Here's a premium product from a very mainstream brand. Vauxhall's Cascada is a proper four-seat convertible that would have really worried the premium makers were it not for issues of badge equity. For those prepared to look beyond that, this car offers luxury cabriolet motoring and head-turning good looks without the usual lottery winners' price tag. It's surprisingly desirable.
The Cascada is genuinely desirable product. The design's good, the finish seems very polished and it's got some solid engineering underneath the pretty lines. A perfect recipe in fact for buyers who previously enjoyed the old Vauxhall-engineered Saab 9-3 Convertible. It not only, as you'd expect, substantially undercuts rival models from Audi, Volvo and BMW on price but it also provides what is, in many ways, a better all-round package into the bargain, one that includes more rear seat legroom and extra equipment. Some might even find this car to be better looking. If all that's not enough, then it's hard to see what more Vauxhall can do to win the hearts and minds of convertible buyers.

I've owned my 2013 1.4 Elite Cascada for around 18 months. Brilliant ride, nice long wheel base and very comfortable standard suspension model. Ain't no rocket ship but easily covers 350 -400 miles on a journey without feeling tiresome. Getting around low - mid 40's mpg on a run, though probably low 30's around town. Yes there are too many buttons to fiddle around with though they do have purpose. Heated seats and steering wheel are handy in the winter. I love the styling and the overall feel of the car. I've done around 14,000 miles and the tyres still have around 6mm of tread. Probably lacks a sat nav but google map does a great job. Downside:- in my ownership 2 dipped beam bulbs costing £10 a pair, a new expansion water tank replacement costing £21 and a new battery £110. so can't grumble at that. Had a 3.5 ltr Merc convertible before which was very juicy. but very quick The Cascada in my view is a far better car.
An excellent review by a very knowledgeable and intelligent presenter. Thank you so much. Really helped me in my choise of a convertible car. I really like this Vauxhall Cascada convertible.
Glad it was helpful!
Great review as usual 👍
Thanks again!
*How reliable has this car been so far?*
Sold less than 3000 of them in the uk over a 5 year period......that tell you everything
I had one. Complete bag of wank. 1.4 couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. 1.6 is thirty and expensive to tax. Diesel sounds like a bag of nails, autos feel like it's put together with rubber bands and paper clips, the Elite version doesn't come with things such as Bluetooth, and sat nav as standard (option extras) which you would expect. Drain plugs block all the time so you end up with a free swimming pool in the car and the window at the rear will pop out on the bottom left corner resulting in a new roof. Chopped mine in for a E class convertible
ive never known 1 car be 1.4 1.6 2.0 diesel and both manual and auto. or you just chatting total shit? hmmm
@FarOut-n6b I test drove all of them you cunt before buying a 2.0 Elite
