Henry is my uncle from Roxboro, North Carolina. He is dear missed. We always had great fun in concerts. Roxboro always drew large crowds when the Imperials sang here in Roxboro.
I grew up hearing this song in my beautiful isle of St. Vincent back in the 1950s...only to discover its absence from hymnbooks. On Wikipedia I read that after it was played at the funeral of a US President it was called all kinds of names and left out. But Just listening to these groups singing lifts up my spirit again. Thanks for posting .
Whoever put this personnel together, I presume Bill and Jake, did a great job of matching Bobby Caldwell with Armand Morales and Terry Franklin with Shaun/Sherrill Nielsen.
On January 22nd, 1934, Avis Hope, Bob Hope’s beloved mother, died of cervical cancer. He flew to Cleveland for her funeral, bringing along opera singer Kirsten Flagstad, who sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”, one of his mother’s favorite hymns, at the service. Info from “Hope” by Richard Zoglin.

Love this one! Jake Hess always has something special to add 🙏🎤🙏
Terry Franklin is still my favorite GVB tenor. Such a pure and pleasing, natural tone.
The great Henry Slaughter. Loved it.

This sounds so much like the original Imperials that I seen back in the mid 60's.

The awful hair pieces in gaither VEVO are horrible. Can somebody explain what is wrong with a bold head ?
Ha ha ha I know just what you mean. It must take some guts to do so.
Close your eyes and listen. Who cares what's on their heads. 😄🙏❤
Gerry Moore I agree!
