- Wow, these two. Together they're amazing. This was so much fun. I'm amazed I wasn't up and dancing when recording this. I was in the zone when I was composing it.

So stoked for my DT2 to arrive, the original and Syntakt have been the root of my music since I’ve had them.
A classic pairing already. Made even greater with the DT2. The only problem is, it makes the Syntakt feel pretty limited when you have tasted the delights of the workflow improvements. Have fun when it does arrive!
@@DanChippendaleMusic I feel that. I’ve got to believe the Syntakt will get some of these updates, given that it’s only 2 years old. Euclidean for sure, maybe even Chorus. Hard to say beyond that. We could use some new machines, too.
@@robertgarvansnyder4665 I reallyyyy hope so. Chorus definitely. How hard can that be. I'd most likely the ability to merge 4 tracks to make 4 voice polyphony. Or polyphony of some sort. It's crying out for it! I still love it but I'm sure it's got the power for a few more party tricks

Glad you like it 🫶 Routing is pretty simple. I've got a Keystep 32 under my desk going into a U6MIDI Pro splitter. Digitakt 2 MIDI out also going into the U6MIDI Pro then the three MIDI Outs on the U6MDIDI Pro going to MIDI in on DT2, ST and Rev 2. I use the auto channel on the Elektron boxes so I can play and of them with the keystep.
@@DanChippendaleMusic Oh nice to use the U6MIDI, didn't thought about a splitter/merger device, that's an interesting idea. I'm considering to add a DT2 to my synth setup along the ST and a Keystep pro too, this helped a bit thank you!
@@lucasmartinez4248 TheU6MIDI is pretty good, just get the software and and configure the ins and outs in a few mins. It's by far the best MIDI device I've used as you can customise which post do what

Love these jams, thanks for sharing. I've noticed I have to raise the main output volume of my Syntakt when routed into my DT2 to get a good mix. And even setting the Ext Mixer on the DT2 and Syntakt track volume to 127. Do you have any tips for audio routing these two devices? Thanks!
Thank you! Glad you like what I'm making ☺I was working on something just now and the Syntakt was at max volume but really quiet, but then I checked the compressor on the DT2 and in inputs weren't routed through the compressor. I added them and then things were a lot better. DT2 vol is now at 3/4s and ST is about 2/3rds. It's always a bit of a struggle making the mix spot on with Elektron gear. You really have to crank them at times

I never owned an Elektron device but I have a force, live 2, sp404mk2, push2, maschine mk3.
Im thinking of adding an elektron device either syntakt or dt1 or 2. I also play house music. What do you think i should get?
@@vergellim7361 thanks 👍👍 sounds like you have a lot of gear and have a lot of bases covered already. I guess it boils down to whether you prefer sampling or synths. I really love the Syntakt. Such a fun synth to programme and if you spend enough time with it you can make so really great patches in no time at all. I couldn't say which would be best for you. Might be best to write a short list of things you feel you need for your set up and see which one fits best 👍
@@DanChippendaleMusic I dont need another sampler but I like the digitakt sampling - sound design - sequencing.
At the same time I like to have the sound presets of the syntakt and just tweak without worrying about sampling
@@vergellim7361 yeah was going to say, you have sampling covered. The Syntakt could be the one then. My only negative is that it's monophonic. Obviously you can copy patches between tracks and make polyphonic sounds but its a bit annoying you cant play chords. But i still love it and wont ever sell it. The absolute best thing about Elektron boxes is the random button. Just randomise the Synth page and you get amazing starting points for patches. Anyway, whatever you decide to do, the Elektron way of doing things is so fun once you get used to it. Easily my favourite way of sequencing, and I've owned a lot of gear 😅

Nope. It's not available for the Digitakt 2 yet. But I don't use it anyway. I prefer to try and get my mix sorted while I'm getting the track together and then just record the master out directly into Logic. I can definitely see the benefits of Overbridge but I sort of have a mental block about it and want to keep my DAWless as DAWless as possible 😀

Don't stop using them! Whats the thing next to your chroma console, and you mind telling how youve connected them with the elektron boxes?
Oh that's a Boss Rv-200 reverb pedal. It's pretty cool. Has some decent algorithms. I have the DT2 as the 1st box. MIDI it to the Syntakt and midi then goes from ST to my Prophet. The audio from the prophet goes into the Rv200, then into CC, then into the ST in, finally the ST out goes into the DT in. That sounds really complicated but it's pretty straightforward. I might do a routing video at some point. People often ask 😁

@@optikronix Yep that's right. So far just the prophet is getting effects. I might reroute at some point as the CC is great on the entire mix. But for not I'm just keeping it simple.
