- This edit shows the FULL speech of Cpt .Jonathan Archer (Startrek Enterprise 419) in a Mirror universe from the Episode "in a mirror Darkly" The babies of the editor room however have cut out the last fragment of the speech so I thought "We are all grown-ups, now" and added the background music in, but his voice sounds a bit hollow. (I think it should have never been cut out!)
Director: "Scott, feel free to ham it up"
Scott Bakula: "To what extent?"
Director: "Shatner"
Scott Bakula: "...My God"

Except that he is telling his Crew to Rebel against the Empire in order to Stop other Rebels. Since this Archer is killed in the end- Assassinated by his own People- then he is not as Smart as he thought he was.
@@HoldenNY22Most people don't understand alternate reality especially writers. The writers of the Original Mirror Mirror can be excused. Later ones not at all. A war on both earths happens like 1000+ years ago. The only difference is just one person dies over there lives here. Different decisions made in both realities with and without this same person. It effects who was born on those Earths. Long enough time you will have different populations on both worlds. All because of one person who did or didn't die in one war.

Yeah, they ended Enterprise as it was starting to get good. Because of it's cancellation, we'll never know what happened to Mirror T'Pol, Phlox or if Reed recovered from his serious injuries. Also if that drug Hoshi put in Archer's drink actually killed him or just knocked him unconscious. And if Tucker became loyal to Hoshi after declaring herself Empress like Mayweather did.

Notice that Bakula's ISS uniform is almost exactly the same shade & fold as Shatner's...
He found that uniform in the Defiant's captains quarters, if I remember correctly.

I’m just surprised that Archer dared step off the Defiant.
And doubly surprised that nobody left aboard got the idea to ram a photon torpedo or ten up the Avenger while he was there.
That was dirty, underhanded and downright distasteful. I love the mirror universe.

I really loved this episode. It was dark and done to near perfection. This was also the perfect mid-season break from the ongoing storyline. However, I did have one issue with this episode.... Everyone knows that the evil version of characters must always sport a goatee! I really needed Captain Archer in a goatee!

So because the ISS Enterprise NX-01 was destroyed in Part I and there's no NX-01 in Part II at all, they brought in the ISS Avenger so we still had an NX-class ship appear in Part II to remind viewers they're still watching ENTERPRISE. lol

The problem is the fans themselves, we didn't support the shows, we complain so much about this form of entertainment the producers just say screw it we will make a generic form of trek for a wider audience and make what we can. I'm guilty I didn't start really watching Enterprise until it hit Netflix. It's one of my favorites now.

I couldn't agree more. I think it was the intro imo, that's what i seemed to hear people moaning about, and didn't commit to the show. I'm a true fan, and therefore watched it religiously. Everyone else bailed and let the series down. It's a real shame, because It does stand the test of time, and Is really good Star Trek!

I think thats because i never had a wrong word to say about it. Start to finish it was a favourite of mine and brings back good memories of Sunday afternoons.
A lot of thewriters are also to blame though, I have the novel of Star Trek Nemesis and the writer (John Logan) was asked to sit down with Brent Spiner and Rick Berman and he knew more about the show than the creators and actors cause he is an ardent trek fan and most writers aren't so you end up with haphazard episodes of mishmash the writers and producers know nothing about.

This Storyline around Mirror Archer plays up the Nazi angle way more. People only rebelled against him, because he was likely to go full holocaust on Vulcan.

TOS Klingons were very explicitly the USSR. Indeed "Undiscovered Country" was inspired by the fall of the USSR:

Yesterday's Enterprise is our only look at what the Mirror Universe TNG could look like (Combat knives, more militarized Interior sets, less comradery or socialization among officers, devastating warfare) the only thing missing is the fascistic Terran Empire and the label ISS in the Enterprise-D registry.
@@ColonelBragg Wesley was already an acting Ensign in the actual Timeline which is just as bad if not worse than in a purely military organization (Chekov was an Ensign at 17 in the Kelvin Timeline) the script for yesterday's Enterprise had Wesley getting decapitated by debris when the Enterprise-D is getting pummeled by Klingon Disruptor Fire.

This is a great scene (at least for me- I live for cheesy Trek), but shooting for it started off with the bad news that Enterprise was going to be cancelled.
This is a sequel to ''The Tholian Web '' TOS episode .
So, at this point (and also when the Vulcans first arrived on Earth), the Empire has already lasted for centuries. Also, by the point Kirk met the Mirror Universe, it had already gone through another divergence event, a rebellion which brough it to the brink of defeat.
The cut part of the speech (seen here) was meant to imply that the empire is an iteration of the Roman Empire which never fell.
