Early results have been promising. The leak has certainly slowed. It’s not fixed by any means, but I would estimate that it has reduced the rate of loss in roughly half. Thanks for the note!
Respiratory is a must, human lungs and fish lungs are not the same. Plus its not in powder form in water. DO NOT BREATHE IT!.Also water is supposed to be muddied up prior to application according to supplier, its designed to bind to suspended clay particles in water then drop to bottom due to accumulated weight. Also water depth must be at least 5ft.
Thanks for the question. They need to be applied together for optimal results. I was consulted to apply them at the same time for the chemical properties of both parts to work in concert together is how the product was designed. I suppose you might see some results if done separately, but I was advised to put one right over top of the other for best results. For reference….we were losing 4” of water per day last year, and we’re now down to just 1/2” loss daily. I am going to do another application isolated to where I have seen the water leaking out still with tracer dye. And we should have our leak sealed up this spring.
@@newnatureadventures Thank you. I am going to be applying seekleak in my 1 acre pond tomorrow morning. I will be doing it alone in a jon boat with a trolling motor. I like the buckets and small measuring cups. Fingers crossed...
I wish you well tomorrow. The preparations of having the polymer in buckets before hand made things much more convenient. Do your best to maintain a grid pattern so you know what you’ve covered for equal distribution. Hopefully you have an idea of which area you suspect the leak is coming from so you can focus on a portion of the pond, and not have to do the whole thing. If you talked to TJ, I’m sure you have a game plan. Check back in and let me know how it went. Good luck!
Update - I have emptied a couple buckets. Waiting for polymer to sink and taking a break. Then I will start applying more. Buckets, small scoops, both parts at once, grid pattern, and I can see where the leaks are coming out on the backside of the dam.
Breaks are good. It’s some slimy stuff. Good to hear you have visual on the leak on the back side of the dam. That will be a good thing to watch and see reduce over the next few weeks. One thing to keep in mind, for you, and anyone else who reads this in the future. This polymer continually expands for THREE weeks from first application. The first week after application, I didn’t see much improvement in the leak rate and was getting discouraged. But then the second week was a different story….and I had renewed hope as the water loss reduced significantly as the polymer expanded. So stay patient and give it time to expand to its full potential. I would suggest keeping some polymer in reserve for a potential second application after you observe this batch for the next month. A little goes a long way, especially when you know where the leak is exactly and can target the one location.
Im working on my pond tomorrow morning. Im leaking 2" a day. I found a crack like you had. Im concentrating on that area. My water looks really clear right now. Do you think that will still work without the clay particles. I recieved my seap leak from TJ. I pray it works. I got 13 units and plan on putting half of it in the deepest part of the pond. I have a 2 1/2 acre pond and I am concentrating it in about a 5/8 of a acre area.
Thanks for reaching out. I will be praying for you as well! I believe that it will still work without the clay particles floating in the water column. Now it would be better if there were more available clay in the water for the linear polymer to grab on the way down. TJ suggested trying to stir up some clay from the banks the day you apply the polymer…..but logistically I wasn’t able to do that. I went with what I had….and it worked for me. I think your approach is wise. Do half of your units the first application. Focused on the area you know it’s leaking….and then wait. The waiting is tough. And don’t get discouraged. I did not see any immediate improvement. It was only until about 7-10 days after initial application did I start to notice the reduced leak rate. My first application cut my leak in half….from 4” to 2” roughly. Keep in mind, I hadn’t found the source of my leak prior to my first application. I applied the seekleak the first time around to the entire pond basin. Then when I found the leak….i just hammered that one spot about every 3 weeks until fall set in last year and it got too cold. When you know where the leak is, you son’t have to use as much polymer. I think you’ve got a good plan and focus area, and you’ve gone over the game plan with TJ. He’s done hundreds of these projects, and while I only have one personal experience with it, it was consistent with the results TJ told me I could expect. I’ll be praying that it works for you too and that God grants you endurance and patience in the process. Check back in….you can send me email if it’s easier. Blessings!newnatureadventures@gmail.com
@hankhayes8586 just checking in on your application. Hope you found a groove and your arms aren’t too tired. 6 units is a lot in one day. Here’s to expanding polymer and sealing your leak! Cheers!
Yes it worked awesome! It wasn’t a one and done fix. It’s a cumulative effect. The first application cut my leak in half, then I found the leak on my underwater camera. And then I just hammered that one area with polymer, and focused my efforts on that area. I have a series of videos on the channel of that process you can check out. I appreciate the feedback…I will work on a single video that summarizes my overall solution.
This is a quick follow up…you could see my entire process of the polymer treatments and my pipe experiment to plug the major leak by dumping polymer and clay over the huge hole. The polymer was the key. ua-cam.com/video/JuVZSyVMqjk/v-deo.htmlsi=_o2Rh81C5YoJKfcm

What a great video about such a bummer of a situation. I hope this stuff works.

do you have to apply both parts together or can you apply part a and then part b with some time in between?

Where can I buy the product?
Send TJ Hudson an email at tj@hudlandmgmt.com and he will set you up!
Did it work for you? Do you have a follow up video?
