Thank you for the excellent review Preston. Just to let everyone know, this style has been removed from our site for about 7 days as we are putting a line in the summer sale, so if you want to get a pair check back on the 6th or 7th and you will get them at a great price. Cheers guys and girls, stay safe, HS
I'm digging that shade of brown. It would accentuate almost every suit/trouser color. Great shoes all around. I always think unboxing and shine videos are somewhat incomplete without seeing them on and how they fit. Thanks for putting the icing on the cake.
Preston if you were a shoe salesman, you would have a 100% hit ratio. You put soul and character in every shoe you take in your hands. I didn't know about Herring and I am glad you showed them. In my opinion this a beautiful pair. The rounded welt is great feature which I haven't seen before. I also found the lack of fudging to be an interesting feature. These are small details but definitely which differentiates them from other brands. And definitely, the end result after you had a go at them was stunning.
Herring Shoes are a great company. I’ve had excellent customer service support (by Chris) and they despatch their items *fast*! As always, lovely to see you transform shoes out of the box!
I got a pair of Herring Mayfair (Dainite) and Napoleon recently- great quality, both pairs were made in Northamptonshire. And their customer service is one of the best I’ve seen for any retail company.
Thanks for the product review. What I really dig is watching a good cobbler tear into a shoe and show how it's made and what WITH. "Purdy" is nice... but what it's got under the hood is what really matters. Nice looking "hoof-cover".
Great review. Those shoes are beautiful out of the box. I also like you personal touch to them as well. Thank you for doing these reviews. They are informative and I think will help men find good shoes that will fit them and thier style. Thank you again.
Maybe you can start an outfit series as well. I like the olive socks paired with jeans. I'm a big fan of Herring too. Their site is so easy to use and you can filter last sizes.
Preston these are stunning. I agree that the original color is a "coffee" which is very nice...however the impact you made is more than impressive. Well done.
Managed to get 2nd hand Herrings (Henry II, made by Alfred Sargent) on eBay for £40 and they are the best shoes in my collection right now. Very flexible semi-brogues which work with many trousers. Very nice leather quality and craftsmanship too.
Great video as usual and a gorgeous job with the airbrush. Bob Powers also has useful video on using the one. Cheers from Bay Park! (aka South Clairemont as we used to say in the old days)
@@TheElegantOxford When I did a factory shop tour, my last stop was at Cheaney's and that's where I picked up what is probably my favourite pair and ironically also the cheapest at £140 down from £395. I'm blessed, the factory shop is only an hour away. The current owners of Cheaney's are the Church family who sold Church's to Prada but I guess they still had shoes in their blood. Cheaney's factory shop is also the easiest to park at and for anyone in the UK forget shopping in London, head straight to Northampton for the factory shops. Am I pointing out the blindingly obvious?!
this is one of the best reviews I've seen. thanks for taking the time to make this informative and useful video. btw, I do own a couple of Herring shoes and I absolutely love them. possibly the best value for the money!
An amazing job as always, Preston. I was checking out the Herring Shoes website recently. Appreciate your discussion on shoe widths. Looks like I might be an “H” width but maybe a “G” width if I move up a half size. Looks like I’ll have to check out Herring Shoes again.
Nice job. Thanks for replying last week to my questions. Can you tell me what brand air brush you used? I would like to see if it's available in the Uk. Thank you.
Damn, I’ve been working a lot now in the summer, now that I’m out of high school I never wear my AE McAllisters anymore. I’m also quitting and I’ll be working outside from now on, and so I’ll be wearing my boots. I miss my dress shoes, but tomorrow I’ll clean em up and condition them at the very least!
Hello Prerston, i own a bassic herring boots and i love it, it´s hard to fin something with this quality in Mexico; but as curiosity, how does the herring cream does it if compared with saphyr, because it´s also hard to fin something like this
Beautiful shoes! You make it look easy! When I'm polishing a new pair and putting a mirror shine on, a spot often appears around the toe area which looks either like the finish has come off or sometimes as a discoloration! Any suggestions on why and what to do?
In some shoes the heel clip leaves a significant gap between the back of the shoes and the achilles that gives the impression that the foot is in a boat, even with properly fitted shoes. This gap catches the bottom at the back of the pants and prevents the rear crease from falling straight to the top of the heel of the shoe; it always looks unsightly. I never hear this aspect of the fit addressed in shoe reviews. Another request: at some time during the demo, can you also turn the shoe around so that the viewer can also see it from viewers perspective, by that I mean that the toe of the shoe would be at the top of the frame. Thanks, I really enjoy you uploads, and I have learnt a lot from them.
Herring has shoes made in all kinds of companies. Notice that the shoes they make in their on factory and not others are of lower quality than the rest
HI, PRESTON!!! So good to see you!!! That is a beautiful shoe! My Poppa (Dad) wore a size 17 EEEE...I wish I could've gotten him a beautiful pair like those. What size would HE have been!? 😂💗 *edit: SO glad you got an airbrush system!!! Easier, huh? 💗Zelda!!!
Hello Preston, thank you for the review! Based on your review I took a look at Herring's Harding double monk strap in tobacco. Was going to buy a pair of AE's but I like these and are less than the AE's currently on sale! What do you recommend as far as cremes and/or polishes to purchase along with these? Thank you!
Curious to know what you think of the little pots of shoe cream that Herring send out for free? I love Herring and have several pairs of their shoes - I agree the shoe horn is very handy and the cream is a nice touch for customers who don’t know much about shoe care I suppose, but I’ve just thrown away all the Herring cream I’ve accumulated as I don’t think it’s quality stuff. Definitely nothing compared to Saphir pommadier, imo.
Hey Preston! Always being a fan of your channel! May I ask a question? Please give your genuine thoughts on this: recently I am thinking about begin my shoe career as a shoemaker. The shoes will be made in Shanghai using french/english imported calf with fiddleback, tapered heel and with some really high end brand-like lasts. The price I am thinking about is around 170-190 USD. Do you think these type of shoes can be popular here in the states?
Having purchased about 15 pairs of Herring shoes of varying prices I have never received a shoe horn in the box, so I don't think this is a regular thing.
Suprised you had success with those all in one airbrushes, they are usually cheaply made and the handheld compressor isnt the best and they sputter a lot.
Wow this shoe company give you a lot of extras with your shoe purchase. Love the shoes Preston and how you made them look better. How much is the price of the shoes ?
Thank you for the excellent review Preston. I just love seeing the master at work. Great job. I am impressed they sent you the shoe trees included with the pair.

Beautiful shoes but you took them to the next level 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you bro. You’re the reason I’m getting into higher end brands
The Elegant Oxford 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Preston, you do the most amazing mirror shines! I was blown away at the end of this video!
Your skills are getting better and better. Those shoes turned out beautiful. Love the end results. Hope you and your family are doing well. Stay safe.

Herring includes, a cream, shoe horn, individual shoe bags, and wooden shoe horn fir the shoes. Now that is class
The transformation was incredible! You took them from pretty to stunning!
I love this review series. And then what you did to them with the dye job!
I really like this serious, and I think it would be great to have a series that updates on how the shoes you reviewed wear and age over time.
Thanks for the product review. What I really dig is watching a good cobbler tear into a shoe and show how it's made and what WITH. "Purdy" is nice... but what it's got under the hood is what really matters. Nice looking "hoof-cover".
Preston the finished product was magnificent. Went really well with your jeans.
Great review.

Recently found your videos and I really love their calming aura.
Dude!! I’m amazed at what you did to those shoes! I thought they were okay, but what you did to them...wow!
Wow I am really impressed with the shoes right out of the box and your patina took them to $600 shoe range. Outstanding work!!
Thank you bro! These were a pleasant surprise and they grew on me for sure
@@TheElegantOxford They looked better than I expected when new but then your patina...my favorite of yours so far I think. 💪
Beautiful work as well as the shoes. I def agree that it would have been nice to either have single oak or double for the soles.
Fantastic finish Preston x
I’ve had a pair of Herring brogued boots for years. Their service was excellent, and the shoes are very well made.
Wow! Those turned out gorgeous Preston! Amazing job as always!
Maybe you can start an outfit series as well. I like the olive socks paired with jeans. I'm a big fan of Herring too. Their site is so easy to use and you can filter last sizes.
Very nice work ! Added layers made this shoe very sharp
Excellent professional shine on brand new shoes!
Another gorgeous shoe! Love the way you add character and depth with the spray gun.
Preston these are stunning. I agree that the original color is a "coffee" which is very nice...however the impact you made is more than impressive. Well done.
WOW the shoes looked so much nicer after you touced them up. Cheers Preston.

I'm glad you included your thoughts on the airbrush setup. I've been considering one myself.
-Bill
Vast improvement on the original - and a nice English shape to the last and the overall design. Far more interesting than most top US brands.
Much loved the magic you applied on these pair.
Absolutely love your work man, youve made your work an art and its beautiful
I'm a female and you make men's shoes interesting and sexy, there I said it.
Thank you, Linda. I think there’s definitely some sex appeal in looking your best and presenting yourself well. Thanks for stopping by and watching!
Linda I’m glad you said it lol I’ve been wanting to say it myself. 😂
So true! At this point, thanks to Preston, I get to be a little bit sexy.
I forgot this UA-camr for 2 months, now I’m back.
Welcome back!
Great video as usual and a gorgeous job with the airbrush. Bob Powers also has useful video on using the one. Cheers from Bay Park! (aka South Clairemont as we used to say in the old days)
The video quality, pictures, and music are just as impressive as his shines
Have those and absolutely love them! They are actually one of my favourite pair of shoes!
Cheaney are one the english shoemaker that i like the most. Your video really show why. Every penny is worth the money !
Hey, Leo. This is my first experience with Cheaney but I am pleased with what I found. I think they are worth the price tag.
@@TheElegantOxford they have an Imperial range that looks awesome. Never tried it myself but you should have a look on it !

Great video and a beautiful shoe Preston.
Very pleased with my shoes from Herring.
Wow you took those shoes from a 7/10 on the looks scale to a 10/10. Thanks for sharing a brand suitable for those of us with wide feet!
Wow!! You are extremely talented. Great job!
They were obviously very nice and well-made shoes to begin with. But, you took them to another level. Wow!
Brilliant video, as always. Nice new gadget there. More videos like this please.
this is one of the best reviews I've seen. thanks for taking the time to make this informative and useful video. btw, I do own a couple of Herring shoes and I absolutely love them. possibly the best value for the money!
Nice mahogany touches!
Gosh I'm so glad I found your channel. You've taught me so much
Herring shoes are wonderful and for the price great value. I own many of the shoe Trees... they are awesome

I like the look of those shoes
Nice job. Thanks for replying last week to my questions. Can you tell me what brand air brush you used? I would like to see if it's available in the Uk. Thank you.
8:28 nicely shot with that reflection
Wow you made them look beautiful! Would love to get more details on the fit in future videos. Which part of the shoe they are wider in etc
I just purchased some Herring Split Toe! Outstanding review.
Mais uma vez, uma excelente apresentação. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great review SIr. Lovely shoe. Thanks
omg great airbrush job

Can you list link to the dye gun? Thanks!
Thanks for reviewing wide shoes preston
Excellent work as always
Remarkably done. Thank you.
Wow they are beautiful
Well done...it was really nice 👞..
Did you remove the factory finish before applying the dye? Can the Saphir Tenax spray be used in place of the air gun? Thx.
A nice shoe. Reminds my of a cross between the Cornwallis and the Fifth Avenue.
Do shoes often come with shoe trees included in them? Especially nice looking ones like these?

Hey, Gregory.
I don’t think so. There are a lot of tools for different jobs so use whichever works for you
what do you think of herring cream polish? is it on par with saphir?
Beautiful!
Man, Adelaides are the best looking oxfords out there.
I agree. Adelaides are definitely underrated
My favorite as well.

You should look into Cambrillon. They are Spanish, and make great shoes and boots. I wore their balmoral boots with my tux when I got married.
