The reason the disciples said it was "better no to marry" was because they understood that Jesus abolished divorce PERIOD. Not because He limited to adultery. Jews didn't divorce for adultery. They killed adulterers.
Exactly! Jesus outlawed Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage in Deuteronomy 24:1-4 and brought us back to the one-flesh covenant of marriage in Genesis 2:23-24.
Allen, this is the best scriptural explanation I have ever heard! I truly appreciate cutting through the chase! I am divorced. I will never remarry because of my vow I made to my husband. Thank You so much for your clear Bible teaching! Praying for you and the work of the Lord.
The divorce and remarriage for adultery doctrine is based solely on the supposed guilt of the wife in Matthew 5:32, and Matthew 19:9. However, the wife in Matthew 5:31-32 is clearly not guilty of fornication because the Jews that Jesus was speaking to were still living under the law, and if fornication was discovered, there was a moral obligation to report the offender according to Deuteronomy 22:13-24. The wife, who would have been found guilty of fornication, was subsequently stoned to death, according to the law, which had still governed the Jews up until Christ's death on the cross. The same for a woman caught in adultery, according to Leviticus 20:10. How could a wife, guilty of fornication, or adultery, under the law of Moses, be given a writing of divorcement and be caused to commit adultery with whosoever marries her, that is divorced? Jesus is clear, in these examples, that the wife is not guilty of fornication, but is still caused to commit adultery if she marries another man now that she is divorced. This is the only way that Matthew 5:31-32, and Matthew 19:9 keep harmony with Romans 7:2-3, and 1 Corinthians 7:39. Unlike the synoptic gospels of Mark and Luke, which were written to evangelize the Gentiles, Matthew was written to the Jews, and has of 24 characteristics that identify it as intended for the house of Israel. The ancient Jews called the betrothed (engaged) "husband" and "wife" according to Deuteronomy 22:23-24, Matthew 1:18-25, and Luke 2:5-7. Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage) was never for fornication or adultery. Allowing those guilty of fornication and adultery to remain living and become a prospect for remarriage was against the law of Moses in Deuteronomy 22:13-24 and Leviticus 20:10, which commanded that those who were found guilty of fornication and adultery be put away from Israel, and stoned to death. The law of Moses was not given to the world, only to the Jews. From the exodus, to Christ's death on the cross, the law of Moses governed the Jewish people. But when Jesus died on the cross, he caused the Jews to be dead to the law of Moses so they could be joined to Christ under a New Covenant. This is what Jesus's fulfillment of the law of Moses, including Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage), means. Paul gave several warnings to Christian believers against keeping the law of Moses over following Christ and his commands under the New Covenant with Christ. Keeping the whole law is no longer possible for those in Israel and that is why Christ prophesied that the temple would be destroyed. These scriptures make it clear that if you choose the law over Christ, that you must keep the whole law: Romans 7:4, Galatians 3:1-9, Galatians 3:10-29, Galatians 4:1-7, Galatians 4:21-31, and Galatians 5:1-15. Being unequally yoked to unbelievers is not a cause for divorce, once two become one-flesh in a covenant of marriage, according to 1 Corinthians 7:12-14. Many one-flesh covenant marriages between unbelievers are recognized by God in the scriptures, most notably the marriage covenants between Herodias and King Herod's brother Philip, Potiphar and his wife, Ahab and Jezebel, and Ruth to her deceased husband Mahlon by Boaz when he took her to be his wife. Some are teaching that 1 Corinthians 7:15 implies that those who are abandoned by the unbeliever, are "no longer bound" in a one-flesh covenant of marriage. The reason this is in conflict is due to the way they word it, which gives it an entirely different meaning, and context. 1 Corinthians 7:15, says, "15But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace." As you can see, the actual scripture says "not under bondage," which means that the husband or wife is not enslaved to sin with the unbelieving spouse, and is free to worship Christ in peace. Subsequent translations have changed the words to imply that they nullify the marriage covenant, when this is not at all the case. The issue that this creates is with 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, which says, "10And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife." As you can see, those who claim 1 Corinthians 7:15 has the Apostle Paul giving permission to remarry do not understand that the abandoned husband in 1 Corinthians 7:11 is expected to also remain unmarried, in order to be reconciled with his wife. The theory that 1 Corinthians 7:15 nullifies two as being one-flesh in marriage puts the Apostle Paul directly at odds with Christ, by implying that he has issued an opposing command. Some also teach that 1 Corinthians 7:27-28 is referring to both divorced men and virgin women, and not exclusively to men and women (virgins) who have never been married. This has been falsely taught for some time in churches as referring to anyone who is not currently in a marriage, which, for them, also includes those who are divorced. This is a very false assumption, and puts these verses in a different context, that is at odds with both the teachings of Christ and the apostle Paul. We see Paul refer to virgins, which signifies the unmarried who have never before been wed, which is the proper context here. We see Paul saying clearly that it is good for virgins, which is also speaking to never before wed men here, "that it is good for a man so to be." He goes on to say, "Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife." Who is he referring to here? Men who, like himself, have never married. The word "bound", in these verses, is a clear reference to betrothal (engagement) and not to a one-flesh covenant of marriage. The ancient Jews were considered bound as husband and wife during the betrothal (espousal/engagement) before becoming one-flesh in a covenant of marriage, through consummation. This is affirmed by the context of the term "bound" seen in Numbers 30:14-16. The Jewish couples in ancient Israel, who were betrothed (engaged) were also bound together until death, either by execution for fornication, or by other causes. Then Paul says, "But and if thou marry, thou has not sinned", which is who? The men who had never married in the congregation at Corinth. So he begins with verses 25-26 speaking exclusively to men that have never married. Paul then says, "and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned", which is speaking directly in regard to virgin women who have never been married, within the congregation, not divorced women. Notice that verse 34 says, "There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband." Paul speaks plainly when he says "there is a difference between a wife and a virgin." Paul goes on to say, "But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry." This is speaking of a virgin who has become of age to bear children when it says, "let them marry." This is a clear command, to a single man, who has taken a virgin to be his wife. Paul then says, "Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well." This is referring again to the single man who decides it is better not to marry, but to stay betrothed (engaged), under the present distress, by saying that he "hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin." Paul then says, "So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better", which again means single men, in the congregation, who have betrothed a wife, do well if they marry, and those who choose not to marry their virgin brides do better, under the current climate. For more proper context of the word "bound", let's look further down in this chapter to verse 39, which says, "39The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 7:39). For so long, these scriptures, between verses 25-38, have been twisted and used to enable divorce and remarriage, by wayward churches and teachers, and have caused many to stumble and to be trapped in unscriptural unions. The use of the woman at the well, in regard to marriage, falsely implies that Christ was endorsing remarriage after a divorce. This teaching is in defiance of Matthew 22:23-28, which shows a woman who had been widowed seven times, and entered into each subsequent marriage without any scriptural conflicts with God's law of marriage (one-flesh covenant) seen in Genesis 2:23-24. Mark 10:1-12 and Matthew 19:1-12 both record Christ's teaching that day beyond the Jordan. There is no mention of the words "fornication", "writing of divorcement", or "divorced" in Mark's Gospel, because Mark was not written to the Jews (as Matthew's Gospel was), but to evangelize the Romans and Greeks, who had no knowledge of the law of Moses in Deuteronomy 22 or Deuteronomy 24. All of these facts draw a clear understanding that remarriage after a divorce, under the New Covenant with Christ, is a scripturally false and baseless teaching. Please use wisdom when living in any situation against what the scriptures command.
If you are to divorce for fornication (as in the law) you would have to do it in the beginning of the marriage (Matt 1:18-20). Today under the New Testament, you can ONLY remarry after the other spouse dies. You cannot divorce remarry because the other spouse commits adultery. If you notice he says for fornication, that was under the law ONLY. Luk 16-18 makes it plain and simple. Once you marry, its for life. If you do divorce, you MUST remain unmarried or reconcile with your spouse. 1 Cor 7:11.

Powerful preaching on a subject few will proclaim, for years I was in and out of marriages, I told myself I'm alright, I asked forgiveness of all my sins, God forgives, BUT, I heard a lesson direct from God's Word, I finally came to the conclusion that I wanted to go to Heaven first, all else had to fall in line with God's Word. If you heard all of this lesson and want to go by what the Word of God says, obey the scriptures, don't jeopardize your Eternal salvation! God will make a way, if you do what God says.
John Nelson this guys teaching is off. Christ was not to take one jot or tittle from the law till all be fulfilled. He was correcting the Pharisees. ( Matthew 5:17-20).
Luke 16.18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. Matthew 5:32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings adultery upon her. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. 1 Cor 7.10 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. Seems very plain to me.

If you want to bind Matt 19:9 TODAY, you have to BIND it on ALL humans everywhere, because Jesus said - WHOSOEVER. Its not just a kingdom law, no no no its UNIVERSAL. Dates back to Gen 2;24.
Thank you Brother Allen. That was a very good clarification of this almost constant situation. It seems to have become an issue more and more in this age. God has blessed you with your ability to deal with it openly and scripturally.
If a man AS MUCH AS LOOKS at a women with lust he’s already committed adultery in his heart God NEVER said adultery is grounds for divorce Read the scriptures synoptically and you’ll see it’s true
Another pastor that combines adultery with fornication. When it is separated right there in scripture from our Lord Jesus. Reading from the only gospel that was written in Hebrew for the Jewish people. Fornication is for unmarried, adultery is for the married. And to use duet.24 for remarriage is wrong. Did Moses make a command ( no) he suffered because of the rebellion against our Father to protect the women. How many people did our Father kill before Moses left to go to heaven. People don't see this picture. It's so sad when we have to make our scripture say something so we can have our own way. Where is 1 Corinthians 7.

@@philipbuckley759 I can. Except for fornication. Jews could "divorce" to break betrothal prior to the wedding. Scripture gives us the perfect example of this when it speaks of Joseph considering what to do with Mary.
PhilaRevolutionaryWarrior PA except fornication is an English word. Porneia refers to a variety of sexual acts, not just adultery. For instance it includes incest, so if he or she found out they are “near kin” as the king James says, they could divorce. Pornea also refers to harlotry, homosexuality, incest, beastiality, and adultery. So yes except for those reasons.
Eric Battles he hates divorce, but not adultery, incest, pedophilia, beastiality? Really? I’m pretty sure God hates all those things as well as, if not more than divorce.
You aren't under bondage. You are not stuck with the unbeliever for a lifetime; you don't have to beg them to stay for your salvation. There is nothing in that verse that suggests you may now remarry. Singleness isn't prison, and Paul made that plain in the chapter.
escalus84 i DONT know weather your a man or Women But in All Truth the First Person we Have sex With is our spouse because the Two flesh becomes one,So the Majority Of us all are Committing Adultery,It does not matter if we found Christ after ,The first person Whom ever we lay with is our spouse ,So the first person a believer slept with would have to go back and find their first Or remain single,And be content and happy,We cannot justify this it’s biblical
A favorite "cherry picked" loophole for the blind. The surrounding verses "Clearly" show you can't divorce and remarry. Else you make Paul a double minded man. Your not under bondage to an unbeliever or an abusive person but your still bound to them. Bound and Bondage are 2 different words with 2 different meanings.
Awakened Won So Who Ever Your First Sexual Relationship is With,You become one with That Person And The Two become one Flesh it does not matter if a person is a Believer or not ,Because The man goes into the Women .So Anything After That Is Committing Adultery .So A Believer Will Half To Go Back To Their First Sexual Partner and Marry Them,If Not be Single And Married To the Lord If Not a Person is Living In Adultery. If not then We Make GoD Double Minded
false teaching here. Under the new covenant, there is no scriptural allowance for divorce, only biblical "out" or separation, or putting away. You're married unto the physical death, because marriage is a covenant, physical joining of flesh. Jesus died to free us from every sinful situation. If your spouse cheats on you, in God's eyes, you can separate from them, but you're still in covenant marriage with them. Just because we deceive ourselves by justifying our selfish desires doesn't mean God sees things our way. His ways are not our ways. We need the truth of Jesus and no compromise.
If you are a "Christian"[so called]committing adultery---that is you are married to someone who has a living former spouse---here is a good church for you to go to keep you on the broad wide path.
in order to keep the exception clause from contradicting the other two passages, on divorce, etc....then the Jewish system of engagement......ala Joseph and Mary, indicating that once the covenant is in effect....Matthew becomes a non issue...or void....
2:00 you will not perform a wedding to anyone who does not do pre-marital counseling, but do you sign them up to the wicked & unbiblical state marriage license???
Ok, pretty good teaching except THERE IS NO REMARRIAGE after divorce OR ELSE the Matthew clause would directly VIOLATE the marriage for life scriptures. Marriage is for life. Divorce happens but REMARRIAGE is adultery for both parties. God gives grace to remain single or reconcile
Wrong- Jesus knew that many do not have the gift of singleness and celibacy. Reconciliation is frequently not possible as first spouse committed adultery and married affair partner. The innocent party is free to remarry a fellow believer who is either single or biblically divorced also.
@@Seafarer62 read the scripture again brother..and try to see where in the bible that allows a divorced person to find another spouse..and why is it Jesus Christ taught that who shall marry someone who is divorced will be called an ADULTERER/ADULTERESS..
I used to be a minister in the CoC for many years and know that the CoC varies from church to church in its teaching on this subject. Allen begins by saying that "God hates divorce." This is not what the Hebrew text says. We see more and more translations correcting this error. In the Hebrew, it's the man who is doing the divorcing, that hates. In fact, God Himself divorced Israel on more than one occasion. Also, allowed Ezra to instruct certain Jewish men to divorce their wives and 114 men did so and most if not all married again without any condemnation from the Lord. He also says that he won't perform a second marriage even if he believes it's a "scriptural one." This shows a lack of compassion, forgiveness, restoration and healing. This says that some in the body of believers are second-class citizens due to their type of forgiven sin. There is very little love displayed in this type of response. In fact, I don't think the church should be in the marrying business anyway. We have no example of this happening in the early church. In Mark 10:10-12 the preacher fails to understand the depth of meaning behind the words. Notice what Jesus is condemning. He is condemning the act of divorcing, in order to marry someone else. He says, with that as your motive, it is still an act of adultery. Also notice what else He says. It's committing adultery "against your spouse." In other words, you're breaking wedlock or a covenant by choosing to divorce in order to marry another. The common failing that Allen is making is one that a lot of preachers make. They look at the Scriptures as merely a series of legalistic rules and legislative documents rather than seeing Jesus get to the heart of the matter. Luke 16:18 is very similar to Mark 10. Again, someone who puts away his wife in order to marry another has broken wedlock. The person they marry is also an accomplice in that action. So there is nothing new here. Many Jewish leaders knew that affairs were considered sin by all, but if they just divorced in order to marry whom they had desired to be with, they would be considered free from sin. However, Jesus said that the act of putting away a wife in order to marry another is still an act of adultery against one's spouse. Allen makes the error in thinking that in the Sermon of the Mount that when Jesus says, "You have heard it said, but I say unto you..." is the difference between the Law of Moses and the Law of Christ. Is Jesus giving a new Law or rather explaining the intent behind the Law of Moses. I believe that Jesus was getting to the heart of the matter. In fact earlier in chapter 5 of Matthew, Jesus said He had no intention of changing the Law while on the earth. In fact, Jesus fulfills the Law by explaining the heart behind the Law. When Allen says that, "Jesus preached the new law, but He wasn't binding the new law," is totally off base. Everything Jesus said was binding. He wasn't suggesting to observe His teachings someday in the future. He wanted believers to follow His teachings now! This is just some smoking mirrors, for Allen to justify his interpretation. Jesus has served notice that He is correcting Pharisaical misinterpretations of the Law. Allen says that Jesus was preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom in Matthew 5, but is that true? According to Mark 1:14-15, the Gospel of the Kingdom that Jesus was preaching was: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand, repent, and believe in the Gospel..." That is to change one's mind and believe in the Messiah as John shared in John 4. It wasn't about all the various aspects of how we understand the intent of the Law of Moses. Notice that Allen fails to understand and explain the full intent of Mathew 5:32-33. Jesus isn't changing the Law, but again explaining the correct way to understand the Law. In fact, He places the sin on the man who is doing the divorcing when He says, "He causes her..." In other words, neither the woman so divorced or the man she may later marry are guilty of this sin, but the husband who did the divorcing. The Great Greek theologian Lenski, states, "Since our English fails us here, we must express the two passive forms in the Greek as best we can to bring out the passive sense of the Greek forms. We attempt this by translating the infinitive, "he brings about that she is stigmatized as adulterous and whomever she marries is stigmatized as adulterous." In other words, to the general public, it may look like it is she who caused the divorce and not the cad who put her into this mess. Matthew 19 merely says that God's original intent was one man, one woman for life. Regarding Romans 7:2-3. I never used this in regard to the marriage, remarriage debate because it doesn't fit. Notice the context. First, Paul is only addressing one aspect of the Law. In fact, in the Law of Moses, the priest was not allowed to marry a "widow," or a "divorced woman," but the non priest was allowed to and this was not considered adultery by the Lord. So Paul is just referring to one aspect of the Law while considering the "newness of the Spirit." In fact notice that Paul only mentions the woman being with another man as wrong and doesn't mention if the roles were reversed. This is because under the Law, only the man had the right of divorce. Paul was not teaching on marriage or divorce here. Also notice that in verse two, Paul uses the Greek word for "married," but in verse three, he doesn't. Instead, he used the Greek word for "joined." The NASB gets this difference correct. So a second marriage may not even be under consideration here but an affair. Anyway, this is never a passage that I use in this debate. In 1 Corinthians 7:39, we see the ideal of marriage and what God intended, yet in the same chapter, Paul says that "if you have been released from a wife, don't marry, but if you do marry, you have not sinned." In conclusion, Allen gives no room for rescue, restoration or healing at the end of his message. Hidden in his suggestion, is that if your current marriage is in doubt, you need to consider what to do about it. He is probably meaning to break another vow and break up another family if you're in doubt. But true repentance calls on us to stop breaking vows, stop breaking promises, stop breaking commitments. He acts as if entrance into heaven is solely dependent in getting this right rather than trusting in the Lord Jesus to save us. Is salvation a "free gift" like Jesus and Paul have said or are they in error? One purpose of the Law of Moses was to teach us about sin. In that Law, God never considered marrying a divorced woman as a sin except for when the priest did it. God allowed for divorce for neglect, abuse, etc. As with this church and the others that came out of the reformation movement, they have continued to teach the Catholic view on this topic. It's time to renew out interest in studying the whole counsel of God from the beginning of the Bible to the end. Having said this, it is always been God's ideal that it be one man, one woman, for life. Everything should be done to save a marriage and rescue it from desolation.
there is way too much information here to report on....there is no in order to......it just says whoever puts away or divorces one...the motive is not the issue....the act is...
The divorce that happened in Deuteronomy 24 was because the husband found the woman not to be sexually pure. And he would have discovered this upon consummation of the marriage. I don't know why people read "marital unfaithfulness/adultery" into that passage of scripture. There is nothing in that passage of scripture that indicates that she committed adultery. Plus, Moses permitting for the two to remarry was on the basis of fornication; as Jesus affirms in Matthew 5:32. Jesus used both the words "fornication" and "adultery" in the same sentence as two different forms of sexual immorality.
But the reference in Matthew 19 uses the word "porneia" which is used in the NT to cover all manner of sexual sin. Deuteronomy 24 would include what you say but it's not detailed and would also include anything the husband discovers during marriage, which is why there is a dispute which Jesus addresses about grounds for divorce post-marriage, and reinforces that "porneia" would be an exception allowing for a Christian to divorce. Anyone reading Matthew 19 without these recent commentaries would come to that conclusion and it's been the historic teaching of the church.

No pastor. You are twisting Scripture also. Jesus said I can divorce my husband of 34 years because he’s committing adultery. But where does it say I can remarry another man while he’s still alive???--I need a Scripture. Just one. I haven’t found one yet and no one will give me one.
If your husband commits adultery, how can you divorce him? In which manner I’m asking? No where in the Bible does it say a wife can write a Certificate of Divorce and hand it to her husband and send him away. Doing so would be an act of a wife having authority over the husband. This is not biblical or permitted. The wife would have to still receive the Certificate of Divorce from your husband. He can do this, but he can also deny the request if he wishes, and no one could make him do it. Then you would be stuck in a marriage with him and your only way out is just to leave (abandon) the marriage but still be married to him. But I’m sure you have an unbiblical State marriage license that allows anyone to divorce for any reason at any time in a court. All unbiblical.
@@nachis3 ok I understand what you’re saying. For your question you posted check out Deuteronomy 24:1-4. If a man divorces his wife and she marries another man and he also divorces her, she can not go back to the first husband for she has been defiled. So the first husband is still alive, she was divorced and married a second man. Hope this helps 🤷🏽♂️
Allen. Great message. I think you have read into Matthew 5 what it doesn't actually say, but Matthew 19 has you covered. People too often treat Matthew 5 as an exception clause for divorce. But if you look at the plain message, it is saying that if a wife remarries after their husband wrongly divorces them, then that wife is 1) committing adultery, AND 2) the husband is the one who is guilty of that adultery (and that includes the case where the husband doesn't remarry). So it's clear that even if such a wife is without blame, she is still committing adultery. Now if the husband divorced because the wife first committed adultery, then obviously the blame belongs to the wife alone. Matthew 5 isn't an exception clause for divorce, it is an exception clause for who gets the blame of adultery.
Matthew 5:32 says they both commit adultery whether they are innocent or guilty of any offenses during their marriage. It is the fact that they (the husband and the wife) are now both divorced to a living covenant spouse that makes them commit adultery, not who is guilty or innocent during their marriage. Jesus says they both commit adultery if they marry someone while their one-flesh covenant spouse remains living.
the engagement system of the Jews would make Matthew agree with the other statements, on divorce, and remarriage.....otherwise one has to explain why there is a conflict, between the two accounts...
can this word porneia be limited,in Matthew to the situation of Joseph and Mary which would mean that once one is legally married....this clause does not apply....

Just as important as what Jesus DID say is what He DID NOT say. Go back and read the passages touching on marriage, divorce/putting away, remarriage, repentance and "fornication" (porneia, the wicked sexual practices common among prostitutes). Then study the teaching on repentance and reconciliation.
er....did |I hear this correctly....if you are married to a person, with no Biblical grounds, for divorce...you are not married, Biblically....wow.....
and to ask to obvious is that one who has an unscriptural marriage needs to leave this marriage....probably by a divorce....and if so would they be free to marry their first spouse...
So, God does not forgive people who have remarried? If a man gets married at the age of 18 and his wife divorces him 6 months later, then he meets a woman, falls in love, lives a godly life, takes care of his second wife, loves her, has children, etc, you command him to get a divorce and destroy his family? Adultery is an unforgivable sin and God will send him to hell even if he lives the rest of his life for God, following Christ?
Jeff Oregon hi Jeff I struggled with this situation quite some time I went through two divorces I'm married again now I've been listening till a lot of these preachers on divorce and remarriage and I just want to tell you no God does not like divorces but it's not the unforgivable sin as some of these preachers and other people will try to pound you in the head with I had went to the Lord and poured my heart out to him and I believe that he's forgive me see the way some people are making it out is that if God hold you as an adulterer for breaking a marriage and there's no forgiveness for it then that should have been the unforgivable sin but it's not blaspheming of the Holy Spirit is the sin that is not forgiven I hope this helped you and you can look into it further on your own as well
Adultery is forgiveable. You just don't want to stop doing it AND be forgiven for it. It doesn't work like that. You want to continue in sin and be right with God at the same time. You aren't willing to give up everything to follow Jesus. If a man got filthy rich by defrauded you and your family but stopped and wanted to be forgiven for stealing all of that money, do you think he should get it keep it? Or would his repentance require him to make amends? Wouldn't you expect him to return the money he stole from you and your family? Of course you would.
@@raynestor3653 you continue, in sin, and expect to be forgiven....if you please show one verse that says repentence....changes a sinful condition, into a non sinful condition....after all adultery is...well....adultery...
How can anyone who remains living in sin be forgiven? That's not what the Word of God says. It says you must lose your life to save it. Jesus says for us to deny ourselves, take up our own cross, and follow him. None of that says we are to indulge in sin, or wilfully remain in it. This man preaches humanism, not scripture.

David married Bathsheba out of an adulterous relationship. God punished him and he repented. He stayed married to Bathsheba for the rest of his life and God called him "a man after God's heart". So, who is right? Is adultery a non-forgiveable sin or is David in Hell right now? You are advocating millions of people get divorce because God won't forgive them if they don't. I don't understand. I thought God knew we were weak and human and is able to forgive our sins and remember them no more. Do you really want everyone who has already been married to divorce their second spouse even if they are happy, in love, have a healthy marriage and serve the Lord in all other aspects of their life? Is God going to throw all these people into hell on a technicality because they are weak in the flesh?
do you wish for people to remain, in sin...what would you say, to a same sex marriage....hey...if you are happy, and you have repented...then by all means stay where you are....hmmm....what are you going to say, on judgement day...
Matthew was written to the Jews about premarital sex during the engagement period. Saving for the cause of fornication was the original word used, not adultery. The text was changed during reformation. No divorce and remarriage for any reason for the first 1500 years before reformation. I got that truth with a month of prayer and research. Not sure why these so called preachers strain at this gnat, and swallow a camel. These truly are the days of Noah.
What AJ said is correct. God is not going to give us loopholes. This "exception clause" is not even hinted at in Luke, Mark, Corinthians, Romans......Only death ends the covenant bond...Romans 7:1-3, 1 Cor. 7:39
Marriage is honorable in ALL. Since ALL means ALL, you can marry again. If these preachers have a problem with it ask them why God created a devil in the first place.
Thomas Pane God did not create Lucifer as evil but allowed the potential for sin. While God cannot commit sin, He doesn’t take it away from those who do. When Lucifer chose to rebel, he instantly became the author of sin. Evil is the result of a free-will choice by Lucifer.
We as believers have to understand his question because I’ve asked this question myself I mean if someone gives me a gift why do I have to give anything in return? I mean isn’t that like working for it? And honestly yes it is. But Salvation , Grace are gifts it’s our way to heaven through Jesus before the gift was offered there was no way to heaven now there is through Jesus but just because something is free doesn’t mean you have to accept it and when you have the mentality of my salivation is free which means I’m free to do whatever and still receive the benefits then most likely you haven’t actually truly received the gift just because you say you believe doesn’t mean you actually believe.

One of the best sermon that I have ever heard, powerful.
Allen, this is the best scriptural explanation I have ever heard! I truly appreciate cutting through the chase! I am divorced. I will never remarry because of my vow I made to my husband. Thank You so much for your clear Bible teaching! Praying for you and the work of the Lord.
Divorce after marriage is NOT w what God has allowed for any reason
Mark 10:12 does NOT imply a woman could divorce her husband. The implication exists only in Allen's mind. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agunah
May I ask you a few questions concerning MDR?
If you are to divorce for fornication (as in the law) you would have to do it in the beginning of the marriage (Matt 1:18-20). Today under the New Testament, you can ONLY remarry after the other spouse dies. You cannot divorce remarry because the other spouse commits adultery. If you notice he says for fornication, that was under the law ONLY. Luk 16-18 makes it plain and simple. Once you marry, its for life. If you do divorce, you MUST remain unmarried or reconcile with your spouse. 1 Cor 7:11.
there is no exception...as Matthew 5 and 19 seem to say...
Not! If you divorce for adultery, you MUST stay single or be reconciled to your spouse- 1 Corinthians 7:10-11

BRIAN ROBERTS They can’t explain it ,But it means what it says your not under that law of marriage no more.
You aren't under bondage. You are not stuck with the unbeliever for a lifetime; you don't have to beg them to stay for your salvation. There is nothing in that verse that suggests you may now remarry. Singleness isn't prison, and Paul made that plain in the chapter.

A favorite "cherry picked" loophole for the blind. The surrounding verses "Clearly" show you can't divorce and remarry. Else you make Paul a double minded man. false teaching here.

In 1 Corinthians 7:39, we see the ideal of marriage and what God intended, yet in the same chapter, Paul says that "if you have been released from a wife, don't marry, but if you do marry, you have not sinned."
In conclusion, Allen gives no room for rescue, restoration or healing at the end of his message.
Actually, she would also have been stoned to death if "only" betrothed when committing fornication. So that's not really an argument here.
@@neilmccall5311That "permission" was only applicable to Jews anyhow. If you are able to receive the truth of the matter beyond the book of Matthew.....

"Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery." Luke 16:18 KJV
"For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. ³So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man." Romans 7:2-3 KJV
"The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 7:39 KJV
It's perfectly clear cut and dry. No room for twisting God's word unto your own destruction. Woe to those that do.
No pastor. You are twisting Scripture also. Jesus said I can divorce my husband of 34 years because he’s committing adultery. But where does it say I can remarry another man while he’s still alive???--I need a Scripture. Just one. I haven’t found one yet and no one will give me one.
You can remarry ONLY if your spouse is dead 💀 1 Corinthians 7:39
@@darnellrhodes6174 Or like Michael Criswell says if he’s dead in his sins. Umm no.
@@SithWithNoName By divorce I meant leave my husband like it says in 1 Cor. 7 but I must remain unmarried or be reconciled to him.

Adultery is forgiveable. You just don't want to stop doing it AND be forgiven for it. It doesn't work like that. You want to continue in sin and be right with God at the same time. You aren't willing to give up everything to follow Jesus.
If a man got filthy rich by defrauded you and your family but stopped and wanted to be forgiven for stealing all of that money, do you think he should get it keep it? Hi brother Allen. How can we harmonize Romans 7:2-3 with the exception in remarriage in Matthew 19:9?
Matthew was written to the Jews about premarital sex during the engagement period. Saving for the cause of fornication was the original word used, not adultery. The text was changed during reformation. No divorce and remarriage for any reason for the first 1500 years before reformation. I got that truth with a month of prayer and research.
