Limestone Way FKT - 6hrs 18mins a new record

The Limestone Way is a 46.4 mile with nearly 2000m ascent route in the Peak District, starting in Castleton and finishing in Rocester. On Saturday 3rd April 2021, I set off from Castleton with the plan to run the route in a new record time of sub 7 hours. The previous supported FKT was 9hrs 41mins set by David Harrison on 2nd July 2016 (David ran the route from Rocester to Castleton).

I started at 8 am, Jamie Rutherford who opened 62 gates along the first 26 miles to Bonsall and acted as camera man, then Martin Zaleski joined me till the High Peak Trail. Max Wainwright joined me for a short section from Thorpe. I had Jen doing a fantastic job supporting me along the route; I used Mountain Fuel Xtreme Energy Drink, Spring Energy Gels and Precision Salt Tablets.
