The Latest Article on Force organization has made be excited with the new edition.
I've enjoyed 2nd edition since it's release.
Totally picking this up. Both factions have a place here.
Not liking it, rules be damned but having vehicles on both sides makes better box for new guys who will split it.
@zielisawzielony9366 Completely Agree, another US vs German with a a vehicle for only one side.
The bolt action content has been top tier! Keep it up king!!!
The winter american and german plastic sets are nice bits of kit! thanks for the review
With the Americans as regulars and the germans as vets the points are pretty even.
So seems balanced
I’ll be getting both eventually. So good. Love the new models.
New Article on Force construction as well!
Wow. What a starter set. This seems like a good way to give he game another try. I played only a little first edition, and liked it but life got in the way and I sold my stuff.
This one struck me like the Band of Brothers, close but not really balanced.
I just found out this game exists recently, and I’m happy that a UA-camrs I know actually makes vids on it
How can you have a battle at the Bulge? There isn't even any bamboo to make spears with.....
I dont get it?
@@Sevenfold120 MG Plays the Japanese and in Bolt Action the best spam list is bamboo spear fighters. It’s like a double inside joke.
@@TikitheHutt lol
I look forward to your bolt action unit reviews every week. Given that 3rd edition is coming out, would you consider doing a vehicle review one day a week and an infantry unit review another day? I was just hoping you could do bolt action twice a week
Bolt Action has always been my favourite game. Been playing since 1st Edition. Bring it on!
Putting up my bolters for some garands
Never played the game but really interested. I bought a couple boxes last month to get them ready for new edition. I’ll probably be getting this box as well. Thanks for the review. Is your fault I’m getting excited about the game. 😄
I once got asked to leave the hobby shop for bringing in my Flames of War German army lmao
I got an American force for boltaction and konflikt 47 for Christmas last year so I'm still going to the good old red white and blue
@Mordian Glory, love the review and the Bolt Action content as always. the new sprues are looking really good. perhaps we can get a review on the valentine tank and its variants including the gigachad Archer Tank Destroyer?
I’m going for the hardback rulebook only. I am actually more into the other starter sets theaters of war and i all ready have BoB. Looking forward to this!
Getting back in with a German Grenadier starter army, cos Puma, Stug and Pak 40 in one place was too good to pass up
Also got the book pre ordered
It doesn't even matter if it's balanced or not. Nobody getting into the hobby would feel good splitting a starter set when once force has 24 soldiers + a vehicle and the other has just 18 soldiers. Such a miss on warlord's side.
I love the new miniatures, they look great. The box doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, though. Even if, hypothetically speaking, the sides are balanced for 3rd edition, or if the miniatures are made with a very specific packet of scenarios in mind, it's a very poor deal for a current German player or someone just getting into Germans. If we assume that the new infantry boxes are going to run $60 USD for 30 minis (or 5 sprues), the German player is getting about $36 worth of miniatures, and the American player is getting $83 worth of miniatures. I wonder why Warlord did it this way? I was hoping for an article on their website explaining their thinking behind the box set.
Always fancied getting in to bolt action but all the battle reports I watch seem to be small infantry squads fighting each other at range needing 7’s to hit and then if they do hit they cause like 1 damage from a whole squad or some suppression. It’s like the squads run around firing blindly in the air and never really cause much damage. Also the games always seem very heavily infantry biased and I very rarely see any exciting tanks fighting off against each other?
Well the games main focus is heavily infantry centric, and the game generally has a really high time to kill. The game doesn't tend to focus around killing enemies, rather instead being objective heavy missions.
@@ethanklee9041 that makes sense then I guess 👍🏻
The newly release force org stuff makes it look like bolt action is going up to company scale so I think you will want a company sized force
Another Amazing video, but that's just my opinion man!!!
Looking forward to getting this box set in Australia. We got into bolt action last year when GW poo poohed 40k 😢. Now Alisio Calvadore and Andy Chambers are at Warlord Games I know where I will spend my money 😊.
The new Battle of the Bulge starter set looks great. I know that some U.S. soldiers lacked winter clothes at the start of the battle, hence the lack of winter camo, but I’m not a fan of the brown (nearly maroon) colour scheme in the sample photos. They’re practically Redcoats! The box art’s brown jackets look more authentic; I plan to paint them like that.
It’s disappointing that the Germans don’t get a vehicle (I know they’re paratroopers) but I suppose the terrain piece will be a good discount.
Not sure it works with the new list building.... Doh!
Are they still keeping the older winter germans kit?
Guard conversion material
Forget about that outdated gane
@@Pikilloification doubt it
Is there any info for konflikt 47 yet ?
Looks like a great starter set, though I won’t be buying it… I’m focussing on my DAK and 8th army, which look like I’ll be able to do more with in 3rd Ed. as well as starting off my British and German forces for Konflikt ‘47.
Just add the winter war German infantry heads and most of the bodies of the paras could be winter war late German Infantry
I've got concerns.
All the pictures show only 3 grey German order dice.
Me thinks Warlord may be laying on the grease with this 3rd edition...
I think it's an error with the image. The Americans have more dice than unit's
Might be balanced but as a starter i would like having both sides fielding all aspects of the game. In this case a vehicle. Just moving 2 or 3 squads of identical soldiers doesnt sound like much fun to me
Straight downgrade compared to Gentleman's War. Couples nicely with Band of Brother set though.
So, will this box give legal forces?
I mean, with the M8:M20 the Americans have an Armoured Platoon right? Doesn’t that mean they need a second vehicle?
Game called Bolt Action
Looks inside: automatic and semi-automatic weapons.
What djd they mean by this?
Banzai !!
I think this looks badass
I love the Battle of the Bulge, so I'm excited for the new miniatures.
I have no idea why Warlord Games is so abysmal at taking product photos though.
There is literally no indication that you're getting two vehicles until you view the entire slide show or read the entire product description.
Why is it so hard for them to take pictures?
I've got army sets here from them which don't even have a single picture on the box of what's inside.
It's infuriating.
I'm a bit upset that the "free" rulebook is just the mini rulebook with the absolute minimum too.
I also really want the Major Erwin Konig model and I'm also irritated that he's only available as a tournament prize. I don't do tournaments, so I'll probably never get it.
Damn it, it's not even two vehicles, it's only one.
It's literally Band of Brothers with five extra German infantry, and the Band of Brothers set got terrible reviews, so what's the big deal about this?
For $205 Canadian, where Band of Brothers cost me $150.
What?
Im rather dissapointed with this one who cares about winter themed infantry should be unique terrain and should be german artillery and tanks in that box
🦑🦑🦑🦑🦑🦑🦑🤙👍
No, I disagree. You have the assaulting force from the historical scenario, who should probably have been Panzer Grenadiers, inferior in numbers to the defending units and without any historical armoured units, like a STUG or MKIV. Very unbalanced kit.
Im a bit dissappointed with this box, the terrain is welcome if there were vehicles for both factions, plus I don't like the americans, and this was a huge opportunity to make a russians vs germans box. Specially since the whole war in Ukraine thing
