I love how Joaquin kept his arm behind her . He was comforting her Which I think is very sweet. What a gentleman he is.
Am I the only one who notices that he has his arm around her? I think its definitely a defensive move, him feeling protective of her. Its lovely.
He grew up with sisters and he's a younger brother and an older brother so being protective of someone he loves is a reflex for him, and I think it's beautiful.
He is resting his hands in the chair arms..
And rubbing her back. So sweet and protective. She seemed so nervous but relaxed into it as it went on. So his protectiveness did the trick. 😍
@@weasley2o13 I'm in the middle of 9 siblings, and we're never affectionate in the least, although I would extend similar protectiveness of my nieces and nephews.
I think this is the first presser ever where the director is more nervous than Joaquin
kayah whogivesashit I assume she's drunk or on drugs
Or just as nervous as any normal (somewhat introverted) person would be when asked to represent their own film at a press conference
@@qizeeeeeem You say that to every quiet bloke you come across?
@@qizeeeeeem You've been quiet for 2 years, guess you were on drugs the entire time
I love that she made a point about making a shorter movie.
I'd kill for more directors to make a good movie that doesn't HAVE to be 2.5 hours to be good.
Damn Joaquin's got some awesome hair
i don't expect Joaquin can be this hillarious, what a joker
he turned down the role of banner in The Avengers (2012)
I think Joaquin would play a badass "Joker"
Did you just predicted Joaquin Phoenix being the next Joker?
Well...this is ironic
This particular comment aged well
Lynne seems very nice person. Rare.
his eyes ...
They're sooo weird both of them.
AND I LOVE IT!
Lynne is the sweetest. Joaquin is the just amazing. This film was phenomenal👏❤
Such an utterly brilliant film, every Lynne Ramsey film has been cinematic brilliance.
One of the greatest films ever made.
This combo! No oscar recognition! Lynne Ramsey is a Beast!!!!!! In my top ten of directors for sure.
joaquin is so beautiful it hurts
I Just noticed a Freudian Slip there on 7:05.
"I was a kid that grew up with alot of trauma and HE obviously couldn`t protect himself... "
I went back and listened to it again, thats what he says.
Victoria Zed i heard that too and thought he was go into his own history there for a sec
Oh my God yes! I caught that straight away and I was wondering if he was talking about his own process or about his character, but the same thing happened last week on a joker interview where he said he started to empathize with Arthur when he realized that he was born out of trauma. That's very painful to hear, it's interesting.
@@adamsasso1 yeah that wasn't going to happen but maybe it did in his mind .
I really thought he was talking about himself there, which us weird, because he is never that open about his past.
Sounds like he's slurring his words in the beginning, so it's not clear to me he was talking about himself.
16:33 Joaquin 😍
OMG!!
18:47 What a well done question, those are the kinds of questions that should be asked on these events.
He was amazing in Her
I bet he was :)
in?
Snubbed of that Oscar nomination tbh
That movie does what movies should. They show with visuals you have to put together yourself, rather than telling with endless exposition. One of the best movies I’ve ever seen.
Lynne Ramsay is delightful
0:34 Joaquin: "hi"
Same, Lynne... Same...
I LOVE JOAQUIN 😍💕
He never wants the attention... But with that personality is hard to overlook💗💕
Shes so cute, Lynne is. And such a badass movie. Great stuffs all around
17:45 "I thought we were making a comedy" haha
23:30 "I'd love to do a superhero movie. I loved comic books as a kid." Yes, please!
24:50 Tom Tom London is the cinematographer haha
34:28 "I grew up on genre movies" - Lynne
34:28 "I grew up on genre movies" - Lynne clearly shes been watching too much of Stuckmann
12:55 Joaquin looks at her like a proud dad or teacher or smth so cute 😭💖
Her accent makes me happy
It's so cute
That Huffington Post Lady prepared her question really nicely
The Best director currently working, with the best actor currently working.
She is so lucky to have Joaquin beside her
She is a genuine and lovely person !
The score and music in this film was fantastic. Just phenomenal.
Joaquin is so gorgeous. not even funny how fine he is......
I love his work, but what is it about him that everyone finds so attractive???
@@preciousgorgeousralf137 don't be an asshole
@@dkthgwhat the.. I'm asking sincerely... why is that insulting? I'm not asking because it's a mystery, he's an unconventional dude, with a very unique appeal. It'd be cool to hear from someone who finds him attractive what exactly his appeal is. Cuz obv many ppl are enthralled by him.
@@carla4848 why can't any woman give me a straight answer?
@Charlie Michaels why can't any woman give me a straight answer?
8:11 I love how Joaquin was thinking ...who the fuck are you to tell the director of the film what to do.
Joaquin is fine as hell. Especially here.
its very cool of him to have his arm behind his director as a comfort with so many people there as a crowd of media...reassuring her that its all ok and take your time...she seems like a kind of a nice shy person alittle....plus the film she made was a masterpiece.
Awesome press conference, Lynne is the best
Super film !
Everything play max !
Thanks. !
This press conference is the best!
Joaquin is hot af...
11:40 Seus olhos OMG
Yes
Hipnotizantes, né?
Brilliant film.
Always wondered why this film didn’t get more attention
I walk the line was so tremendous for me because Johnny Cash was born when drs. Didn't know a lot about life threatening injuries and his brother died. His dad threw that in his face his whole life. I related and felt his pain, Phoenix portrayed it beautifully in the film. Not every actor can get it right but he did🤗💥✌🏼🎸🎶❤️
I wish I could watch or read something about this movie without someone saying it's like a new Taxi Driver. It's a calmed down Leon The Professional, if anything.
thegrimyeaper so true
Really good movie , I think sheds light on whats really happening in politics on both sides & thats sick 🙏
Ekaterina is so pretty. Her role here reminds me of Natalie Portman in Leon.
Joaquin is God
I'd die
damn he looks so gooooood
25:05 Tom Tomlondon XDDD
This film gets better on every watch which should be impossible when it seemed so brilliant first time. And being from Glasgow I feel I know Lynne, she's got a familiar Scottish character. Would love to work with her on a movie.
lynne ramsay x saga (the image comic) = GREATNESS
Palme d'Or
This dude looks like the chess player from that one Disney short.
Hahah, brilliant
OMG my name is lilly😎
She seems really sweet
The director is very giggly and nervous.
I was looking for captions on this site. Director has such an accent. I'm trying to catch every word. Now my dad has such a Norwegian accent and I'm proficient on accents but hers is hard to understand. Love her by the way!
Girl in the front row is lovely.
❤❤❤❤❤
I still don't understand why they were both not nominated for oscars
interviewer didn't do his research
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Never ask a actor about their process... Its personal and its a stupid question.
They are sooo high...
I love it.
Why is everyone talking about they are high????
They probably aren’t high at all. They are probably sleep deprived, jet-lagged, overworked and would rather be anywhere else. But they have to do this to promote the movie.
+ « Pretty & Great Interview !!! 100% X3
1:08 someone can hear what he whispers to her?
oof now i wanna know too
She reminds me of Janis Joplin.
he wants to say something 19:14 but he wont bother
BRAD PITT Poor JP and his traumatic life
@@nickywilliams8540 why do you sound so sarcastic...?
Who believes they, were there you or me?
I can understand why Joaquin get so irritating boaring in interviews, this will bore me to death!!!
How infuriating and disrespectful is Henri Behar? The guy does subtitles for films.
He’s hardly a film creator.
Someone should tell him he’s a hired hand.
how weird must it be to have a dozen people a meter in front of you photographing you
I wonder who's idea the plastic bag was
it's in the book
Hey Old Man; Cannes is soon to be nothing. We can make films without you. Oscars the same.
She seems high
It's called anxiety
She is just nervous
Joaquin humour is really cringeworthy at times.. ugh.. but things aside i'm looking forward to watch the movie, although for the description and reviews that i've read it looks so so Taxi Driver esque.
BRAD PITT both are fucking weirdos
+Pharaoh A. and i suppose you know whats normal
Anthony Campos i'm sure i do :)
Mars lol no
Pharaoh Anselmo it's so so different
One part of this interview, specifically related to Lynne Ramsay I really do not like and it bothers me and makes me a little angry. Ramsay is asked about why Joe used a hammer and not a gun. And she says something like "I tried to approach it in a different way....." She knows exactly where the fuck it came from. It came from the book she ADAPTED by Jonathan Ames. And that was an EASY question for her to answer. It was a no brainer, it's not like she got the idea of a hammer from the deep void of space or a day dream--it's from the fucking book she ADAPTED. I don't know maybe it kills her to admit the idea came from a man's mind and not the superpower of Ramsay's ovaries, but it shouldn't have been that damned hard to answer that question.
And she said it was in the novella
She said "it was in the novella" at around 21:11
Dang! Hate women much?
@@melaniejackson-cracchiolo356 You can rationalize the fact that 98% of the concept of the movie came from Ames' novella and that Ramsay had a brain coma remembering that fact in interviews for the film, *ANY* way you like honey.
Totally slow burning crap....very rare that a movie is even more spaced out or fucking weirder than the main actor, saw it for free and want my money back
Is Lynne a heavy drinker? Or on some kind of drugs, weed, anything? She doesn’t act as a sober woman;
She’s just a sweet jolly Scottish lady lol
Or she's just nervous. C'mon chief.
what a fuckin stupid comment...you stupid person
