen and we told him that it was a bootleg phone and we couldn't get parts. He said he wasn't surprised and went out to buy a real phone. Funny story now, but we felt bad for the guy who fell for some nonsense.

ua-cam.com/video/GTHlCk7fEOY/v-deo.html Finally it's here.
I have a similar story from a shop I worked in, but a customer brought in a "Huawei" phone like this, with the same "Welcome" boot screen and wanted us to "install normal software" :-)
I think its a lot more easier to get this knock off screen replacement than to get iPhone screen replacement from Apple.
As requested I messaged the seller a link to the video. Unfortunately China blocks access to UA-cam so I had to summarise the video and attach images instead.
He responded as follows:
*Seller*
"Hello, is this our accessory? Please don't disassemble the phone casually. Our memory is 8 256GB"
*Me*
"Yes this phone is from your store. Don't worry disassembly was done professionally and shared with a few hundred thousand people online. As such people are now aware of this scam. The specs of this phone are a lie and misleading to consumers. Shame you cannot visit the link and watch the video. I think you would hate it."
*Seller*
Hello, we did not cheat, we also raised our doubts
*Me*
Please elaborate on what you mean by doubts.
*Seller*
The mobile phone parts you removed.
*Me*
What about them? Are you aware the real specs of the phone are not what you listed?
*Seller*
Hello, our mobile phone is exactly what is described on the page.
With no admission of guilt from the seller I went about getting my money back.
AliExpress wouldn't allow me to open a case against the seller as it had been more than 15 days.
So opened a PayPal case and got all my money back excluding return shipping which was about $20.
The sellers page has since been removed
good
bruhhh
You can try Activity Launcher to launch secret apps to change the specifications.
Can you also dump the firmware?
I never thought the disassembly was "casual" either.
I used to work for Apple and we would see these on occasion. The first clue was the owner could not log in to iTunes. Also, the weight was slightly different than a genuine phone.
When my kids were young the first phones we got them were cheap Android phones from China as we knew they were likely to get broken. They actually turned out to be quite usable phones and lasted two years.
I actually had a 100 dollar smartphone from China back in 2017, it was a Redmi 4A. I'm actually surprised it's still bootable and usable albeit with a fast-draining battery even 5 years on. Comes to show that some reputable Chinese brands still have proper quality controls no matter how cheap their phones are.
I'd evaluate this "phone" as worse than a Samsung s2 as the second one is an actual phone, which you can find for around 2-5$, just enough to get a pack of smokes here in Romania. 120$ is more than 30 times it's value. I still wonder who falls for this kind of scams nowadays

@@ChristopherChapelle it's not that i want, they come in a bundle when i buy phones to repair, and i just store them
The reason why I am not comfortable buying high-ticket items on online stores. Here in the Philippines, tons of these fake iPhones are flooding the major online stores, choking the legit ones. And not just phones, too-even tablets.
Better if all sites like lazada and shopee be blocked forever until both of them be a philippine owned company
You can desolder the battery connections and do a timed drain test to determine exactly what the battery capacity is. It's pretty simple.
I actually had a customer come in with one of these in the United States. I refused to activate it due to it only that the back of the phone came off, but its IMEI inside the phone and the back battery storage were not only different, but the internal IMEI read as a Samsung Flip phone. The phone's UI was one for one of an Apple's UI on the home screen, but the lock and all other pages were of Android. I told the person that they would need to return the device from where they purchased it from.
Holy FCC guidelines batman
Probably a good call. Quite a sticky situation and you avoided it.
ua-cam.com/video/GTHlCk7fEOY/v-deo.html Finally it's here.
I used to work for a wireless carrier and had a similar situation. A guy came in asking to connect his iPhone to our prepaid and it was basically the same thing in the video, the IMEI didn't even pull up in our system and when he asked why I told him it was a fake iPhone but he actually got mad at me for calling it fake... I sent him on his way and wished him the best of luck
What do you mean by 'activate'? You just chuck your SIM in and off you go.
My biggest concern would not be being out $120 for the cost of the phone but would be if this a was a phone designed for phishing information. This would put identity theft on a new level!
If it has anything Huawei on it, it's definitely a consumer spyware product.
interesting idea
This one has become one of my most favorite videos. Loved the way you exposed them😄
Man, I'd make a killing making my own budget phones if they had acceptable specs and had a similar luxury appearance.
Go to China.. you can do it. I know what city lol
Back in the days there were a lot of iPhone/Nokia clones that had acceptable specs and worked similar to other low end phones from that era. I think there's just no more demand for these clones as it was back in 2010~2013

There are literally millions of people doing exactly that in China. Most of them lying about their specs and the ones being truthful are going bankrupt as we speak.
Just buy budget phones from brands like Redmi, Iqoo, and the like. They already look premium and have decent specs.
At least you don't need 5 different types of screws to disassemble the phone
Huawei P30 Pro also only has one type of screw, and they're all the same length even. Except two tiny ones which hold the ear piece.
Makes you wonder what the true reason behind the US banning Huawei was!

A pity that this kind of garbage still exists, for that money a low end but usable Realme, Oppo, Xiaomi, etc can be bought and if lucky even a low-mid range one 🤦🏻
It is NOT advertised as an iPhone by the seller. There are always people who cannot afford top-notch iPhones but still want to impress friends and neighbors. These toys are the vanity phones that they need.
Based on the components and the build, I don't doubt it's made spesifically to bait people on aesthetic similarity to the iPhone. They always have the bare minimum components and specs to function. At this point I reckon there is a factory or three dedicated to these scammy kind of phones

i found a refurbished iPhone SE (2nd generation) on walmart, that was locked to a carrier for about $150. although i wasn't the one to order it, it actually came with what it was advertised, even was in almost perfect condition beside a cosmetic scratch on the back glass. although i don't know how well you could trust that with walmart. it was a great deal for me at least, cause i wanted to get a new phone.
You can 'remove' that scratch too with resin fixers they sell for windscreens and such.

there might be an app that opens with a dialer code, that let's you set the displayed storage size and ram. there's apps that shows your devices hidden codes and let's you dial them
