I will be in Amsterdam in mid-July, my third time this year. I really enjoy watching your videos. It would be fun to meet for coffee or lunch. Do you ever have local meetups?
The third time this year? That's a lot in a short time. Where do you live? And what makes you come back to Amsterdam 3 times in a row? (work?) Yep I had some meetups. You mean with subscribers, right? It happened either on appointment or by randomly stumbling into them on the streets.
@msterdam I am from California, but live in Omaha, Nebraska. I am retired now. I lived in Europe in the 90s. I have always loved Amsterdam and the Netherlands. About 5 years ago, I started traveling again and have made many Dutch friends.
I have the suspicion that Wandering Europe just had Chat-GPT write a script and he matched that with other people's videos and read it into a microphone. The text is just a collection of tourist information blurbs and not something written up from a personal visiting experience.
Best advice? Do none of these things. Turn your phone off, look around, get lost, and dare to engage a Dutch person in a political debate. Then go home. Oh yah, turn your phone back on.

Nobody mentions the smell from the canals especially after Koningsdag 😂
Haha ye actually! Every year I see dozens of people use the canals as a toilet... manmanman...😓
lol 😅I like this reaction you haven’t lost your touch after the long break!
AI will not be able to replace you Tycho they can’t copy your sarcasm 😎
Thanks Eric! Very nice to read this. (And I'll get to your requests as well)
Hi nice presentation 👍
Thanks so much😄⚡️
the japanese part was golden. 😭
Haha thanks Nate!
I'm not trying to be funny here, but Tycho and Anne Frank has very similar faces.
My reaction to this “best thing to do” video is that it was not good.
The best thing to do in Amsterdam is go on the FREE ferry. Oh and not get killed by the cyclists. That was free too 😊
Actually yes! The free ferry (especially from Central to NDSM) is really one of the top free things to do👌
Best advice? Do none of these things. Turn your phone off, look around, get lost, and dare to engage a Dutch person in a political debate. Then go home. Oh yah, turn your phone back on.
Ye getting lost is indeed fun. No cheating on Google Maps. Just walk around and go far😄 I like to do this as well when I'm in a new city
You’re cat has a weird sounding voice.
hahaha! I've gotten quite used to it, it sounds like music to my ears now :)
