@@alfydarkdeadly This is not bullying, assault or threatening. The hunters are allowed to legally hold this nonce until the police arrive and arrest it. They also hand all the evidence they have over to the police in order to get a conviction. Anything the nonce says on camera during the sting can also be used as evidence in a court of law which means it is not being assaulted. These hunters catch nonces and therefore are not hindering the police. In fact they are helping the police. It's the nonces who bully and assault children.

Before being questioned he would have to be cautioned. The police would issue the caution. These vigilantes didn't issue any form of caution. Anything he says on camera would be inadmissible as he would state that he felt intimidated to do so. They took the phone off him and he can deny that the phone belonged to him. If he was prosecuted this video would be used by his defence as they would state that it could have been seen by any juror and they would therefore be influenced by anything he said while intimidated under caution.
They should have collected their evidence, gave it to the police and let them arrest him.

He was harassing what he thought was a 14 year old girl sent her disgusting pictures and harassed her for pictures and he was doing it on his mother's devices. What will happen next is the police will arrest him amd bail him the next morning then he'll be given a house and protected to the hilt!! A charity will give him a phone so he can email his lawyer but I can assure you he's been online again the filthy pos. They have evidence and he turned up to meet them, so no, he's not innocent but that will be to the court to make a decision. As for telling him to keep his hands out of his pockets, yes they do have that right since they have a right to use reasonable force to place someone under citizens arrest, obviously he could have a sharp object so for their own safety he is telling him to keep his hands out of his pockets just as the Police would.

They had every right to detain him - he was committing a serious indictable offence by turning up to meet a minor following sexual grooming. It is an offence carrying mandatory imprisonment for no less than a year, and the sentences handed out are often for much longer.

His grooming and intent to commit a future offence are irrelevant as he isn’t performing that offence at the time they were holding him. However, there is the offence of assault and if they’d have touched him there’d also be battery.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for just a moment here... The truth of the matter is that he DIDN'T have any conversations or chats with any underage children. He was conversing with adults whom he ostensibly THOUGHT were children but which, ultimately, were NOT. He COULD, theoretically speaking, claim that he knew all along that they were adult decoys and that he was just playing along just to see how far they would go and that it was all part of some elaborate game. Again, I'm only playing devil's advocate here.
This was my first encounter with the site and I guess I didn't pay attention but I initially thought it was the police that were doing the interrogation.
