You can name every singers out there, from Demi to Ariana to Sabrina to Dua, Christina is always someone they name as their vocal inspiration. In a way, Christina is like the new Whitney. When Christina was a new singer, Whitney was always someone she would always namedrop as her vocal inspiration, along with Etta. So you may try to diminish Aguilera's impact, say she's a flop now because she currently has no hits on the chart, but one thing is for sure: her legacy is intact. She is a force to be reckoned with and THE voice of her generation. I'd go on to say that, even with some so-so performances, she is still the best mainstream vocalist of the past 25 years, or since Whitney, Mariah and Celine.

I got into Raye’s music in Jan 2024 and absolutely LOVE her voice, her sound, and the way she writes a story. She’s unfortunately part of the wrong generation of artists bc no one appreciates real talent anymore. If it were the 2000s, she would’ve blown up and been considered one of our best female vocalists by now. Kids today just want mediocre sounds, pretentious lyricism, and manufactured looks. Seeing Raye sitting on a couch with Christina Aguilera is so refreshing because it proves to me that she is in fact real talent being recognized by a legend! 🖤

@@Fierra2000 Honestly I didn't need Christina to realize the crazy talent and potential of RAYE, that was obvious right from the start (six months in...) - in my case it's the other way round: I thought Christina was just another one of those pop singers on the radio and never really paid attention to her, it only changed when she got my attention because she started promoting RAYE, I thought "Well, she has some taste in music and knows real talent, maybe I should start to really check her out... and so far I'm pleasantly surprised, listened to Back to Basic yesterday and am now listening to Stripped. Think I still prefer RAYE's tone and timbre (and accent...), but these two albums are definitely loaded with some very delicate vocals, amazing palette of colors, and I really like most of the songs and arrangements... Don't think they will go on heavy rotation over here as RAYE's albums do, but some of the songs will definitely get a second or third listen, I think "Impossible" might really grow on me, just listening for the first time, for me as a jazz and blues enthusiast that's the vibe! And the Xtina can sang without any doubt.. Love "Underappreciated" as well, great brass, bass and funk guitar, nice flow...

I got into Raye’s music in Jan 2024 and absolutely LOVE her voice, her sound, and the way she writes a story. She’s unfortunately part of the wrong generation of artists bc no one appreciates real talent anymore. If it were the 2000s, she would’ve blown up and been considered one of our best female vocalists by now. Kids today just want mediocre sounds, pretentious lyricism, and manufactured looks.

@@Fierra2000 Honestly I didn't need Christina to realize the crazy talent and potential of RAYE, that was obvious right from the start (six months in...) - in my case it's the other way round: I thought Christina was just another one of those pop singers on the radio and never really paid attention to her, it only changed when she got my attention because she started promoting RAYE, I thought "Well, she has some taste in music and knows real talent, maybe I should start to really check her out... and so far I'm pleasantly surprised, listened to Back to Basic yesterday and am now listening to Stripped. Think I still prefer RAYE's tone and timbre (and accent...), but these two albums are definitely loaded with some very delicate vocals, amazing palette of colors, and I really like most of the songs and arrangements... Don't think they will go on heavy rotation over here as RAYE's albums do, but some of the songs will definitely get a second or third listen, I think "Impossible" might really grow on me, just listening for the first time, for me as a jazz and blues enthusiast that's the vibe! And the Xtina can sang without any doubt.. Love "Underappreciated" as well, great brass, bass and funk guitar, nice flow...
