I’m not a beginner but I just LOVE this pattern and always come back to it. I use a chunky yarn and make mittens for Christmas gifts. Everyone I’ve given them to have asked for new pairs every year!
OMG...this is insane...I have been crocheting for 50 years and never have I seen a mitten pattern explained so totally well! Thank you so much for this...what a wonderful warm pair of mittens I just finished...it is like double thickness because of the front post stitch....you are an amazing teacher, can’t wait to see how you teach the slippers. I am in the middle of making a hat to match the mittens...I wish you were teaching it... but because of the excellent way you taught the mittens, I am able to make 5e hat...I hope...wish me luck....and thanks again. (I am Linda...I use my husbands email)
That makes me so happy to hear 🤗 I think I make my mittens backwards compared to most patterns. I like the work from the top down like a hat. I think it's less confusing on the brain 😉
I’ve been crocheting for a very long time and haven’t found a pattern for mittens that I like better than this one. Thanks so much. It’s so easy to follow and stress free 😊
OMG!!! I LOVE YOU! I've tried a few patterns for mittens and get so annoyed because they say "easy' but in the end it's pretty complex.. then I could never get 2 to look the same even after carefully counting stitches over and over. Not only are you a rock star teacher, but you've made this pattern easy to follow. I'm sooooo excited! I finally have 2 mittens that match and I know I can do it again! WOO HOO!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing .you saved my life I recently just moved from FL to GA lord knows my tail be freezing. May the lord continue to bless you my dear.
You are very gifted and I too appreciate the excellent videos (no music etc) you provide. I’ve been crocheting less than 12 months and basically learned how to crochet thanks to videos provided on UA-cam. I’ve only made a few beanies, small blanket and a baby cover up yet. Currently I’m working on (I usually hand make things that’s different) a hat and mittens done using chunky yarn which will be color coded to match a flag that wasn’t really recognized as a legit provincial flag in my province until fairly recently. Both items will have a green twig stitched in the appropriate place. Crossing fingers that I will get it done, eventually. Thank you for providing such great videos for us to use as we try to improve our skills. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much! I had a someone suggest to put a "pause" in the video a while ago. I thought it was such a great idea. I love suggestion to make my videos easier to follow
Thank u soooooo much. I have finally made my first pair of mitts thanks to u, they r fabulous. Your tutorial was very easy to follow. I am on my second pair now. All my grandchildren r wanting some now lol. Thank u again for this brill tutorial x
This is ridiculous. 😁 I saw these before 7am. I said, "hmmm, these are cute." Then I saw they were made with basic worsted weight yarn, I begin to plan my day around going to the store at some point today. Normally I'd have yarn on hand but since I'm in the middle of moving and living out of boxes, I find it amazing that I'm putting that fact aside because I REALLY want to make these mittens. ☺ Oh, the crafty problems I have💛💛💛
So funny, I have just seen the video and my head is in a whirl as I have at least 4 projects on the go and really want to start these mitts. Decisions, decisions, us crafters have to make!!!
Thank you, of all the patterns I've tried, yours was the easiest! Since my daughter wanted mittens to match her scarf, I was happy to find your pattern!
Hi Alysha Great pattern and I saw straight away that they were like the slipper socks and I have 3 balls of the yarn I used for mine left I also made your twisted headband in it now I can do the mitts to match thank you for quick and easy to follow tutorials 😊Amanda xx
This is the second tutorial I've seen of yours and I love the way you teach, you make it so easy to follow along. I made a pair of the booties (in Red) so easy and fun. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this pattern. I have been crocheting for 40 years and have never attempted mittens until now! I found your channel last week and I have made five pair of adult mittens since then. I love the pattern and the FPSC makes them nice and thick. I have used #4 and #5 weights, all are just beautiful. Again thank you and I wish you a blessed holiday season. ❤️💕❤️💕
I was looking for a tutorial for mittens and found you. I didn't think I would like the finished look but I love it. I used Bernat super bulky with a 6.5 mm hook.. They are so warm and cozy I hate to give them away. Thank you! I've subscribed and will be using more of your talent.
Hello, I am new at crochet and I wanted to tell you that I just love you video, they are very easy to follow, so thank you very much and get up the great work !
Thank you for this tutorial and I have a disability and ive never worn mittens in my life...but I have worn gloves and I cant find proper mittens so I crocheted my own because of you!💝
Really nice tutorial. I’ve finished one mitten up to the wrist, and it’s all looking good so far. Thanks for the video - I have the written pattern too but didn’t need it.
This is a very excellent video very easy to follow and to the point. I have never crochet a mitten before intol now thank you very much for easy to follow and written pattern. Have a blessed Christmas and New Year.
Hello this is Norma from Bell Gardens California just to let you know that I'm doing your sweater coat Granny's granny square item or project but unfortunately I didn't have worsted weight yarn I had Karen latte cake so I'm making it out of there and it's coming out really good so as soon as I'm done thank you
This is an awesome way to make mittens! I just have one question...what size hook do you switch to? Thank you so very much for sharing your expertise! God bless you.
Thank you so much. I use the same size hook throughout the pattern, 6.5. I probably just lost my hook in the middle of filming and switch to a differ color hook. I'm sooo forgetful
Are you still answering g questions! Firstly, I love these! I just noticed that on the thumb you verbally say to FPDC the last 3(4) rows, but I just noticed that you do a FPHDC. then the dec row is done with a FPDC. So, do you use FP half dc or FP dc for those rows? Thanks!
I love your videos they are so easy to follow and I love your merch. The fact that you have bigger sizes is the best I will definitely be buy some from you :)
Hi Nicole, thank you so much!! I've built up a collection of crochet T-shirts, my family and co-works think i'm nuts. I love being the crazy yarn lady, lol
This is a great pattern and I was able to follow your tutorial. My toughest part was the thump, but with practice and experience it's getter better. You are a good teacher and nice person. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Hi! I'm know im late, but i really hope youll be able to answer my question. its regarding the first row of the thumb. When youre fp-hdc in front and after the stitchmarker i noticed you do something different on either side. right in front of the first stitchmarker you choose a different post than after. and then when you get to the other stitchmarker, you choose the same post on both sides. so you have 3 identical stitches and one thats different. I was wondering if thats on purpose, or maybe a mistake? I desperately want to make these, but im so nervous about this stitch. I hope you understood my explanation. Thank you :)

Thank you! I love these! I'm also using this to make an oven mitt using bulky cotton yarn.
Do you have a toddler size? I made the adult size and really like it but would like to make children sizes.
