I lost my mom a year ago,she use to buy clothes for me . Not because I could not effort not to but she knew exactly what looked good on me and what I would like . My mom knew her child. Missing her so much❤
Wait, stop it, I looove how fabulous these are! They are perfect on you, like they're made for you! I'm not from Africa or black but am I allowed to wear these? I like to keep my body covered but still want to feel beautiful and stylish 🥺🥲
The best part is the utter joy you exude gushing over yourself in your mother's gifts. The way you glow with unbridled happiness is what makes this video for me! ☺️🥰
Girl I’m just as excited as you and I’m an American that’s never heard of a boubou. So flattering on your body and your skin looks great in red. Beautiful.
Every woman should feel this beautiful and confident. These caftans are so chic and fit her personality beautifully! Her mom obviously put the love into choosing garments that that helped solidify the confidence she was instilled with through her guidance as a parent. This here is what love looks like! ❤
That isn’t a kaftan…unless a caftan is from somewhere else besides Morocco and it looks like this. There is something they do have that is similar, but I forgot the name
People underestimate how amazing it feels when your mom still sees clothing items and gets them for you because she thinks you would look good in it,im 27 and mom still does it for me ❤❤
I'm 26 and my Momma does it too, she'll also buy a second item of something she loves so we can share an item, even when it's less my style I wear them with pride. Just last week she bought me this kinda weird transformation off shoulders/sleeves onepiece because she thought it was versatile for summer nights and turns out I ADORE it lol. Mothers ARE the best 🥰
That second one was definitely see through from a distance but when you were close up it became more opaque, id definitely wear something under that if youre wearing it outside or around others 😅
Yo, I can testify to that " it's like she knows her child" feeling! It's almost 3am here in the Philippines and just an hour ago, I saw the new fits my mom got me and I tried 'em. This is exactly how I reacted in front of the mirror😂

For those wondering, it’s called a Bubu. There’s actually many variations of it all across Africa. The East African version from Somalia is called Baati/Dirac and this one, the West African version is called Bubu/Buba/Kaftan.
In the US they would most likely be sold as kaftans. They got popular here in the 60s and 70s and then mass marketed by designers like Halston. You'll mostly see them with beach wear or hawaiian print clothes now.
