jin and jimin sitting on the high octaves like they're just sipping tea. they made it look easy. wow. meanwhile, i tried to hit those notes and i look like i'm giving birth again. oh well... life's unfair. lol on a serious note, the original is "every breath i take" by the police. then, in the 90s, diddy and faith evans did a remake and turned it mainly into a rap song dedicated to notorious B.I.G. who passed away that time - they changed the title to "i'll be missing you." and then, bts comes in and does their own twist, now dedicating the song to people we miss and the life we used to have before the pandemic... the song lives on. 💜

I think in the quarantine they all relaxed and tried to work on their vocals more, espacially Jimin who you pointed that he improved too because he used to be so into dancing even tho he had great vocals from the beginning but the title of main dancer (same for jhope) had him the responsibility to work on dancing more than anything so they can represent their group so well, now I can see that they started to change their focus into the vocals and rap and good melodies and I'm sure the next album would have even better songs

Jimin is amazing as always but Jin took this for me. I know he struggled with Blue and Grey because of the higher notes but his voice is so beautiful in his upper register. He is also clear as a bell in this. He often puts a bit of breath in his singing but it's wonderful to hear it without because you can hear how stable he is. Everyone is amazing and I love how they've been pairing high and low vocal tones. It's so effective. I just wish that maybe they'd turned Jimin and Jin's mics up a bit more. 💜

Way back when you did *I think* the Tiny Desk you said something about Jimin being the one with all the natural talent. At the time I was like mmm he's great but he worked and worked and worked to get there. Really satisfying to hear you say that - bc as a musician you know how hard it is to cultivate and be incredible at an instrument or vocal or whatever when maybe it doesn't come as easily as something else. ☺💜
Jimin has always had that naturally beautiful voice, but his lack of confidence is what held him back! What we are hearing today is a result of him building his confidence through hard work and also accepting the kind of voice he has. It's amazing how the mind can hinder one's performances if one doesn't know how good they really are.

This was a HUGE song when Diddy remade it with The Police’s song. There was a big controversy because Diddy didn’t ask for permission/rights to sample it. In the end, Sting owns all of the copyrights to this song and he actually performed it with Diddy, Faith Evans and 112 at the VMAs.

With “I’ll be missing you” being such a classic it can be super scary for suga & jhope to have a rap in Korean BUT it blended so well with the song & made the already great song that much better. Yoongi & Taehyung really shined in this performance.
