January 5th 2024 - Self-Aware Lara Croft Plays Tomb Raider 2 - Level 1 - The Great Wall??? Seriously though I've loved this series and it's getting me even more hype for the remasters, thank you for giving us this great content we never knew we needed 😅
Well, what a great adventure it was! We learned that Pierre is actually a Wizard, that Lara loves cakes, medpacks and slides more than she was ever willing to admit and that all those adventures left some mark on her mind after all (that evil laugh says it all 😂and Winston has to deal with all this... in freezer). We also got plenty of funny lines to go back to if we ever need a laughing boost to feel better. Great job Foxy, your creativity and perseverance really shine through this project! Thank you :D PS. Cacti are as old as dinosaurs (should cacti be worried then that Lara will come after them too? )
It wasn't Pierre, the wizard just happened to look exactly like him. 😂 Pierre left all that ammo for Lara and she was worried about him. Natla must have killed him. Sad.

This episode was so much fun, I loved how Lara shaded Natla throughout the entire level. My favourite line had to be: "The old hag had survived. She surgically attached a pair of wings to herself, but flew too close to the sun. What a classic~ *Next time, she'll graft herself a brain.* " 🤣 This was such a wild ride, and one of the best things to come from UA-cam in ages. I hope you continue the series in the other games, you've done great work!

I had no idea that the finale of TR1 was happening, and it's bittersweet that this fun watch of the Self-Aware Lara Croft series of TR1 has come to an end. considering a couple of new mechanics introduced in TR2, it'd be awesome to see this continue, but I fully understand if some certain things make it difficult for the A.I. to think it through. D: Thanks for bringing me so much joy and laughter with this, FoxMaster!

This was a very satisfying series! We already live in an age where people love watching others play games to the point it can be a career. A game playing itself is the next step, and something I'd like to see become more common. Especially in older games that can be very hard to emulate. Less annoying than having to watch a bad let's player, and less dull than watching a longplay. It was great to see every level of this game that I was never good enough at to beat myself. And the commentary left me laughing every episode. This was amazingly impressive for being the first of it's kind!
oh god tell me about it. Some of the 'lets players' are so annoying they're offensive. At least with Lara, she keeps making unintentional comedy whereas the lets players just run out of things to say and start sounding monotonous.
Thoroughly impressed by the whole series - iLara's personality has evolved a lot since the early days of just sounding like she was looking up everything on wikipedia 😂Looking forward to seeing what you do next, this is a genre I want to see more of!

Laughing at the face of danger, defining the laws of physics while enjoying the adventure, sure has been a wild ride for Lara, taking risks without even thinking cause of her high confidence to reach her goal, this has been epic to watch and do hope to see more on her next adventure as she heads to China

I loved this series. It was very well written, and the conceit of it being a self aware Lara makes for some very funny moments. I also love how the voice generator read the lines, especially one in this one where she said "Boulder" dripping with the most weird inflection. Peppering the gameplay with some weird glitches and ballsy movement also makes me happy - it's not just a voiceover, it's being played in character. I'd love to see more of this, if you can get the "AI" to cooperate. ;)

Hilarious, entertaining, and thought-provoking as always. I'm so happy we're doing TR2, which is my favorite TR as well. :-) I'm still puzzled by something: how does the commentary AI know what the traversal bot is going to do in the future? For example, it says "I'd better head back and find the boathouse" but it says it a few seconds before Lara actually heads back. Does the commentary AI review the entire gameplay before commenting or something? Thanks in advance for explaining!
There is an hidden check of the inventory when it's lost, in the context she found everything except the boathouse, so it rolls back the historical memory to walk back, going back make the textures visible from another side allowing new discoveries sometimes ^^

I guess what I'm confused by is how the commentary is aware that the historical check is about to happen because she announces it a little before it actually happens. Maybe I misunderstood but I thought the commentary AI had no direct access to the bot's activity and just interpreted it from what's on the screen. This is so fascinating because it's similar to the way the human brain works. We have a center in our brain that comments on and explains our own behavior to ourselves and others. It doesn't have direct access to the deep processes that control the behavior, so it goes based on observable evidence. :-)
Like in my previous replies, I wonder if Lara never knew the wizard was Pierre, or if the wizard just LOOKED like him in this version, and he was helping Lara with all that ammo?
Apparently Lara knows who is Pierre since she never asked Larson who he was, it's probably another adventurer or mercenary. She expects him to be in Greece but as iLara can't recognize the guy as Pierre there is a probability it's not him. The only clue is the french accent and Pierre Dupont being a very french name, the fact Natla helped him to locate the Scion in Greece. But this Lara doesn't take these clues into account, based on the context there is a probability the real Pierre is dropping ammo everywhere to help Lara. 🤣 But in that case the real Pierre is also a wizard to drop things in places so dangerous 😲 The idea of the wizard comes from the fact he teleports, seems to be imortal, and turns himself into a lion 🤯
I loved this so much. My favourite game of all time with added crazy AI voiced Lara. Please say the ending was a teaser for TR 2! Though it'll be weird hearing Lara's crazy commentary with TR2 Lara's voice! Thanks!

Very entertaining series. It's good you kept up the facade of true ai to make it feel a bit more realistic. But it's a good idea nonetheless to have the ai voice narrate the activities.

Wonderous series FoxMaster; the ending was SUPERB. As the Lara-Atlantean Clone surfacing like a Terminator watching intently as Lara sailed off into the sunset I swear I could hear it go, "Cake.... must aquire." and then Lara arriving home wanting cake herself from Winston. 😄😆 Jolly good show!

I loved this series. It was very well written, and the conceit of it being a self aware Lara makes for some very funny moments. I also love how the voice generator read the lines, especially one in this one where she said "Boulder" dripping with the most weird inflection. Peppering the gameplay with some weird glitches and ballsy movement also makes me happy - it's not just a voiceover, it's being played in character. I'd love to see more of this, if you can get the "AI" to cooperate. ;)

I'm still puzzled by something: how does the commentary AI know what the traversal bot is going to do in the future? For example, it says "I'd better head back and find the boathouse" but it says it a few seconds before Lara actually heads back. Does the commentary AI review the entire gameplay before commenting or something? Thanks in advance for explaining!
There is an hidden check of the inventory when it's lost, in the context she found everything except the boathouse, so it rolls back the historical memory to walk back, going back make the textures visible from another side allowing new discoveries sometimes ^^

I guess what I'm confused by is how the commentary is aware that the historical check is about to happen because she announces it a little before it actually happens. Maybe I misunderstood but I thought the commentary AI had no direct access to the bot's activity and just interpreted it from what's on the screen.
This is so fascinating because it's similar to the way the human brain works. We have a center in our brain that comments on and explains our own behavior to ourselves and others. It doesn't have direct access to the deep processes that control the behavior, so it goes based on observable evidence. :-)

Like in my previous replies, I wonder if Lara never knew the wizard was Pierre, or if the wizard just LOOKED like him in this version, and he was helping Lara with all that ammo?
Apparently Lara knows who is Pierre since she never asked Larson who he was, it's probably another adventurer or mercenary. She expects him to be in Greece but as iLara can't recognize the guy as Pierre there is a probability it's not him. The only clue is the french accent and Pierre Dupont being a very french name, the fact Natla helped him to locate the Scion in Greece. But this Lara doesn't take these clues into account, based on the context there is a probability the real Pierre is dropping ammo everywhere to help Lara. 🤣 But in that case the real Pierre is also a wizard to drop things in places so dangerous 😲 The idea of the wizard comes from the fact he teleports, seems to be imortal, and turns himself into a lion 🤯

It's good you kept up the facade of true ai to make it feel a bit more realistic. But it's a good idea nonetheless to have the ai voice narrate the activities.
