That mountain retreat sounds like a dream! I love the idea of being close to nature with all the comforts of home.

I wonder how they knew you had guests and exactly it's a big house obviously it can accommodate a bunch of people. If that's a septic issue they need to improve their septic system. The location is beautiful but gees, paranoid me is wondering if they had hidden cameras in the place and if they were spying on you? It seems remote enough that they wouldn't know just by driving past? It's too bad the Florida place didn't have a canoe, row boat, paddle boat something to take advantage of that beautiful pier. Maybe that's an insurance issue?

They got a report from the garbage company that there was a car blocking the trash can. That’s how they knew. The owners were super nice. They lived two hours away. You are so right about the Florida cottage! Wish they had a boat of some kind!!!! 😁

I’m an Airbnb superhost (I absolutely hate VRBO, their app is so clunky and their fees are really high!). The septic may have been an issue for this particular host, but having more guests on the than listed on the reservation is a liability for the host. I can’t imagine a host having an issue with extra guests if it’s not above the max capacity they’ve sent, but it’s always good to let them know.
