  • This simple jump rope routine was created by JumpNrope Founder, Molly Metz. She created this routine in 2008 as a fundamental routine for kids to learn, it includes foundational movements in the areas of: Footwork patterns, crossing patterns, movement and understanding rhythm (following the beats of the music). This routine has been used by hundreds of jump rope routines and should be incorporated in EVERY adult athletes fitness regimen to increase cognitive development and basic jump rope fundamentals. Give it a try!!
    Molly is used a long handle R3 beaded resistance rope.
    Suggested ropes from JumpNrope for this routine are:
    3-series Freestyle rope by JumpNrope
    2.5 series Freestyle rope by JumpNrope

    All these ropes have a long flexy handles, optimal for crossing skills and freestyling control!
    JUMP UP ROUTINE:
    Side Straddle: 2
    Forward Straddle: 2
    Side Straddle: 2
    Forward Straddle: 2
    Skier: 4
    Twister: 4
    X-Straddle: 2 (start with feet apart)
    Single Jumps: 4
    Then (Repeat 4 times the following)
    Cross: 1
    Single Jumps: 3
    *Extra Credit replacing the crosses:
    Double under: 1 Single Jumps: 3
