Thanks for the m4 and Spirit info. I just got the same combo. I was excited about ELRS at first. I was thinking it could be great for bind-n-fly stuff. The more I read about it, I am worried about backwards compatibility. When I first read about ELRS, I assumed they would keep some kind of backward compatibility for basic stuff, but that does not appear to be correct. There are some bind-n-fly models that are available with older firmware that won't work with the latest version. Most manufactures try to make sure that the radio supports older protocols for awhile. That just doesn't seem to be a priority though for ELRS (at least doesn't appear to be from history). On the good side though, They can get rid of old code that other manufacturers would have to carry around for longer periods of time. That is a dev benefit though and not a user benefit.
Great video I miss the live because I was on the train coming from work . I try to watch your videos I do learn a lot .. Right now I have 4 radios and they all alive because I watch your videos I the jumper t16 that die almost 2 years ago and I have radio master tx16s that die 1 year ago and then I buy me the one that im using oh the 4th one was the first radi I got me it was RadioLink and I kill that one tryin to upgrade firm ware. thats dead LOL LOL . thank you.
I'm currently considering both the Spirit GT and an OMP M4. How far off are you from a test flight video? I'm really interested in the Hard deck feature. I feel like having that extra protection will allow me to push my comfort zone. My M1 crashed once because i panicked and missed my recovery switch luckily it wasn't TOO bad.

That makes me happy to hear. Good job recovering them.

I just got my spare parts in. Need to replace tail feathering shaft. Then I should be able to give it a go.
