The editors in this deserve a gold freaking medal. Editing all these completely separate performances together with the right comedic timing and transitions all while matching them up with the vision of the director, that is heroic.
Don't forget ILM, they also helped out on not just the visual effects but for that scene and others like it, for years whenever movies try to have one actor play two or multiple characters in the same room it would look dated AF like for example Oh God, You Devil. But man these guys did some stellar work on this film and it was made in 2000.
The real heroes are Eddie and whichever doubles they used for the hands to take the food from Anna Pearl. Just look how seamless the entire shot is when she's passing the food. It's like Eddie knew the Shadow Clone Jutsu. Without them, ILM and the Editors wouldn't have anything to work with.
@@Onlyabby-2002 exactly, I say this all the time and I'm only 24. I hate we get old and the best movies writers, actors, and the directors are older. 😢

This is one of the funniest parts of a movie of hilarious scenes. Not a bit vulgar, just stuff you can roll on the floor laughing at. Eddie Murphy is an absolute comic genius.
To this day I'm still stumped as to why he received no awards from this or any other movies where he played multiple characters. I remember going to see this at the movies and hardly anybody (black, white, hispanic, etc. etc.) could keep their seat lol. He's just had that kind of affect on all kinds of people. Eddie was and always will be a comedic genius.
It probably didn’t help him that a lot of the humor in this movie is very lowbrow. I found it funny, of course, but the folks who vote on movie awards probably didn’t.
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY ! I’ve stated this for the last 20 years. The men that did the make-up, body suits and costumes actually nominated for a Saturn Award for their work on this MOVIE but not Eddie Murphy.
It's hilarious how Cletus always gets scolded after he says one bad word about the grandmother - she can talk about the smuttiest stuff and gets away with it 🤣
"Was that a spoon or a fork?! That was a spoon, he'll be alright!" xD, I think Eddie Murphy didn't realise he was doing two characters at once right in front of the camera.

Its amazing seeing Eddie Murphy do much of the family except the kid and yet still make them all seem unique and actual people, that's called real talent!

Do you guys see the level of detail that the production crew took to make this scene feel like all the characters are sitting at the table together?
