My great-great uncle is one of the men she killed. I grew up with the story that he was killed by a lady with a pig farm who did it to a bunch of immigrants. After watching Bailey's story I contacted my mom to see if it was the same story. 2 weeks later my aunt dug up her family records - it is. Freaking crazy story!

Farms in Norway were generally much smaller than here, where she could have a big farm.
She didn’t have her own farm in norway.. she came from a very poor family and had a very rough childhood.. before going to America she was working as a maid on a farm and that’s very different than owning a farm.
That was also a time of mass immigration to the US from Scandinavia

This is so crazy Oly Budsberg was our great great grampa and we have a family tree history book with all of his information in it. And there is actually a photo of his detached head in it. I always thought it was a silly made up story until grampa Wally gave me and my family the book of our family tree, he'd say my great grampa was turned into sausage by lady belle and I always thought no way!! But turned out to be 100%true!

True Crime Stories on Investigation Discovery, did an episode on belle gunness, they found her teeth and theorized that she used plyers to pull out all of her teeth. the body found wasnt belles, so she basically faked her own death.
Knowing her I can believe that. They did say the female body found was way too small for her.
This woman was so wily, I just couldn't with that ending. It was so wild.
The way you tell these stories creates a whole world in my head.
The fact that she described her stretched ears as cat buttholes without hesitation is why I love this channel 😂😂
This took place in my hometown and I have a friend whose family home is now where Belle’s farm used to be...anywho long story short over the years they have found bones in their yard and have turned them into the police dept. Strangely the police have never let them know one way or the other if they are human bones....def suspish! Our local museum has a whole exhibit for her and her victims with a lot of “insider” info and artifacts.

Oh, I had noticed too but wondered if I was saying it wrong, even being from Indiana I always thought Laporte was just "Laport" so guess that was cleared up. Lol.
That Person I think what throws people off is that LaPorte means “The Door” in French so therefore people try to pronounce it in a French sounding way lol We’re known as the crossroads of America because of all the railroads we have and access to the steel mills and the produce industry here.

There is a book written about her. The reason there were so many bodies is she took in boarders or if they didn't want to marry her she convinced them to stay and rent out a room. There were rumors she was seen in the north after the house burnt down. Nice job! The book is excellent.

She paid Ray to say he burned her house down with her and her family inside and she paid the dentist to confirm it was her teeth and she had been saving money THE WHOLE TIME FOR ALLLLLLL THOSE YEARS FROM ALL THOSE MEN WHO CAME TO HER FARM and she BOUNCED with a bunch of money and started a new life somewhere, probably cut her hair and died it a diff colour and started wearing different clothes and just went on about her life.
