    Thanks Ruger for getting this onto California's unconstitutional Handgun Roster so quickly. 👍

      It’s not exactly “unconstitutional”, it’s up to the State. I agree it’s a pain and I’m glad my state isn’t this way, but a huge part of trying to defend the 2nd Amendment, and the problem with the misinterpretation of it, is that it leaves no room for compromise.
      So, if one party says, “EVERYTHING IS LEGAL!” No matter what, including cannons and pipe bombs for personal use, then the argument is too extreme. So the other side of the argument will be, “Listen to these extremist nuts? They have no line!”
      That, is the problem my friend. Compromise is key to winning this argument.
      In my day, you know what we did? We shut the f*ck up and did what we wanted without drawing attention to ourselves. The government had no reason to step in. Get it? But no, kids these days are WAY too loud and stupid.
      Ruger is going with the flow, and to sell the Max-9 in California, this is the compromise they met. What this compromise does is, ease the minds of the few and not draw undue attention to the rest, IF you can learn to be quiet about it. Once you make too much noise, the pushback will come for you as well. That’s how this country works.
      The 2nd Amendment was untouchable until younger idiots decided to push it to an unacceptable extreme. Guess who gets the attention and threatens our 2nd Amendment? That’s right, the noisy pricks who don’t know when to just be normal.
      The right wing extremists push the hardest, so they’ve blown it for us all. Nice going. We knew you’d ruin a good thing.

    Thanks Ruger for getting all the handguns on the CA handgun roster.
    Would love to see a .45 or 5.7x28 option as well.

  • @Zantar45

    For those that are unaware California has a "handgun roster" which is a list of handguns the state deems "safe" for sale. In order to get a handgun on the roster manufacturers must submit for testing a model to the state with things like a magazine disconnect mechanism, manual safety, and chamber loaded indicator. If it passes testing and is approved it can be sold "new" in any gun shop. Until earlier this year it was almost impossible to get a new semi auto pistol on the roster because of other requirements that have now been removed.
    The Max-9 in the video appears to be the California model which is why its disassembly is weird.

    When installing the aftermarket Galloway trigger there's a silver plate where the trigger mounts.... the Galloway trigger doesn't fit until you remove that silver plate.... Turns out that's the magazine disconnect delete...

    I recently bought a California compliant Max-9 and after 400 rounds I already have an issue with the takedown plate coming loose so I cannot remove the slide pin as well as the slide locking open with rounds still in the magazine and the slide not locking open after the last round is fired.
    This pistol has been out for 3 years now. I would think that Ruger would know about these issues and would have addressed them by now as they can cause serious injury or death in some cases. I plan to take the pistol back to the gun shop where I purchased it and have it sent to Ruger to be repaired but to be honest I am rather disappointed with a pistol I paid $549 for and having it break after only 400 rounds.

      They won't. Unfortunately, the minimum-dimension .45 is not a thing. Closest we've gotten has been the Glock 30S or maybe the XDm Elite 45 compact OSP... how's that for a mouthful. The Glock is slightly larger in all dimensions, but lighter and, I believe, cheaper. I've got the Glock 30SF and love it.

    I know this is not the video for the 327 fed mag but can You look back at the comment I sent you all on the 327 fed Magnum about making it in a 10 shot revolver large frame with one that takes glass and one that does not making a 3 inch and a 5 or 6 inch barrel with that one having a rail underneath it I really believe it would take that dying round back off and give it a new start because let's face it a 357 mag is a little more powerful but with the option of 10 shots it is a good number of shots and would be a good all around gun for hiking and beyond and in states where they are limited on round capacity it would skirt that rule and make them actively prepared so they would have the reliability of a revolver but also have 10 shots to keep them protecting them selves as well and a all around good gun to have just for target practice

Even if they fix it I'd be afraid to carry it anymore.

      Recently added to the California Handgun Roster. Now that microstamping was dropped as a requirement due to the outcome of a recent lawsuit, but the CA DOJ still requires a LCI and magazine disconnect (imo are two useless features).

    Won’t buy another ruger semi until you get rid of the Keltec disassembly pin. Ridiculous that in this day and age we have to deal with that part. See Canik/Glock/SW/etc. Ruger is missing out on a lot of sales.

    I was shooting mine this weekend was loving this weapon but now it keeps jamming and locking to the rear , the piece you break it down is broke it jams the firearm and locks it to the rear after firing two shots like you have a binary trigger glad I wasn't in a life or death situation I'd be dead. Won't be carrying this no more hope they fix it it labor day so gotta wait till tomorrow to see if Ruger will fix it I looked on line it looks like all of them are breaking after about 500 rounds I'm pissed! Wish ida seen them videos before I purchased it! I have Taurus that people shit on and have 1000s of rounds through them and never had a problem like this.

      Could you explain a little more? Do you mean, the "door" or "latch" that you initially snap down (in order to take out the pin behind it) will no longer stay in the up position? I don't quite understand. How can it simply not stay up? Doesn't it snap up (and stay), just like it snaps down?

    • @JimD410
      @JimD410 Рік тому

      @@mikem.2078 yes it's a spring in there it breaks. I have no reason to make it up. I absolutely loved this pistol till this problem occurred, one of the most accurate micro pistols I ever fired but even with this problem fixed I'll never carry it again.

    • @mikem.2078
      @mikem.2078 Рік тому +1

      @@JimD410 Coincidentally just picked mine up today, about 1.5 hours ago. Looking it over. The latch we're talking about, I'm not detecting any spring on it, but I do feel the "break" you're talking about -- whether I pop it down, or back up, there's the "break", and that break functions like a lock-in-place. Again, not feeling any spring, but the break/lock seems sufficient to hold it in place and prevent it from dropping down. Are you saying this break / lock will not function on yours now, and it won't stay up? Pardon the questions as I'm still new to this gun (1.5 hours and counting).
      The issue (problem) I've had is, it's REALLY hard to slide the rack back, and MULTIPLE times the rack will only slide half-way back and it WON'T lock back but will lunge forward when I let go. It appears that the "loaded when up" bar seems to be blocking it and preventing it from snapping and locking all the way back. Still working on it.

    • @JimD410
      @JimD410 Рік тому

      @@mikem.2078 I was told there was a spring in it. It's the piece that snaps down and then snaps up that covers your break pain the pain that you take out to field strip the pistol. If your pistol has this problem like mine, the piece will just wiggle around and not snap down or snap up and the pistol we'll just lock to the rear and you will not be able to slingshot it, and the pistol will constantly jam. I loved this pistol when I first got it It's a great shooter (until this) and very accurate for a micro but even after Ruger fixed it I doubt I'll ever carry it again I'd be afraid to, if this would of happened in a fire fight I wouldn't be texting you right now.
