Reliving The War takes a look at the Monday Night War period of professional wrestling from the mid 90s to early 2000s. Week by week, the goal is to look at every WWF Raw and WCW Nitro segment that aired on the USA Network and TNT.
On WCW Nitro, the company are gearing up for Superbrawl VII where Hollywood Hulk Hogan defends his nWo Championship against Roddy Piper. Piper is in attendance tonight while Hogan films a movie, though the Hulkster appears on Nitro via satellite. The Four Horsemen continue to have issues, and Kevin Sullivan drops the Taskmaster name this week during a worked shoot promo.
On the WWF Channel, we have a special Thursday episode of Raw named "Thursday Raw Thursday". Fans will remember this one thanks to Shawn Michaels famously announcing that he's lost his smile while vacating the WWF Championship. With the WWF having no champion, a decision is made where the participants of the Final Four match (The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Vader & Bret Hart) will battle for the gold at In Your House 13.

When people ask me what I’m watching every Thursday I just tell them “it’s Horsemen Business, you wouldn’t understand”
This is great 😂😂
One has to wonder what all this 'Horseman business' was, that prevented them from attending literally their only jobs.
@@lordrosemount The World may never know 🤣
69th like, because Horseman Business.
i started lol'ing like the fuckin joker when i read this!!!!
"The Midcard Express" To the person who suggested that, I am raising a glass in your honour, comedy gold.
Indeed 🤣🤣🤣
My favorite as well
Easily the best of the bunch by far.
The Chewing Gum in Debra's hair is the winner of this week's Reliving the War
A winner is gum
Hit her face with a gum-shot 🤣🤣
What the hell did she say though??? 😂 This lady was a train wreck waiting to happen and I loved every bit of it.
I come back to watch this all the time
Whoever gave her the mic from the second time onwards is the true villain of WCW@@dontreldontrel416
HBK: *leaves*
Austin: Hell yeah, my turn to drive!
And then Austin got to drive for the next 4 years
pssh Austin took the wheeI, thats why HBK Ieft crying Iike a IiI beach
HBK walked so Austin and Triple H can run
Wow HHH and the Rock in the opener. That's freaking crazy considering where both would be in the early 2000s
Yep, they were pretty much intertwined for multiple years. Feuding here.. Then leaders of feuding factions in 1998.. Then Upper Midcard/#1 Contenders' feud in 1999.. And then Main event feud in 2000.
@@planescaped what about savio Vega?
"Neither Triple H nor The Rock are good enough to sit under the Honky Tonk learning tree." I'll bare those words in mind when we get to 1999 and see if The Honky Tonk Man made the right call in rejecting these two.
don't even have to wait that long, early 1998 will do
I'm shocked Hunter did the job for the newbie.
He wasn’t married to the bosses daughter yet
What about Marc Mero
@@buddahmunk1812 98 he wasnt married yet he was over
Right before the gum hits Debra, someone should edit Mr. Perfect doing his gum slap lol
That would be Shaqtin a Fool levels of editing there, lol.
I haven't watched wrestling for almost 20 years now, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate this series and your content in general. It still allows me to enjoy it! One of the few things I look forward to on a weekly basis on YT. I've been since the very beginning and it's great to see you get the recognition you rightfully deserve! Thank you!
I'm in the exact same boat. Haven't watched since the attitude era. This series brings me back to my childhood. I'm grateful for this series
Same here.
Think alot of people are like us, it's a trip down memory lane.
Same
@@ericb9252 lol No he didn't.
Honky Tonkin Man missed a golden opportunity to take Rocky under his wings and call him Rock-a-billy
Rock would look GREAT with a pompadour.
@@Rob_Thorsman He basically had one for years!!!🤨
HHH Focused on the Wrong Arm as the ‘Rock’ clearly hit his Right Arm into the RingPost … 👀
Well, what do you expect from a couple of jobbers who'd never amount to anything?
@@lordrosemount 😅
Those two are probably never gonna wrestle again
Get these two JABRONIS out of MY ring!
16:38 Man i remember that
"Can you tell your Daddy he IS STILL FIRED?!?!!"
Bishoff was such a great Heel at those Times
Mr. Hughes actually found Shawn Michales smile by accident which robbed him of his ability to frown he felt this was unitimindating so he left until he could find his frown.
Turn that upside-down frown back around.
During the first set of months after Austin begins getting those full-crowd "Austin" chants, you can really see it hit him and fire him up. Good fans can help build character and change the energy of the moment all at the same time.
He was getting on the map
When The Rock and Triple H met for the first time on this night, who would have thought that those two would have a iconic rivalry in the future.
I really enjoy the N64 WcW vs NWO World Tour music you put it in the end. Very nice touch
I genuinely look forward to this every week even my husband knows when that intro plays 😂
Hang on. If Sunny's managing days are over does that means there's a new opening for Apollo: The Personal Trainer?
I would honestly enjoy an Apollo Crews time travel story
Shanme the Bodydonnas are also gone. Still, he can manage the Triple Threat!
Its been said before...and Ill say it again after seeing the gum in Debra's hair.....WCW fans have the best aim.
Can we just appreciate Jackie powerslamming that dude in stilettoes. Wow!
I swear you don't sleep making these videos, the amount you put out is impressive considering the research put in and quality. Just don't lose your smile doing it.
*I lose my smile every time I see HBK's face during that interview.*
I hate the way his face looks when he is "crying" in the thumbnail
Surprised you didn't mention the "Rocky Sucks" chants started this week. It was only for about 30 seconds but you could tell that crowd liked HHH more then Rock.
In a different universe, the People's Dropkick is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment.
The Midcard Express. I love that one haha
The Midcard Express and Just In Catering 🤣👏
I defiately dont lose my smile when its Thursday Raw Thursday and Reliving the war is on .
The plane with the 24 inch pythons flapping!!!! pure gold!!!!! Thank u for that!!! I found my smile!!!!
I liked High Voltage when I was younger. They had a good look and decent moves.
I think its interesting that Randy Anderson was a great referee and he would actually only manage to live a little more than 5 more years from this point.
He gave EVERYTHING to the role.
"Mask and Mullet" got me good. LoL 😂😂😂
Closing in on the first hundred. Seems like a couple of weeks ago we started this cheers big man
It's hard to believe we are almost at a year and a half
Even though we laugh at Shawn, the segment and things around it were nicely done
I was literally waiting by my phone for the notification for this to pop up. Can’t get enough of Reliving The War and heavily anticipated this one.
"Hardly Credible" was the best name.
I am a fan of "Midcard Express" myself.
Would be cool to see a video about yourself my man, how you became a wrestling fan, etc. Love the channel and the content dude! ALWAYS top shelf! Cheers!
This ‘Ricky Mayaveeya’ is gonna be bagging my groceries in a week.
I'm so excited for this I might do a helicopter spin! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Just not in front of a flight attendant.
Yes helicopter flight attendants are brutal
I was going threw a few things the other day and came across a Rock figure which had the attire from this time period. I think it was a re-release but still made me laugh when i found it
I'm so looking foward to seeing this series in late 1997 and 1998
That won’t be until sometime in May-June 2022 until the Reliving The War series gets to Late 1997 man lol. 1998 is still over 10 months away in the series.
The sheer amount of effort and research you do on each episode, is amazing thankyou so much for this unbelievable series.
What do you mean? He's just narrating what's happening in each video..
Wrestling Bios thanks for this show. You don’t know how much we needed this in our life’s (wrestling fans). Thanks for all the videos.
This is the best wrestling series I've ever seen. Thank you so much for helping me relive my childhood ever week.
We are entering into the real good stuff from here. Thank you for keeping the series up
Thank you for making this series and all the other videos you do. I love this stuff!
The sarcasm concerning the future of The Rock's career is absolutely hilarious lmao
Haven't watched wrestling in about 20 years. Not sure how I found this channel a few weeks ago but I've been literally watching every episode of this series and loving it. I miss this Era and I appreciate you doing this man. Thank you.
Welcome to Thursday Afternoon Reliving the War. Thanks once again for a trip down memory lane... double kudos for the crazy week's show...
What i love about the series is the no mercy music in the background great job Wrestling Bios!
Edit: Series is amazing and my go to Thursday video love your amazing work
We all appreciate the hard work you put into these videos! You're the icon!
Those names, great job everyone. Just binged the whole series for the 2nd time. Wonderful series, wonderful channel!
Another awesome upload from the greatest wrestling channel on the net.
The amount of work you put into your channel is incredible. It must take a lot of work, research and effort and it’s highly appreciated. I look forward to all of your videos through the week, however reliving the war is my favourite and a highlight of my week. I no longer watch the current product and haven’t since the mid 00s. However very much enjoy reliving the Monday night war through your channel, thanks very much again ✌️
Fantastic work. I have been here since episode 1. The production you have put together through this time is Too Sweet!!
Bet that's not the first or last time Debra had something sticky land in her hair 🤣
The results of horseman business I assume.
@@matthewcowan9324 lol, the very same
Loving this series and brings me back many memories of my parents yelling at me for so much channel flipping during Monday Nights
I’m watching both raw and nitro with you as you do these videos! Great stuff so nostalgic wrestling was a huge part of my childhood in the 90s.
You're providing a key and essential service through These Times
YEAH BUDDY! The most accurate recount of the Monday Night Wars right here! LET’S GO!!! 👍👍👍
The accuracy of the gum throw tho. Great stuff for 70 episodes!
‘Xpacs bag carriers!’ in literal tears! 😂👍
17:30 - pretty much what would happen if the Outsiders wrestled the Young Bucks
Bro I just wanna say I love your content and RTW is some of the best wrestling coverage for the monday night wars on YT!
Keep up the good work brother!
Man the new overlays and the way this is being done is so clean! I love it
The greatest birthday present I've ever got. To see reliving the war.
The intro is still my favourite part. It’s just perfect.
Takes me back a college pizza joint, drinking and getting rowdy watching the wars unfold.
The Diesel (Kevin Nash) & HBK (Shawn Michaels) Pairing in the WWF/E was Great and I Miss these Golden Years of Professional Wrestling … 💯
Two Dudes with Attitudes... Two Chaps with All the Straps!
This channel provides the definitive history of the Monday night wars right here
I'm suddenly interested in wrestling again. I was 15 years old watching this and had been watching Mid South Wrestling, WWF, NWA, and WCW for 7 years by this time.
Good to see that the odd neck craning angle was alive and well on RAW all the way back in 1997.
I was born in October of 1997 so I'm excited to watch this whole year!
i love this series, me and my college buddies at murray state would pile in a dorm room and watch both shows religiously... miss the times
Wow #70. I have beeb here from day 1 and it doesnt seem that long ago. Congrats man and i look forward to the rest of the war! So many good memories with my brother and grandpa throughout the 90s watching both shows. We had so many dream matches we would have loved to see between WWF and WCW.
"Now he lost his smile like a set of fuckin' car keys" best line of RTW so far!
Am I the only 1 who hopes this series never ends?
...keep up the great work bro 👊🏽♥️
Just wanna say thank you for the content!! Loved wrestling since I was a kid. Since AEW started I’ve come back into it as an adult!!
Reliving my childhood one week at a time....Thanks bro
LMAO I love it ! He lost his smile, like a set of F&%kin car keys, another entertaining review Good stuff
There is only one, who can bring back Shawn's smile.
'The Giant Killer' - Sunny (Days)!
Man, I just want to say that High Voltage had some *sick* looking ring gear that night. 👌🔥💯
Running out of superlatives for this series. Top level work 👏🏼
Whoever threw the gum in Debras hair is a legend
I wish you could move this Series to Mondays. But great work and entertaining commentary on these Videos, thank you.
I was kind of worried about that Rocky fella when he clotheslined the ring post but then I figured that with the dropkicks he kept dishing out, Maivia would be fine. Not like he's going to use his elbow much anyway.
I never understood Debra's roll in wcw and the gum shot omg perfect hit
Her role in Debra's wcw was that at first she only accompanied her husband, since a mongo was part of the 4 horsemen. And then she started getting a push where she would have her history with Jarrett, where Debra apparently liked Jarrett.
I've finally caught up!!! These episodes are amazing
Whoever threw the gum that stuck in Debras hair has got to have played that for everyone they know 😆
These videos are great -- I have been watching them from DAY 1-- The production is great and so is your commentary-- it's so good that you now have competition. I forgot the guys name but he basically has taken your idea and does a review of old NITROS AND old RAWS. IMITATION IS THE BEST FORM OF FLATTERY
Congrats on 250k subscribers WB.... You earned that 👍👍
i havent been finding anything new on yt to watch i hulked up when i saw this
“Sullivans Little Bunny Hop” 😂🤣😂
Love the Nintendo songs added, nostalgia king
Piper really was one of the greatest on a mic. He for sure is in the conversation of the greatest of all time
I just seen the Sting and Macho Man segment here on UA-cam the other day!! Savage was hilarious during this segment to me for some reason 🤣 I love everyone involved in that segment, definitely miss those days!!!
I’ve watched every episode of RTW and I still have no idea what is going on with this Horsemen feud.
Reliving the War always gives me a smile.
Just in time like every single week; new iMac first video is Reliving The Wars FTW!!!
Man this channel never disappoints always have great wrestling content god bless you wrestling Bios
Raw came on 2 days after I was born :D! I'm happy that my favorite wrestler The Rock got to win the WWE Intercontinental Title that night!
Can’t wait for when the Hart Foundation get together!!🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Just one more month for that
Your videos are amazing! A lot more informative and fun then some of the episodes themselves you deserve a lot more credit, keep up the good work! I would honestly become a patron if i had the money. I love your videos!
