Italian Barber has a set of four sticks (different scents) on sale; used the first one (Black Label) this morning and it's pretty good. Other than Arko (which I really like), they are the only sticks I've used so far.
Nice idea this. I've sometimes put a small amount of shave cream (like Palmolive sensitive) in with my Mitchells Wool Fat lather. That takes away any problems with regards building a good lather, and the result is amazing. Lathering properties of a shave cream combined with MWF slickness👍
Kevy👍👍 I did this with Arko shave sticks, used a little finer sized grate and filled a Captain's Choice soap bowl. Works like a charm and I don't have all those little sticks of Arko rolling around. I'll bet your efforts turn out great with a nice lathering soap, waiting now for the second part of the experiment...the use. Cheers.
I have done something similar with eucris hard pack (unlatherable soap), and haslinger sheep, because it is almost scent less. Now I have a hard pack of eucris that creates great lather!

Hi Kevy. Some months back I married a puck of Williams mug soap with a squirt of Kiss My Face shave cream. Neither one alone is anything to brag about. But putting them together made a really pretty good croap. Use it regularly now. Thanks for the video. Cheers.👍

Good afternoon Kevy! Yes, whipping up some TaFat for your tea. What a great idea. The bigger question is, who does it lather? Inquiring minds want to know.
Kevy and the shaving community, hope everyone is well. Today was my first time trying a safety razor, I used the pearl closed comb (costed around 6 pounds) with the Bic blade. My first pass barely cut any whiskers, I do have a thick growth and shave daily. 3rd pass essentially cut the hair, this led to an insane amount of neck burn, despite only 1 or 2 nicks. Can anyone provide any advice? Thanks in advance, Rithik
Have you thought about melting it down, similar process to chocolate and then pouring it into the container like a hot wax and then letting it set naturally
I love this idea, but the fragrance of Tabac is a non-starter for me. I like the base, but can't get passed the smell😝 It's horrible... I don't smell anything redeeming in it. What am I missing? Was mine spoiled, or something? -
@@ThePad549 - Yeah, I know. I've heard this before. I think they even make a cologne of it, so I can only conclude that my stick was bad. To me, it just smells like.... ass... I don't know. I believe Fine Accoutrements uses the same base with better frag's. I'll stick to those. -
Master what? Lol. I do this quite often with cheap soaps that don’t work very well, but have one good quality. So I’ll mix a slick but poorly lathering soap with a something the opposite. When I was just starting our traditional wet shaving I made my own soap. I did it with a few Stirling samples some ppl gave me and I mainly did it with soaps that had only one main scent. If I can remember correctly it was Little bit Stirling Spice 1 oz RR Mudder Focker 1/2 oz Stirling BayRum 1 oz Stirling Pharaohs DreamSickle 1/2 oz Gentleman’s Nodd (Ernest) not sure 1 oz Stirling Sandlewood It smelled SOo0oO good man I’m tellin’ you

I would have chosen a more contemporary method, just introduce each soap to the microwave, then just mix both you will get a fairer result, when heating the material you get a more homogeneous soap, it is only my personal opinion, even so, let's wait for the result in the next video using Kevy's Labs shaving soap made in scotland .
Some soap makers say never to use a microwave since that changes the soap chemistry. Also, would the essential oils and scent stuff evaporate from the soap?
It's not a joke, Ozzy. I tried it with a mix of Arko & another (no-name) lanolin soap. Just a few seconds in the microwave to soften it up worked ok. Actually letting it get hot though, is definitely a no-no. Ciao.

Heat is bad for tallow soaps. I have to be careful here in our scorching Arizona Summers.

It's not for everyone. I thought it woukd overpower the MWF, but its a nice balanced scent. Kevy 🙂

Try popping the mix into the microwave for about 30 seconds or so Kevy. Soften it up a bit.
If this is a joke I'll look stupid but Mitchell's contain lanolin and tabac tallow. Both ingredients are not cool with microwave.

Usually its not adviceble to microwave a tallow soap, because tallow, or anyother animal based product, is easily burned.

Tabac is really really really not a tobacco scented soap. It us a flowery/powdery/soapy scent.
It's scent is from green tobacco plant/flowers.
