At last someone that actually knows how to make a tutorial. I must have looked at least 20 so called tutorials for this game that were a joke, they spoke and done stuff so fast you didn't have a clue as to what they were on about. So thank you Ic0n for making this proper tutorial. A natural teacher. Subbed.
Started yesterday and loved the mining but was annoyed that my energy going down instant. I forgot that there are Generator blocks or the tutorial does not show it well. Also that you can change the blocks in every dimensions is good to know. Thanks for this video.
It's been several years since I played this game back in 2017 I've made a ship that mines asteroids and salvages enemy ships. You could do quite a decent amount of damage as you salvage enemy ships while in combat back in those days.
I remember in the past I kept building ships backwards! back when the game got released. There was not much of an indication on which direction your ship was facing and I more than once built my ship backwards, went to place my thrusters anddddd got perplexed
Thanks for your nice words =) And don't worry, neither my tutorials nor the games in your backlog will go bad. Avorion is basically spaceship Lego and it's really cool. Cause you can build everything the way you want it. That amazing depth of freedom of building is pretty unique and lovely done imho.
I love your tutorials, great work as usual! You consistently choose interesting games, and present them in a clear and concise fashion. I'm curious, what's your accent?
You forgot to claim big asteroid and sell it for cash. There is always one in starting system. Also I'd rather find station that offer engineers and mechanics and build first ship near it (usually its an equipment dock)
i have a reconstruction site and lost 2 ships trying to recover another one with reconstruction kit. The option to recover my ships dont show on repair dock. What i hve to do?
Is there a way to extend the range of the mining turrets? I'm crashing into nearly every asteroid I come to because the range is so cray short. I would have expected the range to be 5 times the distance it is. You go from out-of-range, to crashed-into-it in about 3 seconds. Its not a fun experience so far.
Mining lasers have abysmally low ranges, that stays mostly like this. You will automate the mining though quite quickly and later there's mining drones as an alternative. But in all honesty, the close range is something you get used to and eventually you don't have to anymore at all. But yeah, the game IS clunky in many aspects, I don't want to sugarcoat anything here.
@Ic0nGaming thanks. I'm playing along side your tutorials, I'm about to reach the point where I buy a captain. How much iron / titanium / money should I aim for before building my first combat corvette?
How are you finding all the asteroids to mine them? I'm just flying around in circles in my, visually checking out every asteroid. I'm hours in and barely have over 10 K iron. The sector thing says there are nearly 3000 asteroids in this area, do I need to manually fly and visually inspect all of them? I suspect not, because that would be a very dull experience. Games I've played a bit of like this usually have a way to search / scan / list that type of thing. How are you finding yours, and how do we do it?
Oh it's been a damn long time but I vaguely remember that there's been scanning sub-systems highlighting asteroids with metals for you. They then get a color coding for the metal they contain. And those "should" be easily attainable in your home systems shipyard or such. I can't really remember anymore where subsystems where sold, I'm sorry ^^
@@kaligath6616 I'm talking hardware, not software. Post record editing takes a lot of processing power and right now I am lacking that. All my videos are recorded via OBS Studio ;)
Whats good about this is i believe you can download a App on your phone to act as a stream deck to transition to each point without even looking away from the screen.
Maybe one day you will surprise us with it! I played so much I burned out....also this avorion game kind of reminds my of a simpler and similar game called Cosmoteer, where u build your space ship and fight other ships and its free on itch io
Haha, I definitely don't know more than you :D I'm merely exploring the game and putting my experiences together so other people can enjoy this as well ^^ Feel free to leave some constructive advice, I'll appreciate it! :D

Agreed !
You know you can pause the video when somebody is going fast right lmfao

I tried this game on my own and was lost, this really helped, appreciated...thumbs up. Looking forward to the next vid.
I love the different ways Ore is said. Some say I-run, some say I-Urn
easy to follow along looking forward to giving it a go
man i love this channel so much, for some reason you always have the thing i need in the bag ❤

This guy... is amazing at what he does. Liked, Subbed.

You explain things really well!
This game looks super interesting. If I didn't have such a massive backlog I'd buy it today haha
Thanks for your nice words =)

You need to click to select the turret and then press the number key.
Thanks for adding it in! I do explain it in Episode 2 as well but it's nice that people can find it here too!
I always thought hover + pressing number works

Thank you for those kind words!
I'm from Germany ;)
Hah you sound like Smith from The Matrix. Good content.

thanks this was cool and helping
Your videos are always on point. Love them. You could invest into a studio microphone with a stand though. You can get some good ones at 50€+
great vid, subbed
bought this game a week ago and funny enough the tutorial said that "PRESSING S" doesn't help at all in decelerating only turning around

when I try to enter single player it says "connection refused: this server is private" what do I do?

@Ic0nGaming thank you, I'll go check it out
With your video editing i would say you should do a swipe animation rather then looking down at your second monitor and jumping to the next part.
Sure, give me some hardware for video edtiting and I'll do that instantly =)
@@Ic0nGaming OBS studio naturally is a good place to go its also free.

@@Ic0nGaming Your hardware should be fine to be honest causing a transition should not burden anything.

have u played Starsector before?
Yes, but I didn't sink my teeth very deep into it yet. I learned how to play it, but I haven't found the time to learn how to beat it yet :D

starter ship should have 15 engines and 15 mining lasers, nothing else
also make more videos so i can check if u know more about the game than me
