    I loved using fabric starch to adhere fabric to walls and closet doors. It is a technique that I learned in the early 80's. Removal is easy.

      We submerged the fabric in the starch, squeezed out the excess and then put it on the wall.

      Hi, for your low light solution have you considered an overhead chandelier corded light fixture that drapes from the ceiling . I know IKEA has them.

    Love the upgrades! A couple pieces of advice: 1. Most closet doors like that are really easy to take down. There's a little wheel on the door that slides along a track inside the closet. Just pull the bottom of the door out towards you a little then lift up. They'll come right off. 2. Unless you're having only one guest at a time, you might want to invest in a foam mattress. They make vacuum bags for foam mattresses so they can be smooshed, vacuum sealed, and then rolled up to be put away between uses. Would easily fit in the corner of a closet. 😊

    It would be cool to integrate a sofa bed or a daybed into this with a trundle because air mattresses aren't practical and they're uncomfortable to sleep on.

    • @hannahm7373
      @hannahm7373 Місяць тому +2

      I agree. In the meantme, it would take up a lot less room and she could still use the room as a work space. But, I also know they are looking to move (or at least, they were) so maybe they don't want to invest in something they will either need to move or get rid of soon.

      The bedside table is awesome. It I’m impressed with the starch/fabric. I’ve been looking for something for the upper part of a small wall. I think I will look into fabric! Thanks for your videos and your energy. I look forward to them every week!

    Oh gosh Tina, this is looking so great. I like that you painted that other side of that wall that same color as that other side and the doors are so pretty with that color the original color was not my favorite looking. Oh that bed makes that room so perfect for any guests that you have and I like the mattress that you blew up and then all of the covers and pillows on top it is really looking so cozy, and the new arrangement in there is so terrific looking. Thanks so much for this really fun video to watch. Have a wonderful rest of your day sending love and hugs, bye!! 💜💜💜

    You can also soak the fabric in the starch then just use a wallpaper tool or squeegee to get the wrinkles out and make it smooth. It all turned out great!

      Have you tried this technique on textured walls? My home was built in the very early 60's and while I love the textured walls (similar to, if not, sand added to paint, so it's a "nubby" effect), I can't decide to either paint the entire bedroom - including trim and ceiling - an eggplant color, or wallpaper. Now! I wonder if this starch technique would be less expensive and I could still have the texture.

    WITH OVERHEAD LIGHTING,
    GET BATTERY OPERATED LIGHT BULBS, HANG A HANGING LAMP SHADE AS YOU WOULD ON AN ELECTRICAL WIRE (THE LIGHTBULB WIRE-SORRY I DONT KNOW NAME) AND THE BEST PART IS THAT, YOULL HAVE NO WIRE HANGING DOWN SO ITLL BE MORE AESTHETICALLY PLEASING TO THE EYE (YOULL ONLY HAVE THE STRING AND THE LAMPSHADE HANGING DOWN!! ♥️) THESE LIGHT BULBS COME WITH REMOTES! YOU CAN PICK THE TYPE OF LIGHT AND LIGHT AESTHETIC YOU LIKE (DIM/BRIGHT/YELLOW/DAYLIGHT/etc…) I THINK ITLL BE BETTER THAN LAMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE! ♥️

    That turned out so warm and inviting! The white wall with the grey doors really made it look quite institutional, didn’t it?
    I have also used the liquid starch with unpasted wallpaper before. It holds perfectly and removes with ease! I used it to cover some dated accent tiles on a backsplash in a former home. It was so easy if you want to file that idea away in case you ever run into a situation that calls for it. ;-)
