What architecture of Philippines look? Thailand, Myammar, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Timor all have traditional architecture and roof style. Thailand with "Sala Thai", Malaysia(Brunei, Singapore and Cocos Island) with "Balai adat Melayu", Indonesia with "Joglo Jawa", Balla Lompa and "Rumah Tidung". Timor with "Uma lulik". Vietnam, Mongolia, Korea, Japan and Chinese are "Sinosphere architecture", but traditional non-Chinese influences are "Sumiyoshi-Zukuri Architecture". Bhutan and Tibet are Tibetian architecture. Any Luzon natives architecture style built in Philippines , majority ethnics likevTagalog. Kampapangan, Pangasinan, Ilocano and Visaya "Palaces, Community hall, throne hall, Fort, temple, traditional village with local architecture, church built with traditional architecture(Batak church in Sumatra, Malay Jambi church in Sumatra, Maori architecture in NZ, Javanese architecture church in Java indonesia). did Philippines have similar traditional architecture city or village like in China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia?
    Google image
    Japan - Ouchi-juku village and Shirakawa-go village
Indonesia - Seribu rumah gadang solok selatan and Kampung Naga Sunda
Malaysia - Kampung Morten Melaka and Terrapuri village
Thailand - Old Thai Village on riverside, Nonthaburi, Bangkok and Thai Dam Cultural Village
Cambodia - Cambodian Cultural Village Siem Reap.
Korea, China, Myammar, Vietnam all have it old village or cultural village/living museum. Philippine do not have own architecture and even country names are Spanish, and no civilization
Philippine - ?? (Minority Maranao architecture also exists in Sabah, East coast, Malaysia same Bajau, Iranun and Tausug, no Thai used malay minority architecture as national architecture, because thai as majority and core nation have own architecture did Tagalog have own architecture, culture, art and royal palaces or Government building in local architecture)
    Papua New Guinea - ?
    Australian Aborigines Village?

lmao, no own architecture? LMAO. This bahay-na-bato, or balay-nga-bato is our traditional architecture, this is not Spanish, go to Spain and you will never see this type of architecture. Don't be too sad, just recognize that our architecture is better than yours Malay. We don't need fake "villages" and cultural parks since you can see our traditional houses in villages, towns and cities, people still live in them and more and more are traditional houses are being built everyday but if you really want to see our traditional architecture in full display go check out Vigan and Acuzar park. Our oldest surviving balay-nga-bato is from the 16th century in Cebu, Philippines, that is the Bisaya style balay-nga-bato, your country doesn't have anything like that. Your fake "palace" was built in the end of the 1980's, while our palace was built in the 17th century and is still being used, your "palace" is just for display, too weak and fake. hahaha

The islands most likely had their own but one has to remember 333 years of Spanish colonization influenced the former architecture. Most architecture pre-colonization was out of wood, they were either burned down because of raids, colonization, rebuilt or repurposed/redesigned into bahay na bato style. The only other place that mainly used stone was Batanes, the small northernmost island. The Philippines is unfortunately not the best place for grand architecture due to smaller landmass compared to neighboring countries (we have lots of mountains and flood prone coasts) and the numerous yearly storms. The islands are basically the storm shield for mainland South East Asia, Indonesia and Malaysia. The geography limited the people back then and even now from building too many structures that can be demolished over time due natural wear and tear from typhoons and earthquakes. Other countries don’t have to deal with as many natural risks every year with the exception of Japan (either way Japan is essentially one huge island; the Philippines is 7,000 islands hence countless kingdoms = attracted a varied group of people with their own identities = less unity back then in making collaborative mega structures). We are a diaspora essentially; plenty of our native tribes were from nearby countries who were mostly displaced either due to past wars, to seek better pastures, to escape, ect. They stayed if they wanted to or went to another nearby island if they pissed someone off. With Spain their influence was really what gave Philippine architecture some sort of commonality because Bahay na bato is found anywhere in the country with the exception of Batanes, the Igorot and the Muslim areas. Bahay kubo is the closest remaining precolonial structure still used but I really believe the structure in Muslim areas in Mindanao is the closest to what may have been what precolonial architecture for the rest of the country looked like back then though not completely. I’m only talking in certain aspects like the layout of the houses, the structure, the type of materials used and the possible designs. So despite your perspective, bahay na bato is still uniquely Filipino. It combined the architectural designs of the islands, Central America, Spain and Asia. If you really want to know original authentic Philippine island architecture you would really have to build a Time Machine because after 300 years, the people were influenced/forced to change almost everything about what was. It’s sad be we are still here as life always finds a way.

mmm, but Indonesia also colonized by Dutch, remember Malacca colonized more longer than Philippine, yet , Malacca still preserve it local architecture like traditional mosque for example "Masjid Kg Hulu, Masjid Tanah Melaka, Masjid Laksamana Hang Tuah Melaka, Masjid kg Keling melaka, Masjid Alai Melaka, Masjid Pernu Melaka and thousand more, just like in Indonesia famous ;masjid agung demak' a pyramidal multi-tiered roof, temple and mosque stlye unique to Malaysia, Indonesia, Cocos Island, Brunei, Singapore, Southern Thailand(Songkhla, Pattani, Narathiwat, Yala, Santun/all these ex-malay state annexed by Thailand in 1909. Songkhla malay name is 'Singgora, famous with 'sultan sulaiman fort/songkhla fort and songkhla old city wall build by sultan sulaiman of kesultanan singgora), the malacca have traditional village like "kampung morten' still in loal style, even many of them are demolish, kampung morten almost be demolish, others malay old village called "terrapuri terengganu, with east coast peninsular style architecture). it not an excuse to said Philippine was colonized for near 330+ years with US 45+ years, lets said it just 370 years, Malacca from 1511 to 1957. more longer, Portugese not much different from Spanish they destroyed many heritage site like Sultan tomb complex, grand mosque and palace(palace made from cengal, meranti and belian wood, palace building and roof from wood and stone used to build step, stone foundation and umpak(wooden pillar stone socket and stone wall/fort with bamboo-wood wall inside palace, 2 palace was burn, 1 main palace, the biggest, and 2nd the smaller one, and many of palace complex, noble and sultan imam house, these where Portuguese made church, administrative building and A Farmosa fort)@@bmona7550
