Bill believes that Rangers should lose their titles if the dual contract case goes against Rangers, while Hugh Keevins argues otherwise. Whether Celtic "bottled it" or not, Flanders is completely ignorant and dismissive of the fact that the tax avoidance in EBTs and the associated dual contracts would give Rangers an unfair sporting advantage over the whole season and not just in a single competitive game.

using that 1 championship it's not decided on the final day, hence why it's called a championship and not a cup. They had an unfair advantage for the entire season which would mean they would not have been in the running come the final game. So the other clubs can't then claim trophies that wasn't part of their history when they never won those trophies/cups. History isn't something you can change to suit the agenda of those who want more glory, the past isn't something you can change. I tell you why it's not that simple also shall i? Because Celtic have lost cups in recent years to teams that haven't used unfair advantages regarding finance, so you are merely assuming that the rest of Scotland would've won those trophies. Who's to say Rangers wouldn't have won what they did had they not used EBT's? You're just assuming Celtic or other clubs would've won those cups instead, which isn't a strong case for your argument that clubs outside Rangers can make claim to said trophies. You're just assuming.
I didn't say I wanted the trophies but rangers shouldn't have them ether. If rangers didnt get those players through EBTs im sure they wouldn't have won those in the first place. That is an assumption yes but a informed one.

Hugh its quite simple. Rangers bought 0players and paid them wages that , if they had went through the proper channels they COULDNTVE AFFORDED THEM. It's simple. Paying lower wages so as to pay less national insurance then paying the same players "under the table" it's the single biggest sporting disgrace in the world of sport. I dont say Celtic should be awarded (although let's face it they wouldve won the titles if it was all above board) but rangers should be stripped or the very least an asterisk placed beside them. EVERY club in Scotland were cheated out of money none more so than Celtic. Also the other way to look at it is that rangers by not paying their due taxes took money and equipment from the armed services (which they love to pay lip service to, celtic dont yet Celtic give 10k every year to the poppy appeal while charity money from the old crocs game v ac milan glorie was STOLEN) the bare faced cheek that rangers and their fans show is incredible. They took money from the NHS coffers and from what I'd say a large proportion of their own fans social security. It is almost incalculable how much Celtic alone have been cheated out of for winning but also potential champions league earnings. I've said the same thing thos guy says , rangers are a newco when it suits them I.e not paying debts but then they are the same club when it comes to trophies. I was gutted that we lost the title in 2005. Yes we lost it on the pitch and maybe Hugh Dallas should have awarded us a penalty that would have made it 2nil. However that was lost on the pitch.
Off the Pitch tho, if Rangers hadn't used that scheme would they have been able to get those players in? I don't think so. This scandal is similar to the Salary cap scandal in Melbourne in 2009. I don't think Celtic should be given the trophies, but Rangers should of had them stripped.

This diddy Bill fails to realise that Rangers already said that their advisors said EBTs were legal at the time and furthermore if the board at the time had been advised otherwise they would still have paid the same amount of money for and to the players anyway. Maybe they should be asking where their gate money went from the era when the club were run by the Kelly’s , White’s and McGinn’s for around 50 years when Celtic Park was full to the brim, no seats, all standing, around 70/80 thousand fans week in week out yet the ‘official’ gate figures were around 35/40 thousand fans. So for around 40/50 years Celtic were falsifying their gate receipts and that means their tax bill was being ‘avoided’ to the tune of around 50% for every home game. So Bill, are you trying to suggest that none of that ‘stolen’ fans money didn’t go towards paying and keeping the first team players that Celtic had during that era? I we all follow ‘your’ logic then your 9 in a row was paid for by stolen gate money and Rangers should get awarded these 9 seasons league titles, ya fanny.
