When Bret said he was quitting on Raw, our hearts dropped(no pun intended)but started beating again when we learned of the Final Four. That match really is top 5 most underrated matches ever in wrestling. Its unbelievable
What an awesome match
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned how the WWE struggles creatively using their talent. Thanks for reminding me about this time when wrestling was both engaging and fun to watch. As it turned out, my friend and I are Bret fans. We had planned to travel from NY to Chicago for WM 13. When Bret said he was quitting on Raw, our hearts dropped(no pun intended)but started beating again when we learned of the Final Four. I remember thinking that if I blinked and/or sneezed, I'd miss a couple of moves during that match.
This is one of my all-time favorite matches
I like how this feud was just basically absolute chaos every night leading up to this match lol Like individual feuds aside, the bigger picture of them just coming down every night and just fighting each other with no regards was just awesome. Also, the concept of this match was indeed a great and interesting way to blow it off. It would be awesome to see that match make it's way back in some sensible capacity.
Thanks for reviewing this match, I always remembered this match and the build fondly and this was was one of the things that got me hooked to wrestling .
The whole thing was pure gold!!!
