I saw these guys when I was 15 years old at Canterbury Uni in 1977. It was just like this, The pogoing and the sheer, visceral energy is captured so well in this video. Stunning.
Watching this, I forgot I was watching something from Reelin In The Years and thought I was watching something recorded last week. The Jam were THAT fresh and THAT awesome.
Would love to have seen them in those early years. Incredibly talented musicians, and Paul could craft a song so well. That palpable angry energy of a disillusioned UK youth
The Jam led a brief Mod revival. Paul Weller was angry young Mod back then! Now he’s just a mellow old man. Just like Elvis Costello. I prefer the angry young man!
Always so irritating, these directors, wasting the opportunity to capture a moment of passion in the form of a legend singing his heart out. Instead we have to watch artistic BS shots and miss the glory of Weller, in this case.
We will never see their likes again total legends

Lol I was a student there and saw them too. Fucking brilliant band.
Amazing what a big, complex sound they manage with just three musicians and two singers.
Literally breathtaking. Fortunate I got to see them 😀
Crazy how much pure energy is coming out from my laptop from the 70s! simply WOW
Better as a 3 piece than most bands with 4 or more members. All out attack!
Seeing the jam back then best gig all time 😊
Killer. First time hearing these live songs, like these much more then the album versions. So much raw energy. Very punk, very rock n roll.

I really love Paul's voice on the first two albums.
最高にカッコイイです!UPありがとうございます。
pure punk rock energy with attitude, they were great to see live back then.
This is a great ad for rickenbacker guitars/basses
Que gran banda y nunca muy valorada desde Sudamérica .. tremendos THE JAM !!
En realidad más que poco valorada, tapada y poco conocida
Bloody brilliant boys! A splendid performance from one of the best bands of my youth.
What more can i say bloody brilliant will be never forgotten.
Man they were tight
Wow. That took me back.
Raw energy!
I was born but a year before this, but I really feel like I belong to this time and place.

That guitar sound -Rickenbacker 330 into a VOX AC30... MAGIC.
Yep unbeatable.
Nothing better!!!
What a band, came out of the gates at their peak

Are you a Mod or a Rocker?
I’m a Mocker!
-Ringo. 😂
I'm 56 this year, I still go to punk gigs. Still shave my head and wear my boots. Still love great music. And yeap, I still get angry sometimes. 🤣

Rage Hard Against the Dying of the Light!
Do Not Go Quietly into the Deep, Dark Night!
-Dylan Thomas 👏🏻😎
He has been irrelevant for 40 years. And the Style Council was truly awful.
goodness this is mesmerising! they were soo good before all mod cons
when they still had the matching suits and hadn't cut their punk roots yet
All mod cons was a great album.
This is how I will forever remember Weller .
I saw The Jam at The Rainbow Theatre, before it closed, a-maz-ing
Great energy. I think these guys must have taken in a Dr Feelgood gig or two.
Yeah. My thoughts exactly.
tis is fucking brilliant
Greatest Band of my youth
Punk Rock.. ..huuujuuuuu...saludos desde Perú.

Outstanding. The Jam had more than the usual punk bands. Melody and skill and genuine passion
