Ironic that the Khmer Rouge held a seat in the United Nations until 1993.
Saloth Sar should have faced justice many years sooner

What they fail to mention are these inconvenient FACTS about what REALLY happened to CAMBODIA. 🇰🇭 👇👇
      👉 Operation Eagle Pull -12/04/1975
'Twelve helicopters, bristling with guns and U.S. Marines breached the morning horizon and began a daring descent toward Cambodia's besieged capital. Residents believed the Americans were rushing in to save them, but at the U.S Embassy, in a bleeding city about to die, the ambassador wept..."
"We'd accepted responsibility for Cambodia & then walked out without fulfilling our promise. That's the worst thing a country can do," he says in an interview in Paris. And I cried because I knew what was going to happen.'
      John Gunther Dean
      Former U.S Ambassador Phnom Penh
'Children and mothers scrambled over fences to watch. They cheered, clapped and waved to the 360 beefy, armed Marines. A Cambodian military policeman saluted Armstrong smartly. Disgusted and ashamed, he dropped his helmet and rifle, leaving them behind.
I tried to avoid looking into faces of the crowd. Always with me will be the children's little hands aflutter and their singsong "OK, Bye-bye, bye-bye."
By 12:15 the last helicopters landed on the deck of the USS Okinawa waiting off the Cambodian coast. Tactically, the 2 1/2-hour operation had been flawless.
In Phnom Penh , Douglas Sapper, an ex-Green Beret who stayed behind to save his company's employee, recalled the reaction of Cambodians who realised what had happened: "It was like telling a kid that Santa Claus was dead.'
The U.S Admin under Nixon & Kissinger knowingly gave rise to the Khmer Rouge.
But to add insult to injury, in the 1980's (after the genocide) then U.S President Ronald Reagan sent in the CIA and military units to covertly support and train the Khmer Rouge. When the heat in Central America got to hot for Reagan, fearing more bad press, he handed Cambodia off to the UK's Margaret Thatcher who did the same and supported the Khmer Rouge after they murdered over 3 million Khmer in peaceful Cambodia. 🇰🇭💙❤️ DON'T THINK I'VE FORGOTTEN! USA 🇺🇲 UK 🇬🇧☠️☠️☠️

Because they are corrupt. It took until 2007 before they captured number 2 of the Red Khmer regime and it was not until 2014 that they jailed him for life. The rulers of Cambodia today are the same people installed by Vietnam in 1979. First they acted as the ''true communists'', then they dropped their Marxist-Leninist facade and became supporters of the monarchy and capitalism by 1993. Dictator Hun-Sen is a man of many colors, who started as a supporter of Pol Pot in 1975, then he betrayed him and joined the Vietnamese side. In 1985, Hun-Sen was made prime minister and he has never let go of that power. The ruling bureaucracy of Cambodia is by all accounts the pro-Vietnamese wing of the former Red Khmer, who broke with Pol Pot in 1978.
