My brother was in the Navy in the mid 60s and he saw Peggy Lee perform at the Naval hospital.. not sure if this was the one but he called home very excited because she took the time to talk with them individually. Apparently she appeared many times at different facilities for our Servicemen and Women.

Wow Peggy could swing. She was so good at singing pop music we forget she was such a great jazz singer. I feel sorry for those men having to be in the hospital but how lucky they were to have her brighten up their world.

Peggy no doubt rocked a lot of houses back in her day. When I think of her, I think of my dad and his love for this kind of music.

Peggy is one of those rare, special, one-of-a-kind people and performers. Her gift is mysterious and difficult to describe. When she show up and opens her mouth, we are enveloped in her magic. She is kissed by God.

I never got how great she was until I was in my 30s. I dismissed her with Dinah Shore, Doris Day, mushy, marshmellowy sorts of singers. I was so wrong. Peggy is great...hypnotic and full of rhythm! Thanks for sharing this. I had not seen it before.

Peggy Lee was an inspiration to me back in the '60's when I was a teen-ager. And not just because of her singing. I'd read an interview with her from the '50's where she was asked who she considered "the sexiest man alive." Without a pause she answered, "Albert Schweitzer." (For those who don't recognize the name, he was a Swiss physician who left the comforts of a prosperous practice to start a clinic for lepers in Africa.) Peggy's answer to that question let me know, even as hormones were surging through my body, that there was more to sex than just sex. I still remember that. Thank you, Miss Peggy Lee.

Imagine being in a Navy hospital and having Peggy Lee come to entertain you!!! I don't recall ever seeing her in this 'full' hairdo. As a child, I was enamored with Peggy, notably, "Fever", "I'm A Woman" and the tunes from "Lady And The Tramp".
