This seems like a really solid release 👀. As someone who came into the frag community kinda late (2020) I missed out on grabbing Ideal Cologne, so this would definitely be my replacement for it
Absolutely spot on with your first impression on Platine Prive, Ash! I knew it was going to smell very similar to the Cologne and since I was running really low, this was a very welcoming. Yes, it does smell very similar but it does have its own unique characteristic with much better performance. It's a perfect fragrance for spring/summer and I highly recommend to everyone, especially if you enjoyed the Cologne flanker.

I can't stand gourmand fragrances. But I can't deny the quality of the L'homme Ideal line. So i'm very excited to try this new less sweet/gourmand flanker.
I bought most of my Guerlains on the tail end of their affordable days (Vetiver, Homme L’Eau Boisee, L’Homme Ideal Cologne, and L’Instant all around $30), and the HUGE price jumps are what turn me away from buying replacement bottles. It’s a shame, because Guerlain’s one of my 2 or 3 favorite fragrance brands. They just smell so classy, high quality and unique for their once-reasonable prices.
I think they were cheap not reasonable in terms of pric3. For the quality and scent that they offer, I think now they are reasonably priced aside from the extreme version which is on the higher end.
I had picked up the EDP and liked it so much that I had to add Guerlain Homme for Summer - great citrus opening. So, yeah, now will wait for Platine to hit discounters. Maybe Le Male Elixer will be available same time. Thanks Ash - great review, as always. 👍
Guerlain says platinum is a limited edition and for sale for the time being. So there is a big chance it won’t hit discounters. Hope Guerlain is wrong though!
Be vigilant. The Extreme came to discounters infrequently and never lasted long. This will probably be equally tough to get a hold of unless you order it direct from Guerlain. I bit the bullet.
I will never understand how people in US can buy these and many other colognes from discounters for 20-50USD, where me in Canada I pay at least 90 and most of them are around 120/130USD.
Dying for this and Habit Rouge Prive to make it onto the Australian market. Or at least some online stores that I can access. That said, I've yet to get my hands on either the EDP or the Extreme. Both of which I love as much as my signature EDT.

Wanted to post on here since ash is big. Ive only smelled og one mil and i think lucky but, my bday was yesterday and part of what she gave me was samples of born in roma, ralphs club, ralphs club parfum, and the most wanted, and i like born in roma the most. Sorry for the hella extended sentence.

Sorry but its not really like Lhomme ideal cologne, they share some similarities due to the fresh accords but thats it, LHomme Ideal Cologne seems to be untouchable, a legendary frag for sure.
The whole Ideal line is amazing especially the cologne version. I've being using my bottle sparingly so I'm glad to hear this ⬆️

Wonderful. Ideal cologne is the only scent I got a back-up bottle, which I just opened. I don't have to worry about spraying cologne too much now

Guerlain is a cosmetics, skincare, beauty house. That's why I've never considered it a "niche" brand.
