Thanks for the update Billy! Missed you.... I guess I was one of the ones who came to you from your past in 2023. Warmed my heart, that day; catching up with you last year is one of my best memories of 2023.
Great video Billy. I really resonated with the part where you needed to live life. I was grinding nonstop for 2 years straight after graduating audio school. It slowly but surely built a burnout. In only a couple months from leaving the toxic studio environment I was in I feel much better. Music started feeling like a “job”. As creatives we have to pay great attention to our relationship to the craft and I definitely see that there’s other sources that can slowly destroy the passion. Awareness is the first step! Let’s keep nurturing ourselves and our relationship to music! As always great video
Thanks for sharing your insight and knowledge in recording. Your video "Recording Acoustic guitar with 3 Mics" which I followed exactly ( it took hours to setup) resulted in the best acoustic recordings I've done. After 54 years of playing guitar I finally feel proud of my recording of acoustic instruments. One song is posted on my You Tube channel (Steel & Nylon string and Cuatro). 12 songs coming out soon! Thank you Billy. Enjoy your life and your music!
Cuarto???? I've got to check that out. Mine suddenly warped a few months ago and don't know if it would be better to repair or buy a new you. Can you post a link here of the video?
@@FreakingOutWithBillyHume Do you have one? 10 string tuned like a 5 string bass, cross between a mandolin and a 12 string, Puerto Rican. Thanks for checking it out Billy. ua-cam.com/video/wroM50dULUA/v-deo.html
Awesome! Gotta do what ya gotta do. I'm pretty sure I've told you my story..... My Son was killed by a drunk driver when he was 24. That made me understand that the only thing we really have in this life that really matters is time. Not fancy cars, money, etc. Time is the one thing that matters and, what we do with what time we have is the most important thing. So yeah, do what you have to do to make your life fulfilling. Always here in support of what you and what you do, Billy.
There is way more to life than you tube. I found you baking reel to reel tapes and that helped me out a lot. Then I saw you were a local musician producer and a very good one at that . I am here to learn what ever I can. Thanks for all the work on the mic clone video also. I am here for the long haul. 👍👍
Thanks so much!! Let me know if there's anything in particular that you are interested in. Also, Sunday I will be live streaming a recording session to finish various things on the Tokyo Teens album. It should start in the afternoon and last for a while.
Don't worry mate . Keep riffing and doing what makes you happy. I know a brilliant pianist who is in his late 50 s and he doesn't want t play despite me thinking we could make a top class record. Know a drummer the same thing , a singerand more of the same thing. So im going to leave them to do what they want. And im going to do whatever i want , infarct thats my priority to do my own stuff that i didn't do because i was playing everyone else's stuff for decades.
I really love your content, life can be shity sometimes 2023 has been a disaster year for me so I know. Do the things you enjoy doing so you don’t have to regret even if this year ends up the same. Some things are just out of our control but eventually things will change some years in the future 😅 Hang on 😏
Excellent.
Consistency means nothing to me - It's the quality of your content.
Thanks! I've always been slower than most other producers and mixers for that very reason.

Thanks! You were indeed someone from my past that showed up but not in a bad way.
Glad you're back, man! You're a legend.
Thanks man!
Always glad to see you energized by a project, whatever that project might be at the moment.
You helped this happen. Thank you.
You are so inspirational and motivational to me! Great video, Billy.
Thank you so much!!

Thanks! I've been doing this for decades and I still have to carefully monitor my balances. It isn't easy....
Beautifully said. Wish you the best.

Wow! That is beautiful! I do have a Cuarto. My mom, who was Puerto Rican, bought it for me. Absolutely love the sound.
Whatever u do and whenever u do it, I know it will be great art! I’m definitely looking forward to your music release!
Thanks Al. I know we keep talking about it but we need to get together again here at the studio and do a new song from scratch.

Trouble is we need people to play with or you end up like Mike Oldfield. Who is brilliant by the way. Omadawn , what a great album
