These tests are always carried out on perfect circuits you should to a typical system with problems and go through things resolving them as you go
100%!
Thank you for this video; very informative.
Jordan at Artisan & Cory used the metrel and they both said they just couldn't get on with it & TBF this video tend to prove their point
I don't seem to recall them using this Metrel version. Everyone tends to have a favourite when it comes to test equipment. We swap regularly between lots of different testers and manufacturers and we don't struggle. Some people like menus some prefer big buttons. @@efixxwhy would u test @ 500 ? Is that not just for installation certs
Rick is my new hero 🤣. Absolute legend

How do you test lighting circuit with this? I guess remove all bulbs / LED drivers first?
If so some installations might be really hard or near impossible ( high ceiling flush 240V fittings)...?

What’s the price of this label printer?
The only thing missing is WHY the cpc needs to be connected....
Naughty Garry connect your croc clips properly @ 4:00
I spotted that too, but you beet me to it on the comments!
Why hasn’t he contacted the crocodile clips properly? They looked ok to me
@@Dog-whisperer7494 One should do that with the non hinged part of the cock clip, just is case there is additional resistance in the hinge/spring. also, that resistance could be variable on how open or closed they are. so by connecting the other way round one would eliminate that resistance

@@Dog-whisperer7494 Solid (non moving) sides of the jaws should be touching each other according to Metrel.
Why are the N+PE probes connected? Is it for a cut-down version of a 4-wire Kelvin connection?
Must be something like that. IR is the only test they insist you do with N and PE shorted.
According to the book: "Follow the correct test wiring as indicated in terminal voltage monitor when the particular insulation test is selected. If only two test wires are connected, and L-N, L-PE or N-PE test is selected, then technical specification for INSULATION ALL applies."
The accuracy spec listed for INSULATION ALL is worse than the other INSULATION spec.
There's me thinking the paid promotion was going to be for Metrel. Turns out it was for Tesco!
😂 every little helps
Why does the Earth have to remain in the earth bar ?. I’ve just done insulation resistance on my AM2s exam and I removed the earth from the earth bar.
They should have flagged that as being wrong….
I really love all your clips, but especially wit this amazing Metrel
clips? is that a pun?
@@MarkUKInsects videos,ok?
@@ovidiuroman1979 it has test leads, with clips
I've always disconnected the earth when ir testing, I don't see the issue with either way.
