Hey lovelies, in this video I am creating some beautiful crisp snowy coasters using Epoxy Resin and Jesmonite AC100 at the same time. This is something I have done on my channel many times before. I am using silver foil in the epoxy resin to tie in with the embossed images on the jesmonite. The mould I am using is from Molds and shapes discount code below. This is a first for me - what happened here has never happened before and I am still miffed but it does make sense that the Jesmonite got surrounded by resin and simply couldn't breathe. I do wonder if it would have dried out eventually had I left them alone.

Corn flour in a fine piece of cotton will work the same as an anti static pad. You can also add another layer of embossing powder over the top whilst it's still warm, it will stick without stamping. Reheat and you'll get a smoother look. I love these even with the little unintended parts. So glad I've found your channel thanks for the fun and ideas xxxx
They are beautiful Claire, you can think of that "channel " as a tree trunk. Paint some.thin branches and you have a winter tree lol
Re embossing - baby powder in a piece of fine cotton is ok to remove static, plus, a specific embossing ink that is stickier will give a smoother emboss. I love this idea.
Or cornflower is good too xx
They are fantastic and you have truly unique pieces there totally one-of-a-kind
Tumble dryer sheets will remove static Clair. I loved the deer they looked fabulous ❤
Awh Claire, I loved that.....I was thinking....and I know....before I say it 'you hate sanding' 😂😂 but could you maybe sand the jesmonite lightly as it approaches the resin, I don't know if this is making sense, but at an angle so there isn't a step if you like or channel as you called it, I know it's too late for the ones in this video but for the other two maybe? Hahah I don't know.....😂😂
But totally loved how these turned out, 😍 ❤️ everytime I watch your videos I'm like, oh no I need to buy that now haha 😂😂
Those are so pretty! I love silver and white, too.
Absolutely gorgeous Claire love them❤❤❤❤
They are stunning! The snowflakes were a great addition and somehow give the coasters a more finished look.
beautiful 😍 and if you are using new stamps you actually need to prine them to remove the factory residue, and the easiest way is to rub them over your skin till they dull, its that easy it give a surface for the ink to completely grab then the embossing wont be as dotty xx
I think you had great saves and they turned out very pretty! Thank you! ❄️
I love silver and white for Christmas! I usually end up adding a touch of blue as well. These turned out great.
and we miss you!!😁 The coasters still turned out beautiful!❤
love the added detail with the embossing
Thank you 🙏 Claire for a fun video and chat
I love the embossing!! I’ve got some of that stuff in my scrapbook stash from about 20 years ago and never used it!! lol really love the effect it gave the reindeer so pretty
Ohhhh thankyoooooooo hunee oooo you must try it one day 🤩🤩 its so much fun xx
They are pretty. Love the white and silver.
Even when you have an oops! the final result is gorgeous
Wonderful video and I love the coasters.❤❤❤ Glad you are back.
Looking forward to more silver and white 🤍
The embossing reminds me of a pewter effect. Lovely.
Stunning as always. We missed you too xx
i really love how hey turned out , the channel in them looks kind a cool
I actually decorate my tree with pearl white and silver and small Spitz of red velvet! Idk why it just feels right for me. I put white lights on it and color lights in my windows with some trimmings.❤❤❤❤
I still love these regardless of the "canals lol"
I do appreciate the fact you post errors made. Makes you only human and shows other crafters that mistakes happen to even the most experienced ones.. keep up the brill work claire. Look forward to your next upload xx ❤
Although that canal appreaed between the 2 chemicals, it made it even more unique and beautiful, Ms Claire. And you saved it beautifully 😍 💜,love that deer stamp, the textured embossed effects on it,just looking like a wow 😍💜
Hi Claire! I like the canal, it gives it a little something more
I don't know if this would work on Jesmonite or not, but when you get that kind of dotty look on paper, it helps to double emboss.
On paper, you reheat the embossing powder and pour more on. The molten embossing will act as the glue. Let it cool completely, then pour off the extra, and reheat. it gives a more solid, uniform look - on paper....
Ohhhhh thats great advice thank you I will try that .. I have also been told to buy the proper ink so maybe I won't get the dotting 🤩🤩🤩
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I have used a good quality embossing ink on resin (not sure of Jesmonite) and I got the dotting. In fact, I got more smearing too. I think because resin is not porous. Jesmonite might react differently. Anyways, I still got the dotting on resin. The ink almost beads up.
Hypothetical solution, still only partway into the video:
Put your mould on an incline. Then, pour one and let it cure on the angle.
Flip your mould a 180, and pour the other material!
They are gorgeous Claire despite or because of the irrigation ditch. 🥰🥰
Beautiful as always ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
These look beautiful! They will look very pretty hung on your tree with a silver ribbon.😍
I think they’re gorgeous!! The channel looks good!!!
These are beautiful! I love the channel in these!!!
Gorgeous creation,Ms Claire 😍💜,love the embossing on the deer, and that canal made a huge beautiful difference to your coaster,Ms Claire 😍💜
They are beautiful. The texture of the embossing makes it look hammered 😀❤️🤗
Great save Claire, a pretty, organic look to them. I have never used jesmonite, so I have no advice what so ever 😂 x
The deer stamp on the coasters is just so cute. Love them
Hi Claire these are so beautiful 😍 im with you love white and silver, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
Loving what you did. Brilliant Claire 🫶
They turned out great
Wow just amazing!
These ended up quite lovely despite the issues! I don't have an embossing bag either but I use an ankle sock filled with talc and that works for me.
Great save!!
Oh yes! It’s obvious!
To me, the jesmonite (sp?) is the snowy land, and the sparkly , silvery resin is the sky!
We’re it me, I’d use the backs!
That said, I haven’t finished the video yet!
I happen to really /like/ the “channel”! I think it adds a ton of textural interest to the piece, and really appreciate the aesthetic of making it silver!
These are so elegantly simple and gorgeous!
These would make fantastic ornaments, especially because they are partly transparent to let the lights show through
I haven’t used embossing. This was great to watch. I love silver… Silver with lighter blues are also lovely for the holidays.
Still turned out so pretty, I like how you continue and not bin the mistakes 👍I'm a binner but not now.
LOL at you having visions Claire. Sorry I missed the premiere. These turned out lively despite all the panic on the way :)
I like them even with the channel.
Hi Claire💜 I love them you did a great recovery. No one would ever know!!! 💜
Very pretty. ❤
They're both beautiful, Claire 😊❤
Silver and White ❤. Gold and Red ❤
Thank you 😊
They turned out out beautiful. You know if you use a dryer sheet that will take away the static. ❤❤
Gorgeous just gorgeous even with the channel ! I love ❤️ the silver & white theme also for Christmas 🎄. I realize
that this is not what you planned however you pivoted so
graciously. You made an oops into gorgeous coasters. Thank you Claire !
Those are sooooocooool😊
Love the sparkly silver Claire! Very pretty!
stunning going to nick this idea xx
Very beautiful 😍
It's beautiful Claire, love your result!
They are still lovely, with the canals and all. I think evaporation of the water is a significant part of the curing process of the eco pour type resins, and the layer of epoxy resin prevented that. By the time the epoxy part was hard and you demolded the pieces, maybe the remaining wet jesmonite had lost momentum to cure. I use a different brand, and am yet to try to combine resin and eco pour, but after watching this, I think I'll let the eco pour cure first, just in case, and then add the resin. I'm picturing a clear blue night sky of epoxy over white snow with forest animals.
I’ve never done embossing or even stamping but this video may encourage me to try. They are gorgeous! I’m going to check all in your shop too. Thanks Claire!
It's not a canal, it's just a tall, skinny iceburg!😂 beautiful job, Claire❤
I wonder if you could have sanded the Jesmonite off? Then, you would just add a small bit of resin over the sanded portion to make it shiny again! Please try! I want to see if it works ❤️
Awesome video and chat Claire ❤ These are absolutely stunningly Gorgeous ❤. Take great care and so looking forward to seeing tomorrows video ❤
What a stunning result. I'm sorry things didn't quite go to plan but the way you saved them is genius - the channels really look deliberate ❤
Clear stamps - when new, they need to be "seasoned" so ink applies evenly. I prefer to ink onto versamark first, then colored ink. If using embossing powder, I'd use only versamark and skip the colored ink.
For my own personal Christmas decorations I use variations of blue purple pink and silver
But this white and silver is stunning as well
They look so pretty. When something goes wrong it always happens when you are showing someone how to do something ..Happens to me too,but great rescue and they are very seasonal love the idea it’s really cool 🥰
Ohhh 💯 agree 🤣🤣 might be why I have a tonne of boo boos 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can't wait to try these ! Hope it will work with my Resin Crete, that's all I have in the states???
Darn, I missed the LIVE, was busy cutting my German Shepherd Emmie’s nails, can’t wait to watch this either way! Big hugs & much love Everyone!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I really, really appreciate that You share @Claire’s Crafty Corner when things don’t go to plan because it happens to most of Us, especially I believe; when We’re experimenting & pushing the envelope when it comes to techniques! These are beyond gorgeous & I LOVE your channel, all that you do & all that You share! ❤❤❤❤❤
Lov3 this
It's a bit like an oil/water don't mix thing that happened there. Jesmonite is a bit like cement and probably has a certain amount of water, whereas resin is a plastic type compound, so doesn't have any water.
I think your boo boo turned out good
I love your creations! Have you tried to make a stamping platform for such things? You may get a better stamping result (I know most are made for paper stamping but I've seen homemade ones work well)
That's why I just stick to just resin😂 I know I'd fail
Maybe you could try resincrete (probably spelled it wrong). It's very similar to jesmonite, but absolutely compatible with epoxy resin.
I wonder how well it would work if you made 2 jesmonite coasters and snap them in half before they are fully cured then put the half pieces back in the molds and your resin on the other side
That would work too - I've tried it ... we just get a LOT more resin seepage because we have broken the seal from the mould if that makes sense xx we could also just pour the jes.... a little .. let it fully cure then pour the resin 🤩🤩🤩
I love your personality and the fact that you roll with the oops. New sub from me!
Thank yoooooo so so much 🤩🤩❤️❤️
Love this idea! Versamark ink would work better for embossing it’s a lot stickier and is made for embossing
Thankyooooo I am totally going to get some 🤩🤩💯
Always have a plan B, or C as in Claire? happy little mistake there, looks beautiful!
There still beautiful ,maybe you could have filled the channel with uv resin and a bit of silver glitter, but amazing embossing never done that it looks fun and interesting,
Saying that I've never done epoxy resin or gesmanite,
The stags look like they are made from hammered silver. 😃
I didn't know you could use both at the same time instead of waiting for one to harden and then pouring the second.
Beautiful Claire can I ask could you have embossed the edging where went wrong?
Yesss absolutely 💯
The channel could be a shiny black color too.
I like them anyway, they are really different. I found out the hard way that resin doesn’t stick to cured eco pours 😢. Many trinket relays poured and ruined
Whoops….I obviously meant to say eco pour onto resin not the other way round lol😊
Love them. Can you use the embossing powder on resin?
Heyyyyy lovely - so many have asked me this but I've never tried xx I will have to give it a go 🤩🤩
Does uv resin stick to expoy resin and jesmonite? Cause couldnt we use that to fill the channels?
Either way i think they turned out beautifully! Very winter wonderland - xmas feeling!
Could you use a paintbrusg or micro Q-tip to "paint" embossing ink and add embossing powder then heat?
Yessss absolutely 💯
Hey Claire ! These deer/stags … I could not find them in the Canadian, US or UK Amazon storefronts ??
Love these Claire, question do you have to use the same colour ink to powder? Might be a silly question, but need to know lol x
Heyyyyy lovely ... no I don't believe you do have to use the same colour ... I used to just use a clear stamp years ago I'm sure 🤩🤩🤩
@@ClairesCraftyCorner ok thank you 😊
I think filling the channels with clear reson would make them look like a tree trunk.
I’ve never done embossing before. Can you put hot drinks on these or will it affect the image?
I loved your idea! I went to your Amazon shop to look for those stamps and embossing powder. I didn’t find them. Where would they be? Did you put a sealer of some type on the Jesmonite?
I was looking for the stamps also and couldn’t find them.
Heyyyyyy lovely ... sadly I couldn't find the exact stamps again 😢😢😢 I have linked all the alternatives with stags and trees etc .. 💔 sorry
Is it possible your table is not level ? My work table isn't and I've had overflows to one side.
If I wanted your original idea to turn out, could I pour the first part in, with my mold at a SLIGHT very suported grade, to make sure i have that 1/3 left? Then, once that part is set, put the resin in?
Or does this type of project have to be done at one time?
I think you answered my question.
You can't put Epoxy Resin over or next to Jesmonite. It won't adhere. Is that correct?
Could you do it in stages anyway, but instead of waiting for the Jesmonite to cure, just let it settle for a little while and get very comfortable where it is ( 15 min to maybe even an hour). Then come back and pour the Epoxy Resin? Or is it all right now or nothing?
OK. So now I've rewound the video 3 times and even watched it with my husband and I think I get it;
Jesmonites poured over Epoxy will never adhere. But, you can pour Epoxy Resin over Jesmonite and it WILL adhere.
So, if the uncured Jesmonite channel was such a big deal, why didn't you fill it with Epoxy Resin after you discovered it? These are beautiful! I'm just trying to find out if these are salvageable with your original idea. Or were you happy enough coloring it with the silver pen?
