This came out the year I turned 6 and our family bought it that year and it has been our favorite Christmas album ever since - it wouldn't be Christmas without it! Our original copy has been played so much it is scratchy but we still love it! Very happy to find the whole album here!
I am a newcomer and I really love the collection of Christmas music. What a relief from the two to three dozen songs radio stations regurgitate every Christmas Season.
WoW! 1963, I was 8 years old at that time, this must be the tunes, my oldies must have listened to....beautiful Christmas music (written this 19th day of Sept. 2021)
I remember seeing Wayne King and his orchestra a couple times with my parents. He was their favorite to dance to. FIrst I heard his Christmas album. Thank you.
Beautiful album. Has that perfect retro old time sound of childhood Christmases of the 60's. Thank you for posting the tracks. Now I know what I'm buying on eBay! This one is a keeper! ❤
This is an old album. I was born in 1970 and can't remember a Christmas Dad didn't play it. He said he bought it at a garage sale in 1963. It was the first Christmas album he and mom had after getting married. (And the only one that year.)
Good Christmas Music Song (1963) At Happy A Meery Christmas Day 2019 : Wayne King*🌠 - 🎄 Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (1963) : Bigolive Show By - Christmas🌠🎄🌠 ..... Cheerio.🌠☁🎄☁🌠🎼🎤🎼🌠👍👍👍🌠🌟🌠.
I usually avoid Wayne King records like a root canal. But it is Christmas so I clicked it. Wonderful arrangements, fabulous chorus, top rate orchestra. In all great listening. Only the occasional King signature syrupy, slurpy saxophones detract. Makes me wonder did someone else write the charts? Great addition to your collection. Never thought I would wish for a longer play list on a Wayne King record!
My dentist years ago had headphones playing our local elevator music station. Honestly when the music started my gums were going numb before the nitrous and novacain were administered. True story.
I saw it at Goodwill and was so excited to think I had found another copy of this album! I bought it anyway as I collect Christmas albums. Funny that they would reuse the image though!!
I have been searching for years to try and locate where this Church may be located .To possibly see a picture of it now. When I was a Kid ,I use to stare at this picture on Our Lp of this,I still have it..I loved it.Anyone have any Idea ? There doesn't appear to be no mention anywhere on the cover ..where this picture was taken...
Snowbound on this album always sounded like it should be a sleigh song. The song "Snowbound" I know is a romantic, sexy, medium-tempo number, usually sang by the likes of Sarah Vaughan or Doris Day, not this jaunty little tune here. But it is definitely different than Brazilian Sleigh Ride or Happy Sleigh Ride, both of which have similar tempo. Another good one is June Hutton's "Song of the Sleigh Bells. Wayne's album is as old as I am, but my Grandma and Grandpa would play it every Christmas in the 60's and 70's for all the kids and cousins while opening our gifts at their house. Nice memories.
Yes, I have, it's been in my library for years. Honestly had forgotten that one when I wrote my commentary. Another (and different) romantic winter song. F&T was one of UA's dynamic artists of the era, kinda up there with Esquivel in many ways. I like the vocal treatment in their version of "Snowbound". Amazing how many different songs there are with the same title. Amazing how they managed to make Baldwin pianos sound fancy! :)
My Papa made a mix tape of this album and Bing Crosby and there are many pops and crackles from the vinyl and I wouldn’t change it.,,it sounds like Christmas music by the fireplace.
You are correct. The Orchestra and Bands were recording as far back as the 1890's with names such as Edison Symphony Orchestra, Sousa's Band, Metropolitan Orchestra, Arthur Pryor's Orchestra, Columbia Orchestra and etc...
This is sacred music
So warm and inviting.
I can close my eyes and see my mother smiling face as she enjoys her records.
My absolute favorite album for Christmas!
It's a good one. Glad you enjoy!

This cover was also used on a compilation titled "Christmas Through the Years."
This is another winner and will be in rotation in our house this coming Christmas season.
It's a good one!

Thanks Paul. Nice comments. I thought Andre Kostelanetz produced some nice Christmas records too.
My dentist years ago had headphones playing our local elevator music station. Honestly when the music started my gums were going numb before the nitrous and novacain were administered. True story.
This record cover/picture also shows up on a compilation from MCA in 1969 title "Christmas Through the Years".

That's an interesting search. I'll try to help out and search, too. I have the album. This is my childhood memories Christmas album. I really love it.
I have emailed a library in California that has this in archives to check if they could direct me where to search for the location of the photograph.
I'm the same age as it :)
It's a good one.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing. Have you heard the Ferrante and Teicher version of Snowbound?

I don't have the album but on cd.
Enjoy!
Audio Issues. Noisy vinyl but a great "Beautiful Music" or "Easy Listening" Christmas record.
Hmm...I could not recognize real Audio Issues. To me the Sound is fine! 👍🙂 A very nice LP with beautiful Arrangements.
My Papa made a mix tape of this album and Bing Crosby and there are many pops and crackles from the vinyl and I wouldn’t change it.,,it sounds like Christmas music by the fireplace.
Seems like back in the day, everyone had an orchestra. You either had an orchestra or you were IN an orchestra I guess.
You are correct. The Orchestra and Bands were recording as far back as the 1890's with names such as Edison Symphony Orchestra, Sousa's Band, Metropolitan Orchestra, Arthur Pryor's Orchestra, Columbia Orchestra and etc...
Anyone know where the cover photograph was taken?
Still in the shrink rap! ⚫
We like to call this wrap music!
