This is one of those songs I hear years later as a musician, and I still don't understand how this was composed.. imma say magic, 🙄 R.I.P. Justin Lowe..
What I love about this song is that the majority of it is played on 6 strings, just in Eb Standard, and even those sections are fucking brutal. After The Burial prove you don't need downtunings to be heavy, just use them as emphasis.
@@timmt2884 that new BOO is alright imo. I miss the discovery and tomorrow we die alive. Stoked on the new ATB tho, that new single Behold The Crown slaps

Thank you Sumerian Records being as conscious of a label as you guys are . Signing real musicians who play real music about things that matter in this world . 3rd eye sharp guys .
there are even better one and even on that album they have at least one better. still one of the best in history. 27.1.16 I finally see them live again. my prayers were heard
I havent listened to them in years and im about to see them tomorrow with knocked loose.. this is the after the burial that i remember i hope they play some of their older shit like this lol
Saw these guys preform this song at Port City Music Hall in Portland, Maine in early 2012. Best show ever! They came with Within The Ruins, Last Chance To Reason (a local but very talented progressive metal band) The Plot In You, Miss May I, and with Whitechapel headlining. Such a fucking brutalll showwwwww.
Saw these guys open a show for AILD and they honestly made them look terrible. They had the crowd going insane, it was the best concert of my life and the lead guitarist flex was so stylish he reminded me of Van Halen with his swagger and ease of play.
I remember the days when I had dialup...Of course it was slow as shit and every song I wanted to hear on YT took about 15 or 20 min to load up. This was the best I had at the time and I also came from a small town of 800 people in Oklahoma. So discovering new music was something I had to use the internet for. So before school (junior high) I would open up probably 20 tabs each with a different song on UA-cam. I remember as SOON as I got home I would drop my bag on the floor and run into the office room to listen to what I had loaded up. That and Limewire was how I discovered new shit. And Berzerker by ATB was one of them and I was hooked ever since as they got me into metalcore. I know I sounded like one of the cool kids lmao
that's.. too slow i think? the perfect BPM to two step is 3:53 off Attack Attack's Smokahontas (music video), or 1:48 of Parkway Drive's Gimme A D. or am i two stepping wrongly lol! @@TifffanyTaylor
@alexiluffy216 seen em live so many times in Georgia & Alabama & unanimously, everybody that moshed at all started 2 stepping. All the other stuff is way too fast or is just a full on breakdown.

These guys are the reason why I play low tunings. They were my best friends favorite band. He past away at 15 by self induced alcohol poisoning non accident. He had mental issues. This is my friends anthem.
One of those original bands to use 8 strings. Here I am as a later musician was asking another guitarist if he could play after the burial on a 7 string 😅
i first started listening to after the burial when my friend put this song while playing Doom ever since then i cant stop listening to them i need to get another drum set i would love to learn to play these songs
Im hearing a lot of as i lay dying and born of osiris influence, then a heavy chelsea grin sounding breakdown with guitar melodies that remind me of a more technical bullet for my valentine. Great fucking song \m/
These guys are the fate of Metal. In a scene of generic breakdowns, a scene where bands are slammed into a genre, and where it is hard to stay relevant. This band does it all they take almost every genre of metal and make it their own and personalize it to make beautiful intense blood boiling pissed off music. Thank you After the Burial.

Absolute savages. That's who

Huge loss to the music community. I'm still in denial at times.
Justin Lowe and Paul Gray are the examples of the term, "Silent Talent".

they shred like crazy but still use logical phrasing, I've played with tons of guitarists that don't comprehend consistent phrasing.
Yes, exactly.
