Total continuum, from the lightest to the heaviest tones, which she can flip into at any point in a song with no gaps in the vocal compression. Only a 90s prime Mariah Carey comes to mind when thinking of a voice with this wide of a gradience in tones at their disposal. She has an extreme level of skill in the 'vocal fold closures' department. I know that this is quite technical, but it takes a bit of knowledge to really grasp how great she is. Going back to the wide gradience of tones at her disposal: This is why her voice is capable of producing the so-called "Disney Princess" tones (very light tones, airy and soft tones; the use of very thin vocal folds), along with the vowel modifications that lend to this style of singing. I've heard many pop/contemporary singers do this style very well, but Morissette does it so genuinely. She does it so effortlessly and genuinely - enough to be a master of it. Everybody knows that, but don't ever compare the overratedness of US singers to the underratedness of Filipino singers, cause we all know there's a big difference between the 2 countries in terms of promoting artists, that's why Z&Z's version can be on trend for weeks.. And the fact that M&D's version of this song can still go on trend even with the presence of a lot of versions (especially Zayn&Zhavia's) means something else about these two Filipino singers already. 👌👌
