Hunting Horn I've always mained it and always will.
literally all of them. not kidding, i have an almost equal spread between all weapons with hbg being slightly behind the others.
SnS is my fav and correct description of my hunting style
charge blade. and man the tutorial took ages to get into my brain.
Dual blades are my favorite main weapon in MHW. You were correct with the adhd part but I've never had any interest in anime since I got too bored watching too many episodes of Naruto 5-7 years ago.
The charge blade problem is the instruction manual, it makes it look more complicated than it really is and i believe it omits certain important moves.

Rise made CB the near perfect offense=defense weapon. Once you learn the skillset, it becomes one of the most simple weapons to play through muscle memory.
I started using swaxe first and liked it, but I fell in love with charge blade immediately, And honestly it's not complicated at all. buff shield, buff sword, finishing move, repeat.

Dude you crossed the line with lance users, they are literally the entirety of the hunt right in the monster's mouth and are so chill and gentle (even tho they just hit 8 parries in the last 20 secons) i see them as calm and noble players
It's all about the stamina management or the parry timing and if you miss judge the monster you will probably take a big hit and cart. I think it takes balls of steel to use Lance although I personally think Spiral Thrust is the cooler and higher skill ceiling silkbind.

@@AloIan_Vulpix agreed, i will parry every magna tail shot and stand in a rajangs beam as i poke him in the face. I absolutely love the feeling of being a force that sure. May only poke but you never stop. Every attack the monster does is countered, blocked and doesn't even phase me in the slightest. You gotta roll and ill just counter. Unless its ambush

Mf knows nothing about lances, Monsters can't stand us, every move they do we parry it and we are always the first ones to reach the monster thrusting every part of it. We deserve recognition and respect
As a hunter that has been playing rise for a long while (SnS & lance main) honestly agree, face tanking attacks countering them and send it back with 10 times the pain is what we do, with rise basically giving lance a insta block counter that test your reaction time and monster knowledge each counter outplay feels amazing, following up with that cross slash, lance is good for team play taking aggro and stuff, but lance does incredibly well in solo play as well.. Hope they at least put in a few 100 quest into each weapon before doing this xD.. I can see all the lance users out there grabbing their lance.. Fun video tho

I love that most any of these will always say the insect glaive specifically "is just doing things, moving around, maybe helping. Keep doing what you're doing." For me personally yeah kinda. It's fun being able to dodge the monster.
IG is secretly one of the most powerful weapons in the game. When you get to the endgame builds, powered up jumping advancing slash can do 100+ damage per hit, averaging 4-5 hits a pass, three passes in a row, and then if you land a Diving Wyvern you’ll get an extra 800~1200 damage on top of that. Plus being able to spam Awakened Kinsect Attack with the new support bugs spawning free buff refills for ground combos and *chefs kiss* you’ve got lethality, accuracy, evasion, and repositioning all rolled into one weapon.
@@stiggles98 and elemental bow with berserker can do 1500+ damage per 3 hits with just the basic powershot without even trying.
@@stiggles98 Dont forget, its the only weapon that can cut, stagger, Poison, Paralyze, and provide healing all at the same time :)

Couldn’t disagree more regarding the Lance. While most weapons have you running away or dodging away from attacks, Lance mains tackle the monster head on. Doesn’t matter what it is, nothing’s getting past that massive shield. They’ll take a Diablos’ charge head on without breaking a sweat.
Lance mains are goated, i found lance too boring in world but became a go to in rise
Lance is by far the single most aggressive weapon in all of monster hunter. It is the one weapon that simply Does. Not. Stop. They will get right up in the monster's weak points and stick to it like glue, putting out an unending stream of damage with even stopping to dodge. And if the monster tries to attack them? Even better, they're going to counter it and turn that into a more damage right back in the monster's face. They'll stop everything short of scripted deaths with that shield too.
I think the true stereotype for charge blade is
“Oh man this is gonna do so much damage oh man I’ve been building up these phials for so long and I just missed completely and wasted all of them.”
As for the lance i think you missed the point, there's nothing a lance main likes more than monster's enmity prehaps its due to how many people who pick the weapon at first may think its to keep you safe but the more you use it the more you realize there're some things you don't wanna block
I picked up lance in rise, and learned very quickly that you don’t just wanna stand there blocking. Keeping the monster focused on you is quite the hefty task.
Oh thats the complete opposite of what i do. I will parry anything i can parry and counter things like rajangs laser beams to poke his face as i stand in it like a mad man, ill do the same with poison as it wont effect you if you counter it. I do that even to valtrax and literally block all oh his moves expect ambush (on ps4, ive heard valtrax in sunrise is different so ill have to see).
I found it out the hard way just yesterday. Not even a Chaotic GM lance could block an Astalos charged headbutt.
@@Megaokami_ that shield doesn't exist to keep blocking forever, the lance rewards you for using only when the hit comes so you can stay always on the offensive.
Increase it's ability to tank shit with Guard associated skills and then throw on the ability to recoil damage monster hits when they strike it (Sunbreak) and you can sit there for days tanking most of the moves in the game and deal good damage while you do it. Counter the ones you can and you can do a lot of damage. Just avoid massive explosive ones aimed at an area, as those will still fry you with one hit

IG main here. You remember that part of Ender's Game where he realized "down" was whatever direction he wanted it to be? That's what IG gameplay is like. You open up a whole new dimension of movement.
NOTE: I'm talking about the novel version of Ender's Game. I can't remember if they really highlighted that point in the movie.

It's good to see "what your weapon says about you" vids. I agree with switch axe. I was a defensive player in all games i played. I always prioritize defense and range to avoid damage. So i tried the weapons with shields and bows when i first started playing. When i got to switch axe, i have doubts at first coz there's not much defensive options, but i never thought i'd be having much fun being aggressive. Being in close range fighting with the monster and going full on offense is so much fun.
Switchaxe just feels right
As person who mained 7/14 weapons, i can say that i always feel safer with swagaxe, rather than with any other thing, even shield one.
Same, I always go for faster and sneaker weapons (Insect Glave was my first choice) but when I started using Switch Axe I think I reached my epiphany.
As a charge blade purist, I can say that it's not _inaccurate,_ but there's more to us than an instruction manual. There's also the part where it has decent options for every situation under the sun. Or the part where it lets you mitigate any particular disadvantage it has if you're willing to manage it. Or the part where SAED go boom. Few things are as glorious as when SAED go boom.
CB can be defined in 3 words

As a purist myself, I agree with all of this.
As a Lance player, I parry that, I parry that, and I parry that. But as a hunting horn main,I just roll with it and give them a jazz performance.
My reason for using Dual Blades is that I didn't like how oversized the other weapons were when I tried Monster Hunter for the first time. And now, the other weapons just feel too slow.
I started with long sword and I simply lost interest after 12 hrs. It was so slow and couldn't easily change slash direction during a combo. Sheathing unsheathing are so hectic. 6 months later now after some advice I picked up dual blade and I am having so much fun doing Levi slash all over the place😂. I really vibe with it
Thank you for giving some respect to us bowgun users. I've seen a lot of people making fun of my weapon just because we're fighting from a distance. Or they say we're playing the wrong game.

Bowgun users make my grinding faster. Keeping playing your weapon! Makes it easier for me to farm what i need for my new layered armors lol
@@xamnoir we're a good combo 😂 it's great having a bowgun on the team with a constant stream of damage, plus a variety of useful status effects and elements they can swap on the fly, and they're a fantastic party member
@@benmccarroll117 sadly l have 0 status effect rounds :c But l got crap ton of pierce rounds! 1-2-3 and all the elemental puerce! I may get a mod to see how much dmg l do during a hunt, l'm curious.
as a hammer main, the phrase "60% of the time it works 100% of the time" is entirely too true. the only strategy a hammer main has is positioning really: 1) next to head 2) have flinch free and slugger three 3) bonk.

As a greatsword user i feel like we all wanna be guts from berserk
I have builds for all weapons but I mainly use Dual Blades (Started with Charge Blade in base Rise then transitioned to DB in Sunbreak) and man the mobility and rush I get when I just jolt around slashing and drilling is so fun. I love my Dual Blades specially in Rise Sunbreak with Shrouded Vault + Spiral Slash.

Ironically, I'm the strategist of my group, always looking at the hunter's notes for HZVs, elemental weaknesses, and drop rates.

Also, I don't think Lance users know fear. They also excel in solo. Like longsword, the weapon is at its best when they have aggro.
agree,Lance parry counters consistent 300-500 dmg. , solo + all aggro = easy counter.

I just started playing the game yesterday and after much deliberation I chose to Main Lance. Mostly because I like being right up in the monster's face not giving a shit if it's attacking because I can just guard counter everything. I'm still new to MH, with Rise being my second MH game, and I've only fainted once so far and I'm up to 3 star quests, and that was to a rogue Barroth that stunlocked me with that stupid charge attack that I can't get away from because I don't have evade extender yet.

@@quacc9470 I have no idea lmao. I forgot that move existed. Actually, I don't even know if I have that switch skill unlocked yet lol. I just recently unlocked Shield Charge, which kinda sucks imo. It's supposed to do huge KO damage but I have yet to KO a monster with it because it's so fucking hard to aim lol
@Pravus Anchor Rage is a default switch skill. It's your silkbind (uses a wirebug) counter.
As a lance main, I'm offended. Lance may be heavy on the guard, but we use that to commit to the most aggressive play style you can find in Monster Hunter.
I think you've kinda got lance and gunlance mixed up there. Lance is about never leaving the monsters mouth/belly while parrying every attack, while gunlance players will slip in and out of the dangerzone with blastdash to lay down the hurt
As a hammer user (and hunting horn secondary), I say these are about accurate.
Also i just really like launching in the air and doing dash breaker into a Kulu to break their precious vase. HH is just cause its when i die too many times from doing said things.
Lance can be a crackhead if you play it right, as well as having the beautiful, crisp insta block

fr, dodgebolt bows if anything favorite spot is being close and dodging attacks head on. Nothing more satisfying bullying almost every move a monster makes with absolute percision.
A true Lance main knows the effectiveness of simplicity. Our "Baby Shield" is a babies way to describe it, hate all you want but we never die and we are consistant while you main greatsword and keep missing your true charged slash.
I play over half of these weapons. And now I come to realize. I am a maniac. But yes bonk it is.
I don't get the Gunlance trauma thing but the need for explosive violence is accurate.

So far I stick to two weapons: Switch Axe for bulky monsters with no tail and Dual Blades for any monster with a long spine to dance stab (Gaismagorm and Narwa are basically huge pincushions, but Rajang? Not at all).

I main hammer and I must admit, there's something satisfying about going for the head or any weak spot, and when the monster gets knocked down OOOOOHHHHHHHHH BIG BANG TO IMPACT CRATER LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO or courage mode giving third charge's whenever you preform the golfswing move is so awesome. I love hammer so much, too bad it's one of the only weapons I'm good at, maybe Hunting Horn but that's it, I just like punching things and hammer just gave me that fix.
I used to be a hammer bro until I saw just how big the numbers of gs go. I am now a hammer bro secondary for stuff like barroth but nothing feels better than true charge

My favourite weapon (and the only one I actually more or less mastered) is the Sword and Shield weapon.
And playing mobile and safe might be an understatement considering my build...
I have long dashes, regain sharpness for briefly avoiding attacks and due to combination af several different augmentations, I get buffed for literally everything else I do as well, including sliding, getting knocked back, recovering from statusses, making the monster mad, etc.
So that description is pretty accurate 🤣
Goodluck with your channel mate, you have a good base here, production wise. BUT if I may give some honest feedback it reminds me a bit too much of falcon (jake baldino) from gameranx. It could be in the writing style or editing. If you find more of your own twist to it, you will create more authenticity. It will take time, but I’m sure you’ll find it.

that is so spot on for the reason I use the bow. Yeah, I like to keep my distance hehe. Also, I began to appreciate status ailments on Monster Hunter World and bow is when I feel most comfortable. Sure the bowgun is more effective all around but I feel more at home with the bow

Gunlance go boom and no monster can stop me. Ignoring hard parts on monsters and just shelling on repeat with wide shot is my favorite pastime.
Im a dual blade user and i dont watch anime, i use it mostly for mobility im an new mh player that started on rise and dual blade is kinda perfect for me i can dodge way fastri than other weapons and getting an combo with it is just pretty nice looking, im training to get good at switch axe too
With evade extender you can practically dance around the monster with switchaxe like dual blades, hope you're enjoying the game!

As a lance main I am triggered right now. Lol jk but on a serious note I've always seen the lance as the opposite of what you described. The way the moveset of the lance works is so you can spend the whole hunt in the monsters face going blow for blow. Monster attacks you counter and attack back. The monster does a big attack, you use a different counter and then add the monsters power to your attacks. To me the lance always kinda felt like rock em sock em robots in steroids

man, tbh I tried the bow on rise (tried every weapon on 69 hunts each) and I always stood super close to the monster because I loved spamming the parry-evade move. Still great content man!
huh, this was a fine gem to find. Not sure what you call this format but it is surprisingly nice with a fair bit of humor and jabs, but not condenscending like the ones i usually find. Considered me subscribed, and yes, juggling ammo as a lightbowgun user, especially when you get into both managing your own dps, avoiding attacks, and seeing when an attack may hit a teammate, switch to recovery ammo and douse em with lots of "friendly fire" while anticipating where they will be if they wirefall escape. And also yes, longsword please stop hitting me..
One extra though more tedious bit to point out about recovery ammo is how selective you can be about it, just incase you got someone running heroics, adrenaline or dragonheart etc etc, something dust of life ignores and makes those extreme types sometimes a bit, shall we say, absolutely livid.
As a db one-trick, I can confirm that I have a slight adhd. I just love being right next to the monster, I-framing their attacks with the demon mode dash (which I had an eyegasm when I saw arch-demon mode had the dash in Rise), and watching the numbers go brrrr. A simple life. I also only use normal demon mode because feral demon mode is just too slow for me
I feel low-key targeted as a DB main. In World and Iceborne, I took IG as a secondary weapon, and that feels accurate enough. I just like dodging monster attacks, and attacking when I can. That being said, Hammer is the only other weapon I feel comfortable learning for Rise. IG feels too weird with the wire bug mechanic, and I’ve always thought the other weapons were too clunky. Is Hammy clunky? Yes, but it’s supposed to feel like that since it’s a blunt weapon. GS, Lance and the bowguns just feel as if they’re slowing me down more than they need to for no reason whatsoever.

I have yet to dive into Rise, but plan to. Currently a hunting horn main in world. Building up buffs and bonking monsters is very satisfying (I do also play a big instrument irl).

I mained Bow back in MHW (but haven't played Rise), and it's not surprising how this is still completely accurate. All I wanted to do is dodge in the nick of time and look cool as hell while doing it. Also it's really satisfying launching that huge arrow and seeing flying wyverns come crashing down.

Tbh I think the Charge Blade is way easier to use than the Greatsword once you have figured out how to switch modes and how the discharge works.
10 minutes intimacy with the training dummy and you should be good to go.
I really admire people who are good with the Greatsword, its way easier to miss your swings with that huge hunk of metal than it should be :'D

As a heavy bow gunner you are correct on everything except one part.
You will always see me face tanking the monster.
Becouse guard up shield mod and maniacal laugh at any and all attack that come towards me is always entertaining.
Also it puts me in range for wyvern blast and makes buffing people easier because it’s point blank.
As a Hammer main, I can agree, we do live for the big bonk
