woah.. remember when lucifer actually had a heartbreaking storyline and wasn’t just a plot device used as the big bad against the winchesters.. woah. it’s been a long time since i’ve felt for him.. for all the archangels and their stories actually. i’ve always loved gabriel but woah!! this made me feel something
EXACTLY!!! I'm rewatching supernatural right now so all the old feels are hitting me really hard. I always loved Lucifer and when he got more screen time I was really happy but I also miss the season 4 and 5 Lucifer, he was so... Intense and interesting. I'm glad it made you feel something. I want people to remember that he and gabriel were actually some of the best characters in the show!!!
It still baffles me that Lucifer was just fine with God in the end. Do they not remember him questioning why he's doing what he did, in Swan Song he asks why God is making him and Michael fight, "I just can't figure out the point", now he doesn't seem to care that his "Father" only ever saw him as an antagonist for the book he was writing.
@@Ben-vf5gk I think that one of the characteristics of Lucifer has always been him being upset about how his father treated him, more than him being upset about how God treated others. We don't know what exactly Chuck told him in S15, but it probably was an apology or Chuck saying that he still loved Lucifer. I don't think Lucifer ever completely hated Chuck. He was being jealous and felt neglected. And I think Chuck knows that and knew exactly what to tell him and Lucifer couldn't help himself but listen. He believed to be special in his fathers eyes again. Also, Lucifer probably noticed that he was the only being Chuck resurrected from the Empty, which could have helped him feeling special in Chuck's eyes again.
@@RB-km4om Here's the thing, we don't know what Chuck said to Lucifer, it wasn't on screen, so all that is basically headcanon. "Maybe there was some character development off screen" is a terrible excuse to me. And even if Chuck had said something, why would Lucifer believe it when the secret is out that Chuck views all of his creations as fiction? Lucifer should know Chuck doesn't care about him and only saw him as an interesting antagonist for his story- hell, Lucifer even guessed this was the case back in S11-13 "can't be a supersavior if you don't have a supervillain", "he made me into the all purpose villain". This was the writer's chance to vindicate themselves for having Lucifer going back to a villain in S12, it could have felt like it was all naturally leading to this. Instead Lucifer... is just fine with the fact that his father never loved him and he was right all along and nobody believed him? I just don't buy it.
I love this so much. Sometimes I feel like the angels' stories are forgotten through Sam and Dean. There are obviously so many parallels between the two but I love Lucifer, Michael and Gabriel so much and they deserved so much better.
YESSSS exactly my thoughts!!!! if they just could have digged a little bit deeper it would have been AMAZING! more of gabriel conflict standing between his brothers, more of our earth michael and lucifer interacting. that would have been amazing, wow
Honestly, though. The archangels would have made an amazing series. Even though they were totally in the background, they all had such compelling stories and dynamics.
Totally agree. Even in the season 5 when the apocalipce started there were only a few scenes with the arcangels. It's like the question Metatron asked God, something like "you wrote just a few lines about the arcangels, don't you think they deserve a few more words?".
the archangels were so captivating and had so much potential - just look at how Sam and Dean were supposed to mirror Lucifer and Michael - and how alternate reality Michael wasn't inherently evil - he was made that way because he did everything he was supposed to, believed he was doing the right thing only to realize that he destroyed the world and God didn't come back and there was no paradise for anyone. the writers really fumbled the ball after season 11 I believe - and a big part of that was their absolute atrocity they did when handling the archangels. As far as they're concerned, I'll just stick to the golden era of seasons 1-5
I think it would be interesting to know his story because as you said he was ass but he started out as Angel of Healing. And maybe it was because of his brother's fall, that he started to see emotions as a weakness, an imperfection, and being a healer he thought he should rid of these flaws, so no more Angels would fall, and that's why Naomi started brainwashing the lower Angles.
I love Lucifer so much... Gabriel also is the best, but Lucifer's story was absolutely heartbroken for me. I'm so glad there are still people who cares about their story
Yes omg!!! I'm rewatching supernatural rn so all the feels hit me hard. I always scream when I see the old Lucifer, he was just so intense and interesting
I wish Michael would have more screentime. I always had the feeling like they forget him a little Bit which is such a shame. He and his bound to Adam could have changed so much. But in the end, they all deserved something better, him, Gabriel and Lucifer.
From what I have learned recently, they tried to bring Michael or Adam back over the course of a couple of years, but Jake Ables agents at the time claimed he wasn't interested ( which wasn't true).
Wish they would have included Gabriel saying "at least they try..." With the "to do better. To forgive". Other than that this is probably the best fan edit I've ever seen!!!
thank you so much for this, I miss these idiots so much, the archangels just mean so much to me and your video is so good at bringing together all the reasons why
I'M CRYING AGAIN THANKS. God, I remember how much I used to adore Lucifer's character before S11+. Like I still liked him afterwards but there was just something missing, you know? Also I miss Gabriel so much. I was REALLY hoping he'd show up during ep19. This entire family is so tragic and heartbreaking, despite a lot of them being dicks (but ahhh the tragedy especially since Chuck couldn't give less of a shit about ANYONE just... makes it hurt even more). -I love how I'm saying all this but only properly started watching the show last year since they only showed early season reruns on tv and stopped selling past seasons on Black Friday so I only had the first three for a long time-
You're welcome, we can cry together 😭😭😭 and same omg!!! I was always so happy to see more of Lucifer but season 11 Lucifer wasn't just for me. AND SAME WITH GABRIEL /!!!! I'm not believing he is dead. I'M JUST NOT!!! he of all angels deserves an happy ending and nothing less!! He always helped the Humans and what did he get?? Nothing. Bullshit. And I just love their family story I only wish they would have explored it a little bit more bc it's actually quite interesting and has parallels to the Winchester family😭😭
