Guerlain eats Dior and Chanel for breakfast. Never paid much attention to the house of Guerlain, but their Perfum are outstanding. Love the whole line.
I have to agree with you my friend. I always went after Chanel and Dior. One day, I went to test out some perfumes. I was like, hmm.. Let's try it out. My mind was blown. Very very nice perfume. I just ordered another one.
Well said mate, Guerlain has also 5 generation history perfume making and now a 6th who isn't from the Guerlain family but still. Tradition speaks book parts...
They don't really carry it at Sephora and major department stores.

Its not a sirupy plum though, this fragrance is quite heavy on the Heliotrope and rather powdery...
Of the L'homme Ideal line I have the Cologne and the L'Intense offerings. Love them both. This should fit right in. The EDT, the EDP and this latest one will round out my collection of this line. So little time, so many fragrances to experience...

I got mine from News Parfums! It got here quick and its gonna be a great fall and winter banger I'm glad they added the extreme to the line. It doesn't last that long on me or anyone else I tested it on maybe 5 hours

Can buy it here in the UK easily but trying to get a sample at a respectable let alone a sensible price is currently impossible. I think the new bottle is their cost cutting measure like how they made all the rest of the mens range in the same Listerine bottles. Great review as always, absolutely love your work!

The reason why you pick up a bit of Tonka Bean is due to the coumarin which is a molecule raw material from the Tonka Bean.
Love the line so a must buy for me. I even really enjoy the sport version, great in the heat for something a bit different. 😉

Personally I think its better than the EDP. The Leather gives it a really mature vibe.

great video Asher.. In the Netherlands this was already released in March (sales lady told me that). But to me: I don't get the comparison with Code Absolu. It's indeed a darker/heavy scent more suited for colder weather. The opening is nice. The original DNA is very recognizable. Cheers!

If you like it stock 2 bottles in your collection because next year patch performance will be horrible. First year/season patches usually the best.

They’ve begun standardizing all the L’Homme Ideal bottles. No paint on any of them. The l’intense, for example, is clear with a black label.

I just got this and it smells exactly like the edp I do not smell a difference at all anyone else have this same experience
Coumarin and vanillin are common parts of most tobacco accords so that's probably why you are picking up the unofficial tonka/vanilla notes
I get a far more subtle Maverick by Aaron Terrance Hughes on the opening.

Loving the L'homme line
Don't believe they do that color match on the sides anymore regardless of the size or fragrance. I believe they changes the presentation to a straight glass bottle on all their fragrances. I could be mistaken but I bought a 100 ml of Cool and the EDP and no color match.
Had to get a sample. First couple of tests it's so similar to the EDP and the L'intense, thought I got duped. I get a touch of tobacco in the dry down, but only up close. Wish there was more plum, leather, cinnamon and tobacco. They just don't stand out enough. I'll probably pick it up if I can find a 50ml for decent price. Could never find a L'intense bottle for that cheap.

I don't get much tobacco from this at all! It's nice but nothing new, very similar to the original EDT and a touch of the EDP and 'possibly' a light touch of tobacco (if you're a sniffer dog), the soft fruity touch is nice. I wouldn't class it as a 'tobacco' scent. Quite nice inoffensive frag but will be hugely over-hyped as it's a Guerlain.

My recent 100ml bottle of Ideal L'intense came in a clear bottle as well... not the black one we always see. Someone said they are in the process of bottling with only the cap being different but I haven't verfied that.
Intense with the pimento note was a deception on a speed scent test. Will see if Ash will right
This seems promising. I'm not a fan of tonka or vanilla based sweetness, so this might be interesting, now they've removed that
For the colors on the side of the bottle, I heard that every l'homme idéal won't have it anymore.

I sprayed it once on my hand to try. From what I remember it was perhaps more interesting than EDP in the beginning but lasting shorter. But there are many actual reviews out there you can find. Have you bought it yet?
This is the best in the line along with the EDP. Im kinda burned out in the rest tbh. Ready for Guerlain to get back to their roots and start releasing original fragrences again. I think wasser has it in him if LVMH will just get the heck out of the way :)

Why did I buy this. I don’t like tobacco scents. I guess I am giving hubby another fragrance. He has a collection now and he doesn’t even collect fragrances. He couldn’t care less what he wears.

I love EDT and Cologne, 5 sprays of extreme and hard to enjoy it, become skin scent so quick 1h of poor projection after that i need to put my nose in to skin to smell it 5/10 name "extreme"has nothing to do with performance :/

Agree, and his ad game is almost unmatched. Not just before and after every vid, but normally 3 or 4 during. Wouldn't bother me so much, but I normally play review vids while I'm getting ready for work each morning and his ads are unnecessarily long, so I have to interrupt my routine to reach for the skip key. Again, hard to watch.

Amazing how you can notice all the individual components of a fragrence. I have this one and realy do not like it. I certainly do not smell vanilla nor tobacco, in fact none of the notes it pretends to have. It overwhelmed me as a nasty scent
