Welp.. Look like I aint gon be doing this ever.. 2nd thoughts now and I live in Daytona. The slingshot ride looks cool.. But this is Final destination scary. Glad the girls are safe and unharmed.
Last week on Mar 19 they did an inspection and they said the ride was fine. Obviously they must've missed something and whoever inspected it could be in major trouble and be held liable for this. Did anyone notice that in the recent SlingShot videos that it bounced alot and went faster than normal? The girls were around my age too! :( The Florida Department of Agriculture is consulting an investigation with the ride's manufacturer, Funtime, to see what may have caused the cable to snap. All four SlingShot rides in Florida are closed until further notice.
@@Beenisweenisyup. That can happen with roller coasters too. They can be perfectly safe, until one bad imperfection from the staff can cause it to all go to $hit
Good thing they are building a better, world's tallest, and safer one not too far away in Orlando at Icon Park. Can't wait to ride it. It's way more up-to-date and safe.
I work at the mineral store in oldtown and I usually go get checkers and watch people go on the SlingShot and Vomatron. Vomatron is also closed probably because they are by the same manufacturer.
If it happens very few in between and specially a different location you can't blame all the rides for one, we need to ban planes too ... that has way more tragedies than an amusement ride.
@@AdverbsAndNouns There dangerous to begin with. A lot of people have died the past 5 years because of these extreme rides. And kid employees who also secure the riders. I wouldn't go on one for anything.

The theory is that it was a failure on the actually ride operators not checking the cables between rides, and the cables got twisted.

I was there, my friend wanted to get on this ride, after seeing this, it’s a no for me and will always be a no.
