Fell in love with the social version of the Fat Bob when it was released in 2018. Finally bought on in 2022. It the bike that brought me to HD. It’s unique. I’m keeping it. CVO RG ST coming soon because the Fat Bob introduce me to the brand, and I’m keeping it!
I absolutely hated the fat bob since it came out. I sat on one last weekend (gonna have to test ride one asap). I was blown away with the ergonomics, the comfort, the stock suspension. It just felt RIGHT
I had a ‘18 fat bob. Loved it. Traded it for a road glide to ride doubled up. Wife wanted to ride alone. Now i own a low rider s. I still feel like the fat bob rode better and could turn better. I liked the looks too. Don’t regret the low rider. But that fat bob still lives in my mind.
@@TeensierPython right on man, I also bought a road glide for two up with my wife and to jump on the performance bagger trend. But I’ve been really want to ditch it for something smaller like a 14-17 dyna or fatbob or low rider s or a standard.
@@ericnay7733 i put a pile of money into my road glide and that’s really the only reason I miss it. The low rider s fits me and my riding style so much better though.
I'm a Softail Fat bob owner myself, always loved it, heh looks every where I go, I Even have hard bags and a Sissy bar on mine for long travels. I suspect the Fat Bob will come back in a year or two with upgraded parts like the Breakout did, namely a 5 gal tank and 117 ci motor from the factory
You said your buddy was able to drag engine guards? That’s awesome. I live in the mountains and that’s one reason I haven’t bought a Harley because they blow on the corners😂. I have a paltry Vulcan 650. It’s a cruiser that handles these roads with glory. So nice But if he got this thing to handle the twisties, I have hope!
Dude, UA-cam -guy on a Harley vs Sport bike -in the turns. We're talking Lowrider with apes and forward controls ,the rider teaches the following sport bike a thing or two.👋💀
@@CaffeineThrottle ~ not sure what you’re saying, that the low rider can handle the turns? I’d love that, if that’s what you mean. I tried a soft tail slim and hit floor boards going around a regular corner. But I know they’re all different. Lemme know because I wasn’t following, not enough coffee yet.
Yep I see it almost weekly. The rokform shouldn’t do that if you have the vibration dampener on. No issuers from the quad lock and I’ve been running it for 2 years now.
I ask this question, I have a Low Rider S and I’ve ridden (very briefly) my buddies Fat Bob. The Fat Bob definitely feels more forward sitting. …it’s sporty in that regard but the skinnier front tire (though affected by lines and ruts in the road more) is much more “flickable” from turn to turn.
I tried the acessory Mid Kit and wasn't a fan. It didn't feel well built, and the pegs were too high up for me to be comfortable. Your experience may vary depending on your height and build.
I think I heard you say at 1:26 that 2023 was the last year for the Fat Bob? The Harley website has a 2024 model listed (colors Vivid Black and Billiard Gray). Edit: I double checked. It is gone for the US market but still available in other countries. My bad (and our collective American sad).
Us Aussies are very bigoted when it comes to tyre brands, Shinko when it first arrived to us was a cheap Asian brand that no one would touch… now, a few years ago and going back 8 more I was tracking BMW’s S1000RR’s and gave my used track tyres (Pirelli SC2’s) to a mate who drag raced a ZX12 and Boulevard, his race mates had never seen a used circuit tyre before (sides worn and near new down the centre) they were perfect to run out drag racing just he used them up slightly quicker than I could get them to him so he bought a Shinko then asked me if I’d had any experience either them to which I answered no just be careful with them as they’re a cheap unknown entity thinking they’d be useless, well he fit one up and out he went to the strip, when he dumped the clutch to do a burnout to warm the tyre up, up the front end went, same when he launch it to race so yeah, I’ve still not used one but for sure if I needed a front 16” I’d run one. As for the Fatbob if I didn’t have a new CVOSTRG on the way I’d be riding one now and with Ohlin’s just I’d put a larger tank on it… the seats on them are padded more at the rear so they push you forward which I usually hate but on the stock one I test rode it was perfect (5’7”) If I’m able to buy a second bike it’s going to be a Fatbob and hopefully have around 150/150. I used to have at least 3 bikes, 2 cars and a truck (Kenworth) but at 69 years old and retired I have to reign myself in a bit.
This is a nimble bike compared to what? A trike? Or a semi-truck? I rode one of these and "nimble" is not one of the words I'd use to describe it. That's why I ended up with a Scout Rogue. Sad they're phasing this out though. Might be the beginning of the end of the air-cooled bikes.

I love mine. Its a great do it all bike. I can rip around backroads all day or throw my bags and sissy bar on for a weeklong trip with the ole lady.

Kinda reminds me of when I was single.
Sport Glides also have inverted front suspension
But also no longer available here in the US

I can definitely see that happen. Didn’t consider it but very possible.
If I was in the market for the Harley this is actually the one I would get 1st. And I would do everything you did to the standard.
That would be nasty!
Very beautiful bike!!!, Nice video!!, Thanks for sharing!!

No joke, I had a teacher that lost his arm and leg when he hit a turtle on his motorcycle, lost control, went under a guard rail!
I had a teacher lose and arm and still rode. One arm and leg…? I’d still ride.

What's the difference about an inverted front end vs not
The wheel takes all the vibration...not the wrist
Would be great if you also recorded the sound of the bike cruising around too, so it's not just you talking the whole time
This in the twisties vs Low Rider S…?
I had one the Low Rider st is much better. In my opinion.
Lowrider. I love the geometry of the Lowrider and ST model. Also the front tire setup on the Lowrider feels much better.

Nice scooters ❤❤❤❤

Bad ass scoot
a big fan of this bike, goal of buying this year 😁🙌🤌
Cool bike.
👍🏽
Nice but can't hang with the dial on the tank anymore... Speaks old school already 😢
Yeah it does. Then again a lot of guys on new Lowrider and ST models are going back to the analog gauges. 🤷🏻♂️
Good video
Can't get a harley to stick?
Can you put a bigger tank on it?
Sure can. Takes a bit of work but it’s possible.
Easy it bolts on. Gotta figure out your dash setup though.
probably easiest to get an earlier LRS with the gauges on the tank. Or get the dash off the ST and use any tank you find.
Yeah. I've got a tank off a heritage for mine to put on eventually, but honestly the 3.6gal tank has been OK, and it's shaped better than the 5gal.
Where can I get that mid control kit??
They sell them on the Harley Davidson website.
Looks like oem mid setup. Nice setup but you gotta swap out primaries.
@@FXFBS540 I checkout the kit and other videos, looks like you keep your stock primary cover.
Yeah, there are 2 kits. The oem one that comes on the Street Bob and Low Rider S, and acessory one that keeps your existing primary.

You probably rode a stock one. With the forward controls which definitely don’t make the bike handle well imo.
If I could just get my 21 Electra Glide on some weigh loss. I’d probably handle her better, aka fat girl! Haha
lol yeah it is. Gut it like a king of the bagger bikes lol.
Lowrider s would ride the bends better without the fat front tyre
