  • I'll demonstrate key techniques on this Duncan Phyfe traditional buffet using custom-mixed chalk paint. I'll discuss getting a smooth chalk paint finish, how to stain a newly sanded wood top, and painting a pattern on the sides of the drawers (peek-a-boo drawers). The chalk paint custom color was 3 parts ‪@DixieBellePaint‬ Chalk Mineral Paint: Driftwood and one part Kudzu color. The top was stained with No Pain Gel Stain: American Honey and the Peek-a-boo design on the drawers was created with Stencil: Greek Key using Kudzu for the chalk paint color.

I love the design on the side of the drawers, it adds
a nice little surprise element. The stain color and base color look very nice together. Thank you :)

My buffet is a Duncan. How did you get the hardware so shiny? I used white lightening but not sure if brasso is the next step or just cut to the chase and used guiding wax in bronze?

I use bar keepers friend after soaking with half vinegar and half hot water for a couple of hours.
